Rambling Report 19 May 2009 10:56

Sue Maid :) I had a 'tantrum' once ( well not a tantrum I just got so fed up and acted in haste lol) and deleted my account...next day having given myself a good kicking for being hot-headed (not to mention wasting money!) I asked GR if they could please let me at least have access till I recovered info from 'contacts' messages ... they very kindly just re- instated my account with original number so I was back again lol... presumambly that is what others have done too?

Got a reply from GR - so it seems we should all be paying the same for standard, , the only differance being 6 monthly for some who have been here for less time or have broken their run of membership..

Dear Elaine

I can confirm that you pay £9.95 for a years membership this is standard membership.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Joy, I tried to control myself - honest!

Sue, you didn't see the jumping-up-and-down bit, lol.

Tania - I should have known, as "tantrum" is widely used here. Doh. Thanks for that.

Well you would be too intelligent for Lynda's new site then Sue - pmsl

I'll have two quids worth Lynda then - thanks for the discount:

Just a thought, do you get a bigger discount each time you throw a "tanty" and then rejoin?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 19 May 2009 09:27

Well I know someone who supposedly deleted then came back with same membership number and all messages from said person were there in my message inbox. Maybe I'm thick but I don't see how that can happen.

Hi Tania - I wondered what you meant by a "tanty", then it registered!

If you ask me, I'm too mean to throw away a tenner (our yearly sub), so if I have a hissy fit, I do it in front of the computer, get up and walk away, then come back here, and nobody on here's any the wiser! :-))

*realises secret is now out*

you can't Sue! if you stop paying, then everything stays there (tree, contacts, membership number etc), but you might find yourself paying more when you rejoin. if you delete then you lose everything and have to start again, as I understand it.

however, anyone, whether they've registered, paid or neither, can read these boards - they just can't post.

Elaine, could it be that you got taken off continuous at some point so were delayed in renewing? or your card details changed and prevented continuous renewal? that's what happened to me - I'm now on 9.50 yearly rate even tho I've been here since 14 nov 2002.

Hello, Tan:)) It's getting to the stage where people are making bets on how long a member will be gone before they rejoin. I've no patience with it all - it's too dramatic for me.

Sue x

Edit - can someone tell me how you can delete and then come back with the same membership number and all contacts intact.

Penny

Penny Report 19 May 2009 07:19

How far does a tenner go? if you are desperate for attention, its worth the tenner, you could go down to your local and spend £10 in an hour or two - it last 6 months here, so in the great acheme of things I guess its cheap entertainment

Jean Durant

Jean Durant Report 19 May 2009 07:14

Me too Elaine....but if you leave and rejoin I understand it is £9.95 for 6 months.....so I'd have to think very carefully before
I threw a hissy fit and deleted.

Good Morning Tania.....are the new babies behaving themselves ?
