I'm oct too Mo, but as you get older the scales tip a liitle bit!! I hear myself sounding like my mum so often now, and I would NEVER have agreed with some of the things she said a few years ago!!

Have a lovely time Sylvia (in aus they would say have a "grouse time", sorry!!)

I finally had a shower about 3pm yesterday, only to have the water turn black, didn't read the council instructions where it said, once the water is reconnected run your garden hose until the pipes clear!! Ah well I'm a water conserver so it wouldn't have done much damage. Have a lovely sleep everyone, shall try and get into the library today, FT :) X

Hi all

I'm a Capricorn ...... January 7. OH is a Leo, August 18. Daughter Aries, March 24

I cannot find a posting missing

............ as it said "personal information", which I very rarely put on here, I went looking at recent postings on this thread and on Janey's "so...." thread where I had mentioned age and health.

Every posting I've looked for is still there

so heaven knows what has been deleted! I guess I will never know.

Hip is acting up ........... physio said I now had a bursa deep in my hip. This is a fluid-filled sac in the muscle. Treatment ..... rest, as little walking as possible, cold pack, pain killers

We leave for Nova Scotia tomorrow!!!! So, I'm sitting for a while, doing a bit of packing, sitting, etc etc

I'll see you all about June 13

don't do anything I wouldn't do!!

xxxxxxx

poor him being married to a gemini! tehehe

well we got married abroad so we were sort of already on honeymoon. - well it was November - it would have been raining over here. we got to sail off into the sunset - then of course we had to come back.

Sylvia - they must have you mistaken for someone else.

FT - thats interesting - i wonder if it is him?!?! hummmm (you smelly thing you - not washing) tehehe

Grouse, yep, someone must have had a grouse against you Sylvia!
Some people really should get out more.
Or maybe they have never heard of live and let live.

My parents went duck and grouse shooting on their honeymoon in scotland all those years ago.
Only they would spend a honeymoon hunting I guess.

Kirstie ,i am a january babe too,11th for me.

Oh I do wish some people would get a life, I cannot imagine in any way shape or form ANYTHING inappropriate coming from you Sylvia. And I do wish they would let you know the details, so you could defend yourself.

Kristie, don't get excited because I can't confirm it until I can get into the library, but a James Dale married an Ellen Dart in 1886 in launceston. Now lonny is at the other end of the island, but ellen was born in brighton which is a stones throw from hobart, the dates fit, and the places. Her parents must have moved to lonny, because their other children were born there. So if it's correct, then ellens parents were Ellen Cotter b 1834 and John Dart b 1829, m 1854. Can't leave the house today, the council are doing water works and we've been disconnected, so no showers !! FT

Kirstie Report 27 May 2009 00:20

Viv - thats what my oh says (about feeling younger) - i'm going to be 24 on June 2nd and he was 30 in January.

my grandparents get there first letter from the queens office this year - end of July for 60 years of marriage. they say the key to marriage is fighting every day!

Viv - i've never been attracted to anyone younger than myself but i guess that might come later.

how is everyone? hows the garden coming along Mo?
are you keeping up with your schedule Sylvia? FT - i wouldn't worry my uncle used to be a teacher before he swapped career's - he married an ex pupil! my other uncle married his ex primary school teacher!?!?! 10 years is nothing!
BTW - as your in a generous look up mood - any chance of you checking out an extremely elusive relative - James Dunbar Dale? born 1851 in Hobart to Henry David Dale and Janet Fell. i know loads about everyone else but hardly anything about this James Dunbar Dale - he also seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet - no one has his death anywhere. anyway only if you have time.

i think your right there viv, as my mum only started collecting her pension last year and she's the older parent.
however as you all said to me at the beginning way back on aogg's first thread (if the pensioners can remember that far back - DING DONG) your as young as you feel.

FannyByGaslight

MY part of the garden is dog free as they dig up my plants, chew off anything they fancy and pooh a lot!
I divided it up a couple of months ago,the dogs have 2 thirds of it as a big lawn and can watch me through the railings,
I get the smaller bit for pretty flowers that can now bloom in peace, and I can lie on my pooh free pocket hankerchief of lawn without being sat upon, jumped upon or licked to death.
Well some times I do lie their side so they can have the pleasure of doing just that.
One word from their mistress and they do just as they like!!

Linda

Linda Report 25 May 2009 00:18

Why is your garden dog free?? Lets hope minehead has a night while we're there. OH wants to do italy, france etc etc, but given that we're only coming for a month, and I have family from one end to t'other to catch up with, he may have to go on his own!! Off to town for a couple of hours, so shall call in later, nighty night !

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 25 May 2009 00:14

Butlins in Minehead.
60s and 70s weekends see us often.
But not until next year now,Im on an ecomising drive, then just for a change its a soul and blues weekend and over 18s only allowed,so no screaming brats....whoops, I meant to type" little darlings" to get under your feet!

Saw those this weekend ,and baby Owen is now 3 months and actually smiled at me instead of screaming when I picked him up,unlike his older brother and sister did when thay were tiny sprogs.
They love me now cos granny viv comes bearing gifts,
bribery and corruption gets you most anywhere I find!!

Sounds as though you did well to miss the wandering rover there ,hoping.

Linda

Linda Report 25 May 2009 00:03

No, still coughing and sneezing, but don't feel so rotten anymore!! I worked in zummerzet one year, at butlins as a table supervisor!! Sounds really posh, but what it meant was getting up at 5.30 and setting the tables for the first breakfast!! Is it still there? Tried my first glass of scrumpy there as well, out in the wilds, from a still, and after 1/2 a pint I couldn't walk!! The pay was very good for those days, and the hundreds of staff from all over england, meant plenty of romances for my girlfriends!! Not for me I was engaged 'back home', not that that lasted!! He ran off and married a girl he got preggers while I was away!! Lucky escape I always think!! FT :)
