Thank you all, for the update. So glad that Joyce hasn't had another fall.
Like you all I can't understand why Joyce won't tell the doctor about her legs. The trouble is, if Joyce is only giving him half the ' story ', the doctor can't make a proper diagnosis. No offence mean't, Joyce!

Caz, how are you today? Had a chuckle when you said how you and hubby are like a comedy act, when he's trying to help you out of bed in the morning. Yes laughing is a good way to start the day. We have to see the funny side of life, otherwise we would go mad. I hope your arm is feeling a lot easier today.

Speak to you tomorrow.

Best wishes,

Sallie.

Have had a call off Joyce, it turns out that she hasn't had another fall, Carole Tinkerbell didn't know we already knew about the fall in Liverpool so put it up. Panic over. I asked her why she didn't tell doctor about her legs and she said she had a lot on her mind but was more worried about her arm and hand.
The phone is her mobile and playing up again so will speak to her on Wednesday when she is back in Liverpool. Her legs are not too bad now she is wearing her stockings but the cramp is back and that's why she is down at moment.

Its really worrying to hear Joyce is falling so much, she really needs to have a complete check up, I wonder if the falling is due to another problem, like everyone else we are baffled as to why she doesnt tell the doctors the full story.... Poor Jan must be so upset and worried, so come on Joyce like Liz said write a list, I know I always do , as I forget stuff....do be careful...

Glad you have managed some rest ,Caz keeping you in our thoughts...

Thanks ladies for all the updates. Been away up the mountain for the weekend and just got back - washing machine doing first load - so my excuse to get on the computer !!!
I do wish Joyce would tell all to the doctor - she is having too many falls. Please look after yourself Joyce.
Caz - glad to hear you have been sleeping better even though it means you wake up stiff - you take care too.

Thanks, Carole and Caz. Oh I am beginning to lose patience now, how could Joyce 'forget' to tell the doctor about her legs when she has been complaining about them to us for ages. There is possible a connection between the legs and the falls so it is crucial that she tells the doctor. It surely is not normal to have so many falls.

Joyce, go back and tell the doctor.

Caz. glad you have managed to get some sleep.

Morning all, I know now why she kept changing the subject when I asked about her legs, slapped wrists for you Joyce, lol.
I must agree that she sounded very down yesterday but she never mentioned another fall, just that her hand was blue and hurting and her bad knee was black and blue. The phone she was using was hopeless and she kept vanishing so we said we would talk today. I'll ask her about this second fall, thanks for letting us know Carole.

Thanks to those who asked, yes I have had a couple of good sleeps, trouble is I don't know which is best, if I sleep all night I am so stiff in the morning I can't move to get out of bed, lol. It's like a comedy routine with hubby trying to get me out without hurting me, we end up laughing, good way to start the day.

Words fail me!

Why on earth did Dutch 'forget' to tell the doctor about her leg? I told her to write a list so she didn't forget anything.

It's a shame she can't get to see Rachel but safer to stay away if there is swine flu about, with her being low already, it would be awful if she caught it and couldn't travel back before her birthday. I should think Jan is tearing his hair out lol

Joyce, fgs, talk to the doctor again before you come back.

Caz, hope you are feeling better. Thanks for updating us, and Carole too. I will try and catch up with phone calls this coming week when the jailer is at work lol

Love to all

Spoke to Dutch today, she has had another fall!! Hurt her other arm now. Fell in the street, and a car driver came over to help her.

Forgot to tell the Dr about her leg hurting.

I left her sounding more cheerfull after our chat. But she isn't really her normal self.

Caz thinking of you too xxx

Hello Caz,

Just seen your message. It would be better to stay away from Rachel's if they have symptoms of swine flu. It's so disappointing for Joyce, but best be sure than sorry.

I hope things are a bit better for you Caz, and that you are managing to get a nights sleep.

Speak to you tomorrow.

Best wishes,

Sallie.

Hi all, just popped on to see who has posted. Joyce rung this morning, disapointed because she rang Rachel and was told she could go visit if she wanted but her young son has all the symptoms of swine flu. Rachel has been told to keep them all indoors and doesn't think it's a good idea for Joyce to visit in case she catches it.
The phone line was terrible and kept cutting out so we didn't carry on, she will ring tomorrow no doubt.

Surprised by some of the comments on here.

Just wanted to add, we can't always be cheerful all of the time. It's great if we can face our troubles with humour and laughter but that is not always possible.

Sometimes people put a happy brave face on "in the real world" but this can be tiring. Sometimes people just want time away from family and friends to let the mask slip from time to time and say how they really feel.

Others come on here and have fun and try to forget "the real world"

Others don't bother posting at all.

There is no right or wrong answers or way to behave. People are just different and respond to things in different ways. If one thread is too cheerful or another thread too gloomy, why not avoid it?

Unless it is a debate (or has turned into a debate) or something breaches GR's terms and conditions, I cannot see why people can't avoid threads that they disagree with particularly if it's not that contentious. Just my opinion, doesn't mean I'm right either :)

I wish everyone that's posted on this thread well. To be honest, I don't usually read it as it's not my cup of tea but I wouldn't ask you to change your posts. You obviously are happy chatting with one another.

It was lovely seeing you in Liverpool Dutch. I found you nothing but bright and positive. Hope you feel better soon :)

Hello all, it doesn't sound like Joyce has told the doctor about her legs, she has just told me on the phone that her bad knee, the replacement one, is black and blue. Her hand is the same but very painful, the x-ray didn't show any break though but she can't use it.
She is getting the coach to Yorkshire at lunchtime to see her granddaughters, that should cheer her up.

Sorry about my messages being short and curt, the less time I spend on keyboard the better for the moment.
Hope you feel better soon LWD, I am finding the only comfy position at moment is on my side on the bed.
Had a good sleep last night Sally but I was on my back and couldn't turn on side to get out, hubby had to gently lever me over lol.

I hope Dutch remembered to tell the doctor everything, mind you she would have had to book a triple apptmt lol so maybe she is doing it in stages lol
I will try to talk with her over the weekend if I can and also to you Caz, hope you are feeling better love.

I hate it when o.h. is on the early shift and no overtime on Saturdays now so I get very little time to myself - drives me nuts as I can't make all my calls lol

take care folks,
