I saw that dig about donkeys losing their hind legs, MoKe..nt
Last phone call I make to kent for some time then.
Well it will save me some money anyway.
Best delete my number from your little black book then madam!

Viv, that was a little *Dylan* Thomas there, for Thomas -- thought you'd like it, hope he would have.

Mo, the delete switch in question was the one wielded by the powers that be. ;)

Oh, and keep the donkey away from Viv. She'd just fall off it. Of course, if she'd already talked its hind leg off, small wonder if it threw her.

FannyByGaslight Report 21 May 2009 15:47

WHO HAS THEIR NAME IN LIGHTS THEN?????
I see a name that I recognise on success board.

And I am not talking JaneyCanuck here.
Or me come to that,,boo hoo, sobs, weeps ,wails

JaneyCanuck Report 21 May 2009 16:26

Huh! But now that you mention it ...

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 21 May 2009 17:19

Yeah, and did you see the thread she had been working on??
It would seem that all she has done is find some births and a marriage in Tas c1866 that no one else had found for some fella.
Honestly,, the lavish thanks some people get for hardly raising an eybrow!

I have had a very expensive weekend planned "for" me
My eldest will be 33 and next down will be 28 on monday so I am having to take them, their OHs, my grandkids and my parents out for a pub meal on sat night,oh and next son down says hes coming too,but his OH is going to alton towers for her sisters hen do so I get out of paying for her!
But shes the one I like, you know ,the undertakers daughter.
Now Thomas would be proud of me having one of those on me books, think of the savings we will make.
And we all know that he always said he was very "careful" with his money.
Short arms and long pockets I called it and he didnt disagree.
Trouble is they are all 160 miles away so I have to add on the cost of fuel there and back too.
Oh woe is me,my purse will be runneth dry by sunday night.
Mind you we are coming back on sunday so they cant plan any other things for me to pay for.
Thank evans tis but once a year.
I ave emptied me change bottle in preperation.
I hope they all like pickled eggs, crisps and tap water!!

Kirstie

Kirstie Report 22 May 2009 21:20

ah, Viv, did you not get the memo - parents always pay for meals out.
daddy dearest pays for at least one meal out a week for him, mummy, Alexis, Leila and myself and sometimes Charlie.
poor man. it gets worse - he funds the dogs dinners of Chicken Breast, Sausages or Tuna depending on the day of the week.

i hope you enjoy yourself though.

Who cant take it with them??
I can if I have my coffin made of gold, encrusted with jewels and then painted to look like wood.
Get buried at sea, and let them find out when they read my will AFTER the funeral!!!
If I had any to take with me of course

Kirstie

Kirstie Report 22 May 2009 21:50

Not long returned from Zummerzet.
Baked almost to a crisp coming down the m4.
Could have fried eggs on the dashboard.
Hottest day yet and I spend 4 hours in the car instead of in my nearly refurbished ,dog free garden.
Watch my luck and see it hissin down in carmarthen/cardiganshire tomorrow!!

Lovely ode there Kirstie,I will have to pull my" tights" up and get working on another one.

Linda

Linda Report 24 May 2009 23:26

Kirstie, I think you mean "Mo, that's a terrible habit", I can't find sylvia admitting to anything "orrible??

My nan used to run "the over 60's club" in Ashford when she was alive, and one of their favourite things was to take a busload of pensioners to bingo once a year. I went with them once, and was hooked. It was more the fun on the bus that they enjoyed, the sing songs on the way home, the sharing of the spoils (back then the prizes were chocolates and bottles of cherry brandy!!), and while the prizes are now money, I still go with a couple from sunderland who are in their 80's and it's the fun of catching up with others that they enjoy. Ah well.

Winter is def on it's way in, the tree's are bare and it's cold every morning, but it's my fave time of year, hope your summer is not too hot. That's why we're coming in Oct, not too hot, not too cold!! FT :) (who's on a mad diet so I look better for the trip!!))

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 24 May 2009 23:47

Has the Flu flown then hoping?
I hope our summer is hot,it will make a change from ruddy rain ,more rain and even more rain.
I used to go to bingo in dorset with my gran when I was about 14,local village hall, all elderly people but me and I loved it.
I even won a jar of honey once!!

Linda Report 25 May 2009 00:03

No, still coughing and sneezing, but don't feel so rotten anymore!! I worked in zummerzet one year, at butlins as a table supervisor!! Sounds really posh, but what it meant was getting up at 5.30 and setting the tables for the first breakfast!! Is it still there? Tried my first glass of scrumpy there as well, out in the wilds, from a still, and after 1/2 a pint I couldn't walk!! The pay was very good for those days, and the hundreds of staff from all over england, meant plenty of romances for my girlfriends!! Not for me I was engaged 'back home', not that that lasted!! He ran off and married a girl he got preggers while I was away!! Lucky escape I always think!! FT :)
