i am not a fan of mj but i do like the early stuff,ie motown.and i agree with others that he was musically brilliant,a proper showman.a leader of the music vidio, where would mtv have been without thriller ect?
but he didnt have a childhood,he had be an adult when most children are out playing ,he obviously had a lot of problems.choosing to change the way he looked because he couldnt bear to see the face of his father when he looked in a mirror.it is well known that both him and his siblings were abused by their father.
i dont know if he was guilty of child abuse although clearly a grown man having young boys to'sleepover' in his bed with him is not normal, and i dont understand why he would pay the parents of jordon a large sum of money if he had nothing to hide?
i watched the tribute, and i did have a cry when his daughter paris was speaking,he was her daddy and she obviously loved him.i wasnt comfortable watching,i personnaly dont feel the children should have been on the stage like that.
i also dont feel the children should be with micheals parents, for 1 they are both in their eightys, secondly micheals father was an abuser,he had ruled over his children with an iron rod.i dont think the two older children should be with the natural mother either, after all she sold them!
the three children should definatly stay together.they will need the love and security of the people they know and trust.janet jackson springs to mind.
these children are now going to be very very wealthy, their father may have been millions of pounds in debt but he still owned a part of neverland and had other assets.all of his albums are selling again like hot cakes.talk of neverland being the new gracelands ect, money will be rolling in for years to come.

I actually thought the Tribute Ceremony was done very tastefully(if that is the right saying). We all have different opinions as to how things should be done re.funerals.The Jackson family are not your quiet family who live in our street. They have lived life in the limelight, and obviously chose for MJ to go out in the same way.
I am sorry Annina ,has lost her son ,as she says they had a nice private affair to say goodbye. She has her views ,same as us all and entitled to them.
As for calling MJ a filthy pervert there are many people who think the same. That is what she thinks, and that is what she said. Can it not be left like that.?

I think the daughter's speech was heartfelt and genuine.

Today I've heard a lot of people say that the memorial service was ott and dramatic...but...MJ comes from a culture where when you die your life is celebrated by family and friends

Julie, I've told oh that when I pop me clogs, I want my life to be celebrated.
I want a gospel choir, a good knees up in the pub and if anyone wears black they are so banned!

Jordan Chandler wasn't the only accuser. I doubt if we'll ever know the truth either way. some people will believe he's innocent, others will believe he's guilty and yet others will keep an open mind on the subject due to the lack of evidence available.

Hay, don't waste time sticking up for me, Iv'e got thick skin, after burying two of my children you learn.

I do think that we perhaps save our sympathies for our boys and girls out at war getting killed every day.

Lets face it, they have earned it, and for very little reward.

And don't forget, all you who think the sun shone out of MJ's backside,

There is no smoke without fire!!

Kate Burl

Kate Burl Report 8 Jul 2009 20:14

Hi Muffs x

Annina to be honest I am still undecided whether he was guilty or not.
A huge part of me thinks he was just a big kid who enjoyed the company of children in a completely innocent way.

Jane Report 8 Jul 2009 20:16

I wasn't sticking up for you Annina.I was just trying to say you have the right to say how you feel as do the rest of us.People are all different and have different views. As for smoke without fire....I don't know. But I know my OH thinks as you do as does my best friend.

Annina Report 8 Jul 2009 20:19

As for having two names, the name up above is the one my parents gave me, I don't feel the need to hide behind a ficticious one.

Or are you suggesting that I am Schitzophrenic, I may not be able to spell it , but know that I am not: a bit batty maybe, probably, all right then, I am.

As for strangling cats, you couldn't be further from the truth, I love my cats more than any thing in the world, family included.

There are, however, lots of folk that I would cheerfully throttle

Annina don't worry yourself about it, she might of just gotten out of the bed the wrong side this morning :)

I would like to point out as a general observation , not having a go, that there IS often
' smoke without fire'
both literally and metaphorically lol.

It was once strongly rumoured in the small village where i once lived that I was an 'exotic dancer' LOL if only it had been true :)

Hi Kate don't worry love, I enjoy a healthy debate, I'm just a short, fat, daft old fart, it all rolls off, i've got more important things to worry about than what folk think of me!!

Uggers

Uggers Report 8 Jul 2009 20:51

"No smoke without fire" is one of the most pointless and meaningless of expressions - anyone can accuse anyone of anything and there will always be stupid people who will trot that out as if it's a justification for spreading rumours about people.

ChAoTicintheNewYear

ChAoTicintheNewYear Report 8 Jul 2009 21:29

Oh just one word of advice before you go...maybe next time when there is a good disscusion going on it may be best you stick to the General board 'trying to save a whale' thread, as I'm sure you wouldn't want to spoil another thread on here ducks. LOL"

Kate,This is your Idea of a good debate!!O.MG get an education !!you really are showing your lack of it!

In the 80's I thought MJ was great, did go off him as he became stranger thought

I watched the memorial and did find it strange to see a memorial before he had even been laid to rest, but each to their own....................However not for one single minute do I think he would have wanted his children there in the media glare.......
He has protected them ( strangely with masks but protected them never the less ) I don't think he would want them to be put into a situation that will take their childhood away from them like his - and last night could just be the tip of the iceberg unfortunatley for them
