Family legend on my Mums side of the family is that someone helped Bonnie Prince Charles ( something to do with the whole boat escape to Skye etc ) and for this help the chap was given a Hall and a crest etc.
Oddly enough I have found tentative links to this but can't can't the missing one that hooks up my Chisnall folk to the main " hub " in Lancashire..............this " legend " was old by Aunt Amanda , who apparently had someone trace the family tree many years ago..........but it's not impossible that she was just a wee bit gullible..........lol........having said that I haven't given up hope in finding the missing link.

And I can play the Skye Boat Song on an Ocarina : ))

I had almost all local ancestors until I started a different line.............I have just discovered some in Manchester.

They were originally from Ireland

I think this family might be my favourite so far as they have actually moved about a bit:)))

Yes Hayley........I have several photos of Aunt Amanda : ) she certainly has an odd twinkle in her eyes.........lol
I also have her locket ( which she is wearing in one of the photos circa 1890 ) Mum got the locket as she wasn't allowed the crystal ball........I'd LOVE to know where that ended up .

I think all women are the stronger sex when it comes to family life we are the back bone...and before anyone says owt I dont mean all men are useless well..if they can iron they ar'nt or every women I know seems to be apart from one couple whom we met on our last jollies.....they were in there late 50's early 60's and the look of shock on her face when I dared to disagree with her OH and him I thought he was going to burst a blood vessel...lol
