Hi Jean, thank you.
The hotel was fine, the public rooms have all been refurbished and modernised. Our room was comfortable and had all the facilities - shower, bath, kettle, twin beds but it was 'tired', needs decorating. had a nice sea view though. staff were all friendly, we were bed and breakfast and only had one dinner in which was OK. Breakfasts were fine, buffet for cereals and juice and then normal full English cooked - bacon, sausage, egg, beans tomato and hash brown, toast and marmalade etc. eggs any way you liked, or kipper, or cold ham.
The nights we didn't eat in the hotel, one we were at a golden wedding party, another we went out with friends but last night we ate at a very good Italin a stones throw from the hotel. Two nights entertainment, one was excellent we had seen him before, the other, a duo were OK but quite loud and all the songs sounded the same, we sat in the bar and listened to them.
Hotel was right on the front across the road from the promenade, town was a short walk through gardens, slightly uphill. promenade is long and flat with plenty of seats. Hotel is in large grounds with outside pool and several seats plus a sun terrace where you can sit with a drink. Big car park. We would go back.

Came home to find lots of veg had grown so thursday had our own carrots, peas and cabbage so delicious.
Hope this sunnier weather lasts as some of our tomato,s are finally turning red.
Hope everyone else are ok.

Welcome back Ann and glad you had a lovely time. I met up with a friend of yours and waved her off on her train today. Also met up with two other ex GR friends... We had hours of torrential rain last night after a sticky humid day but today was ok and we sat outside to eat and drink. Every year we meet up and for some strange reason, always end up drinking Limoncello after our food!. Nice to catch up:-)
Hope Daff is well today and everyone else as well...lol....am having an anxiety attack as son has asked if I would give a speech at the event....eeeeeeeeekkkkkkk!!

Hi Jean, We drove down, there was a coach in as well. But there is a train station if you could go by train, not far from the hotel so a taxi wouldn't be expensive.
BC, how lovely was S well? She was going to contact me or vice versa to meet up but we are both bad at getting in contact (always so much to do!!) I will have to think of something, maybe we can have them both over for lunch or something. Glad you had a nice day though and I am intrigues who the others were of course (well nosey is the word I suppose). You will give a wonderful speech, I am sure you have touched the blarney stone at some stage in your life, it will come in useful now!!!
Jean, I imagine Daff got talking to her parents then had a thousand phone calls and lots of other people to chat to so was not bothered about us ***sob*** Hope you are OK Daff.

Daff did say that they were going to put her old desk in place of what she was using for the PC, I wonder if she has problems re-connecting it all. I thought she may have phoned somebody though and left a message. Never mind, let us hope all is well and whatever the problem is it will be rectified soon cos I miss her!!!

Morning everyone.... *huge grin* I am back.... I am going to give Sky a piece of my mind.... I don't know what has been wrong, but we have had no broadband... lost it right in the middle of a lovely long post Friday night..... and nothing since........ sorry if I worried you..... I am fine, truly. Niggled cos I have been without my pc, but fine!!
Well... let's see... I found two mice, very very dead.... one behind the lounge door and one in the cupboard under the stairs... I am mortified... they must have stunk while they were rotting down!! R says that he could smell something, but couldn't figure out where it was coming from, but it didn't smell too bad.... of course, I still have virtually no sense of smell... funnily enough, what little I have seems to be for the more fragrant roses.... and I would have sniffed that out very early on!
I didn't get my desk sorted.... we had visitors, so hopefully it will be done today.... I can do it myself, have done on a number of occasions, but I can't reach the biggest section, it is right at the back of the garage.... and I am not sure I have the strength to carry it, at the moment... I would normally have dragged it around like a piece of cardboard.
My washing machine blocked up Friday evening... I bought some cheap throws a little while ago... lovely rich red... anyway, they needed a bit of a wash... it says hand wash on the label.... so I put them into the machine on the hand wash cycle, as you do! Well, the first two were fine, then I put the second two in... they are hand wash cos they disintegrate and murder your machine, not handwash cos they would commit hari kiri (sp)...... they bunged up my washing machine good and proper..... that was the last message I tried to get on here... does anyone know what error message three means on my breed of machine, lol.... they are no longer doing the destructions online! But my pc went dead... as did the tv..... although the tv came back later.
Well... I couldn't get the filter off... I guessed it might be that... so went to bed in a right old huff! Got up yesterday... crawled around on the floor trying to wrench the filter cap off....... then realised it was kept in with a screw, Doh!! Gathered a couple of old towels, and two tupperware containers... just in case there was a bit of a dribble, you know.... well, I was a Brownie, Be Prepared and all that! So.... off came the thingie.... and out gushed the water... the filter was really bunged up... found 20p and some make up brushes, and loads and loads and loads of red fluff.... by now, floor is soaked, tupperware is full, but all is well.... reach into the pipe with my fingers, and realise that is bunged up, too... so start teasing it out.... as one does...... LOADS of bright red fluff... then with a whoosh.... out came the last of it.... and the rest of the final rinse water.... Mmmmmmm.
One soaking wet irate lady of the house, one soaking kitchen floor.... family due within the hour for lunch, each bearing part of said lunch..... and one comatised hubby, blissfully sleeping throughout the whole tragedy!! Even the cats didn't want to know and legged it.... cept Jethro, of course... he tried paddling, to see if there was anything interesting in the puddle... then retreated to a safe distance and watched carefully!
Now.... well, my machine is purring softly....... it has felt so much better since I de-bunged it..... and I have given it lots of nice gentle stuff to wash, so it is happy.
Sorry Ann....... I didn't even think to phone anyone!! *holds hand out for slapping* (shamefaced lol)
I'll be back in a mo..... just need to put this washing on the line....
Love
Daff xxxxxx
