Glad all went ok for you Daff today. Enjoy your few days away Ann. We are taking my triplets away camping sun to wed at the Gower so hope we have fairly decent weather whilst my youngest goes on brownie pack hols. have had quite a few appointments these last couple of weeks for my children and still have several orthodontist appointments with one of my sons. Keeps use busy in the school hols. Still enjoying our own veg just needs the sun for our tomato,s.

Hi Star, enjoy the camping, have to say rather you than me but I am sure you will have fun. Yes I noticed the dentist had a continual trail of children, one woman came in with five of various ages up to teenage!!! A job lot I guess, get them all over at once.

Star, where on the Gower? It's such a lovely area, I would love to spend more time there, but definitely not in a tent lol Don't do camping, my son was amazed when he saw me enjoying the caravan we had for a couple of summers locally, but when there were tents involved I sent him with the scouts or family friends, and I stayed home lol

my son is camping on the broads ,so i am loing forward to all the washing next sunday !!! not although as he has got older he does just bring washing home now and not the rubbish as well !!

BC... could you get away with a tiara??? I'm not sure where mine is... I think it is with my ex DiL....... it is gold, with rubies.. not real ones, you understand!! But they do look just like the real thing.... only someone impolite enough to bite it, would know.......... have you managed to get a little sample yet?

Ann...... to get a sample.... buy a custard tart or two (every so often, I like one of those) then, after you have eaten... wash out the foil thingy well... then use that, and pour contents into little phial... bingo!!

Or use a flora carton, lololol

Maz, he still has all his rubbish stored in my garage and loft, lol About the young cat.... I never had a problem integrating a young kitten into the household... sparks flew, generally, when I introduced an older cat into an established household. I had a bit of jealousy, but the older cats were very good with the kittens... just a bit of a hiss, spit and swipe once in a while to remind the babies of the hierarchy, lol..... they don't curl up together... but they will curl up on the same sofa, making sure they don't touch.... but no nastiness. Oh, and it has been my experience that introducing a young male is easier than a young female... that is if the males have all been neutered (if they are the older ones) at a youngish age.

Star.... have a lovely couple of days.... I do hope the weather improves for you, though! The Gower coast is beautiful, isn't it? We are very lucky in this country, I think... we have the most fantastic and diverse scenery in the world... just wish the weather was a little more predictable, that's all.

Me too, Liz.... I like a bit of pampering when I go away, I do!!

Morning Daff, Havent been on much, I think this awful weather just gets me down, cant seem to whip up any enthusiasm, to get ready to go out....
how are you now after the latest hospital visit? hope you are not in any pain,
just had a clear out of all my craft stuff, I am only going to do scrapbooks now done so many cards over the years and accumulated so much stuff,so just need to disperse of a few things.....the clematis are making lots of foliage, my lovey hydrangea has not flowered as well this year, made more leaves, still time to get a few more blooms on before winter. have a good weekend ....

Good morning Daff and all:-) I had about nine hours sleep and have woken up feeling terrific...in spite of eating spicy curry and drinking loads of wine. My pal was suffering a bit, having taken HRT for ten years she is now being weaned off and has been thrown right back into hot sweats, tears, etc, and she is 59! . My lodger, on the other hand, who is 40 said she had her menopause for six months and now she is back to normal?. Surely not? lol It's so long ago since I had mine I cant remember much...

Lovely day here, very warm and a bit humid, but no rain! Thanks Taff and Daf for the offers of heargear:-) I may knock on your doors if I can't find anything suitable....Am off to park, dont have to. collect sample until Tuesday!

We are staying on a farm near Penmaen, never stayed at the Gower so if we like the area and the farm we will certainly book again.

Just because i say we go camping it doent mean i enjoy it lol but i do it for my children(it doesnt do my arthritis much good) .

Daff, I can do without many things and could cope with a caravan with no loo, or shower lol - a dash through dew sodden grass to the loo block in the night was ok in 1997/9 but it wouldn't be so acceptable ten years on lol


I just googled Penmaen to see where it was, as we drove round the Gower on one visit and photographed some castles, we might have done the one here.

A scatter of houses on the A4118 South Gower Road, Penmaen (meaning Stone Top) sits beneath the sharp rise of Cefn Bryn, the second highest point on Gower. Surrounding the small village is a rich array of archaeological sites and remarkable scenery.

The most important centres in the vicinity, Parkmill, on the A4118, and Southgate, on the B4436, lie about a mile to the east. At the western end of Parkmill is the Gower Heritage Centre, an engaging cluster of craft workshops, teashops and other family attractions around a 12th-century water mill. At the eastern end of Parkmill are Kilvrough Manor Woods, 18.5 acres of ancient broadleaved woodland. The nearest access to the coast by car is from the car park at the southern end of Southgate.



Some of the most impressive coastline in Gower greets those prepared to walk. Southgate provides access to the footpaths along the majestic limestone Pennard Cliffs, which are dotted with many important bone caves, offering proof that humans arrived on Gower an amazing 19 millennia ago. Not all the caves have yet been thoroughly excavated, and some are too dangerous for amateurs to tackle without local guidance.

There was a forecast on the site and it looked set fair for this weekend so hope the good weather continues, Star and you have a lovely time. Hope the arthritis isn't too bad while you are there. If I got down on the floor in a tent I would have a job to get up again a few hours later, if I even managed to sleep lol, what with creepy crawlies being too close for comfort lol

Been into town, ending with a meal in Weatherspoons which, being Saturday was quite un-memorable. However the bottle of wine was good, which is the reason I need to keep going back and adjusting my typing.

Visited Glos Quays and bought a skirt in M&S Outlet plus some sraft stuff in The Works.

I suppose I should be planning what I am supposed to pack tomorrow for Exmouth but somehow can't get enthusiastic. With the weather being like it is not sure what we will be doing at the seaside!!!! Better pack, umbrella, wet weather coat etc I suppose. Don't think swim suit is an option, even the hotel pool is an outside one!!

Ann can you tell me which hotel you are staying at, J and I fancy a trip to Exmouth, perhaps you could p.m. me the name if we shouldnt be putting it on here, thanks,

We are staying at a Sh******s hotel. Not stayed there before so don't know what it is like. It is the more expensive of the two sh******s hotels and we are staying B&B. We have upgraded to a sea view room which made it over £400 for 4 nights!!! The breakfasts better be good!!! Will PM you the name
