lolol Kitty.... I used to almost strangle myself every time I got de-kitted at school!! By the time I got my coat, scarf hat and gloves off, it was dinner time... off I'd toddle fer me dinner.... and then the teacher used to send me straight back to the cloakroom to start getting re-kitted ready to go home, lolol ;¬))

Hello Heidi... thank you *huge blush*. It was folk on here who kept me laughing, mind, lol..... and my original prognosis wasn't wonderful, so it was a case of get on with it or else, lol. I really have been one of the very lucky ones!! I hope your dad is ok now?

Jac please stop making me laugh... I might not have got pneumonia, but I did have chest problems, lolol.... like it got too big too young... I think my mum was trying to hide *them* lol It was about then I started having the really dodgy haircuts as well... I always got the trainee who had been there three weeks and had only ever swept the floor, never held a proper pair of scissors in their life, lol It was all part of a plot!!

I have had dodgy haircuts even now... and actually quite like my hair the length it is, lol..... about 1cm all over!!

Ever has a "perm" Daff? I can well remember my mum saying whenI was about 9 or 10 - I'll treat you to a perm cos your hair is so straight! Right I thought, lovely........ - WRONG!!!!!!!!

A bunch of frizz for months on end (and ginger with it as if the frizz wasnt bad enough!!) It took me ages to forgive her for that, not to mention the months it took for the scabs to drop off me earlobes from the blessed perm lotion)))))

I got through all my school years without nits, never had them once. Plenty of pulling about and tut tutting by the nit nurse though...

Then when my kids went to school, the almost constantly had them! Needless to say nit nurses had been abolished by then.

Oh Nooooo Jac.......not the dreaded perm......after one unsuccessful chop of my hair, my Mum decided to perm it......it seemed to be flat on the top and sprouting out sideways........and........my Sis and I had to sit for a photo......awful...... that photo was up on the wall for years......

Nitty-Nora the bug explorer??!
Heheh!

Daff - Dad's doing really well now, got another CT on Wednesday morning, as they found *something* on his liver, but they're not sure if it was because of the complications he had after his op (cancer of the oesophagus, removed the old one, made him a new 'un fby stretching his stomach up!) but so far, so good - *crosses EVERYTHING*.

Having a positive attitude, definitely helps I reckon. :o) Good luck & keep up the good work! Nice "chatting" to you.

I'm off to warm my spot on the sofa before anyone else gets it, I NEED to have the 40" screen 2' away from my face when Gene's on.....

I used to catch them from Susan W and was told to keep away from her but we were good mates and so I just had to put up with the itching...

Well, I never had nits until I was in my forties, lol... only got them once, which wasn't bad considering my job every other Sunday during term time was checking the children's hair as they returned to school... and the ones we'd cleared last week seemed to come back with another batch this, lol!!

My first and last perm was in the eighties... remember them? My hair was so thick and black that when I dried it with a hairdryer it just frizzed up!! If I allowed it to dry naturally it would take a good couple of days... it was one of those perms where there was a special comb put in. so the perm didn't go right to the scalp.... fortunate in my case, lol..... but stopped about an inch away from it... result? A flat head and MASSIVE hair at the sides, lol!! I managed about two weeks, and had a short back and sides, lol... remember Servelan in Blakes Severn? She was the baddie. Well......... that's how short!!

I did cut it with nail scissors once, when I was 13, lol!!

Heidi, glad dad is ok, and hope he gets the all-clear!

Kitty... we have a family of hedgehogs too... not sure where they have the babies, but one of theirs has stayed with them..... it is quite big now, and there are always a few teenies each year..... they are sooooo noisy, and Daddy hog does try to get in through the cat flap, lol Maybe he has two wives, and the third isn't one of their babies from a previous year?

Love

Daff xxxxx

Please forgive the long windedness..... have got a touch of it today, but I suppose it might be a more socially acceptable form of windyness, lolol!!
