Julie, I've told oh that when I pop me clogs, I want my life to be celebrated.
I want a gospel choir, a good knees up in the pub and if anyone wears black they are so banned!

I think the daughter's speech was heartfelt and genuine.

Today I've heard a lot of people say that the memorial service was ott and dramatic...but...MJ comes from a culture where when you die your life is celebrated by family and friends

I actually thought the Tribute Ceremony was done very tastefully(if that is the right saying). We all have different opinions as to how things should be done re.funerals.The Jackson family are not your quiet family who live in our street. They have lived life in the limelight, and obviously chose for MJ to go out in the same way.
I am sorry Annina ,has lost her son ,as she says they had a nice private affair to say goodbye. She has her views ,same as us all and entitled to them.
As for calling MJ a filthy pervert there are many people who think the same. That is what she thinks, and that is what she said. Can it not be left like that.?

i am not a fan of mj but i do like the early stuff,ie motown.and i agree with others that he was musically brilliant,a proper showman.a leader of the music vidio, where would mtv have been without thriller ect?
but he didnt have a childhood,he had be an adult when most children are out playing ,he obviously had a lot of problems.choosing to change the way he looked because he couldnt bear to see the face of his father when he looked in a mirror.it is well known that both him and his siblings were abused by their father.
i dont know if he was guilty of child abuse although clearly a grown man having young boys to'sleepover' in his bed with him is not normal, and i dont understand why he would pay the parents of jordon a large sum of money if he had nothing to hide?
i watched the tribute, and i did have a cry when his daughter paris was speaking,he was her daddy and she obviously loved him.i wasnt comfortable watching,i personnaly dont feel the children should have been on the stage like that.
i also dont feel the children should be with micheals parents, for 1 they are both in their eightys, secondly micheals father was an abuser,he had ruled over his children with an iron rod.i dont think the two older children should be with the natural mother either, after all she sold them!
the three children should definatly stay together.they will need the love and security of the people they know and trust.janet jackson springs to mind.
these children are now going to be very very wealthy, their father may have been millions of pounds in debt but he still owned a part of neverland and had other assets.all of his albums are selling again like hot cakes.talk of neverland being the new gracelands ect, money will be rolling in for years to come.

My oh My!!! what did i start with this thread.

It will be his children that will hurt if M J name is pulled through the mud.

He is gone and all that has past should die with him.
His children are the ones my heart go out to with loosing their Dad also his parents to loose a child must be dreadful.

PS who broke the board, or is it just mine that has shifted to the far-right? ( unlike me to be on the far- right of anything! lol )

I don't see the difference between an 'over the top', dramatic funeral a la MJ, Princess Diana etc etc, or a small private funeral...

someone has died , and the people who cared about them grieve , the way that is done is different for all of us... some do it outwardly , publicly, some inwardly and only in private.

I didn't watch , but I don't have a problem with others doing so.... I wouldn't mind my funeral cortege being a coach and black horse being preceeded by a New Orleans band playing something bluesy...bit over the top, but hey it's MY funeral lol.

Oh, I don't know, Jean. It's one of those statements that could start a very interesting debate with people putting various points of view across.

ChAoTicintheNewYear

ChAoTicintheNewYear Report 8 Jul 2009 19:13

So because some people have a difference of opinion to you and some believe they have the right to voice that difference, whether they agree with them or not, you think they have mental health problems???

Goodbye Roxanne.
Oh just one word of advice before you go...maybe next time when there is a good disscusion going on it may be best you stick to the General board 'trying to save a whale' thread, as I'm sure you wouldn't want to spoil another thread on here ducks. LOL

Jean Durant Report 8 Jul 2009 19:11

I can cope with alternative views as long as they are debatable but I'm afraid "filthy pervert" when there is absolutely no proof of that whatsoever is not debatable in my view.

ChAoTicintheNewYear Report 8 Jul 2009 18:59

"You have not rattled my cage,Annina, your probably known by other names anyway!lol"

I'll take it you have evidence of that last bit lol

Annina has the right to her own views and to post if she so wishes or are alternative views not allowed on these boards nowadays.

Kate Burl

Kate Burl Report 8 Jul 2009 18:44

Roxanne, totally unfair.
Just because Annina has differing views does not mean you can accuse her of all kinds of nonsense, fgs it's comments like yours above that stop people debating on here.
