Morning Daff, hope you had a comfortable night:-) Nice, bright morning here, am off to the park soon. But,Maz, re the blackberry picking manoover...can I pass on that and leave it to our more robust buddies? I would simply ruin my nails!! I could peel grapes if you like:-)

Morning Daff and troops

Hope you had a good night Daff and are nice and comfy in your uniform.

Maz - can I be excused bramble picking too? I wouldn't know the difference between and bramble and a blackberry so I'm not sure what sort of jam you would end up with. Thanks for breakfast again though (you're getting good at the breakfast manoover).

Elisabeth Report 9 Sep 2010 11:12

Morning Daff and troops,

Sorry I am late on parade but I have been to have my hair cut. I am not up to much marching now and I am really relaxed after all that pampering. Nothing like having a scalp massage first thing in the morning - trouble is I don't feel like doing any h.....work now!

I hope the nurses are taking great care of you Daff, and that that Top Man Doctor is ready to work his magic on you, so that you are back on parade very soon.

Love,
Elisabeth xxx

Afternoon troops and Daff
And Susan (with numbers), stay on here girl, we'll look after you in Daff's absence.

Am also excused bramble picking 'cos I haven't seen any here.

R, know how you feel, we have just had to re-acqaint ourselves with a different white machine.

MrDaff Report 9 Sep 2010 12:36

Afternoon all!!! Tis me....... they have all been exhausted by me, and have sent me home for the day so the ward can return to normality, lolol I have to be back by 9pm, or I'll be turned into something.. pumpkin, frog, whatever..... *ribbit*

I have laughed my socks off reading through this lot, lolol.... you are doing a wonderful job...I can just see you all.,

poor R has a cold, and was given a rough time by the physio.... so he hasn't been about... I think he went to bed early last night (him and Top Doctor Man both have a touch of the sniffles, and are acting like they have man flu, for goodness sake!! Milking the sympathy for all they're worth.

I had another biopsy yesterday.... this one was so easy, it was totally painless!! The other was well cocked up, and was more blood than marrow... so the results weren't conclusive. This last one was... it is definitely a relapse of the original AML... I have the growth hormone stuff tomorrow, and then 24 hours later in with the chemo... Saturday. Technically, the stage the leukaemia is at, I should be waiting another week or so, as it is supposed to reach a certain level, but they have over-ruled that because of the problems I have recovering... and how many courses I have will depend entirely on that first recovery... the first course will be three different chemos every day over 6 days, with a fourth on alternate days. He is hoping that I manage a second course, and then the transplant after that. But it is very much a case of playing it by ear.

I have been having a ball, though, as it has been like meeting up with old friends. Some of them have been more tearful than me, bless them xxxxxxxxxx

I had a lovely parcel to come home to... the postmark etc leaves me to believe that it is from Gwyn in Kent... but it isn't her writing, so am flummoxed!!

The contents are magnificent! The orange poncho is perfect... and the lime green bedsocks... the timer for timing manoovers is a brilliant idea, and I love the multi coloured whistles... I have to test drive them first to make sure the sounds match the colours... subtle bracelet is perfect with the Pat Butcher bling.... love the notelet things... and the smiley pouch will actually be used to house my Hickman connectors once the line is in... I just need to thread a piece of bright pink ribbon through it to act as drawstrings.

And the sequinned headbands for mufti wear.... magnificent!! lolol. Thank you so very much, if it wasn't sent by Gwyn, whoever thought it up.... I have wmsl as I opened each item, lolol

R has ordered a new dongle, and it will be ready to collect tomorrow, so I shall be online by the weekend... well, as long as there is a decent signal, and/or feeling ok, anyway.

Ginny, everyone has commented on your card, by the way... when they see me in my new uniform bits they will be very very impressed.

Right then... off I go for a sleep in my own bed, lol... and then a nice hot shower... bliss!!!

Take care, and thank you, everyone, it really does make things easier knowing there are so many people thinking positively!... Susanwiv, I have seen that now, you great big softie, lolol

Oh, and my chemo regime is called *FLAG IDA* lol......

Love and ((((hugs)))))

Hi Daff

Good to see you back at home for a day or so - well, not quite but it must be good to be home.

All the extras to the uniform sound wonderful. We'll show that Strictly lot what's what. Let's hope Ida looks as good in her uniform as you do.

Trust men to make such a fuss about a sniffle. I'm always telling my OH I can never be ill on my own but R is taking it to the extremes methinks.

We're slowing getting ourselves organised as a troop and Maz is working well with jam-making but it seems she could have trouble getting some brambles :-(

Take care of yourself

Hi Daff, lovely to hear that you have been home if only for the day.
Thank you for the comment about my card and what a lovely surprise from your anon parcel sender. Well done whoever sent it.

Maz, I have left a big basket of blackberries for you to make some jam, my neighbour has tons of the things in his jungle so I have fought my way through the branches and shrubs to get them for you also left some pears, apples and cherries in case anyone feels peckish, I hope he didn't notice me as I trampled over the weeds I was wearing full uniform and now have a few green leaves in with my pink feathers on my hat, very stylish I think.

I trust R has a matching face mask to wear so he doesn't spread any sniffles around , a nice orange one with lime green ties would be ideal me thinks with perhaps some manly type bling on it. What do you think?

Love and hugs to you Daff and a wave to Mr Daff as I don't know if he does hugs from strange women. (my OH says I am VERY strange lol)

Susan with numbers don't be fretting we will look after you when Daff isn't here, there are plenty of jobs to be done on this thread (hehehe)

Evening Daff, Mr Daff and all,

I've prepared the tea, and came on to see what was occuring and there you were, on day release.

I'm glad the biopsy wasn't too bad.

Don't go snuggling up to that poor chap with the sniffles and catching any of his germs. (I mean Mr Daff not your Top Man Doctor!) We need you in tip-top condition to keep an eye on our square bashing and polishing of buttons and glitter.

Have a good evening before you have to go back. We shall all be flying the IDA flag.

Lots of love,
Elisabeth xx

Well, I have slept like a log, had a nice long hot shower, and am all ready to sit and watch tv for a bit before going back in. We shall catch a McDonalds (how decadent, but I won't be able to have one for months, and that is when I shall fancy one, I guarantee it) on the way back.

I have packed all those essential items I forgot, including a pillow and a mirror... I even forgot a hairbrush, how daft is that? It'll be a couple of weeks before the hair starts to drop out, too

*sobs* Nooooooo there was no young Simon in my inbox... unless I missed it????

Right... off to look, and then to watch telly with Man Flu man, lolol

Take care

Love and loads of (((((hugs)))))
