Thank you everyone!!

Bald statement? I go in next Wednesday, have the Hickman line in on Thursday morning, chemo starts probably Thursday pm but definitely by Friday. Those are definites, now, so at least we know where we stand.

The bloods and initial scans of the marrow say that the blasts (cancerous cells) have multiplied, my bloods have dropped rather a lot, and although they are not definitely *relapse* rather than a new and chronic sort of Leukaemia, all other signs show that they are most likely to be my AML back (relapse), and so they are going straight in now. I'll still need the transplant, whatever.

The full extent of the treatment (one, two or three courses before transplant) isn't known yet, but it is definitely chemo and transplant, no getting away from it.

The biopsy was horrendous, the most painful yet.. had to have gas and air (wonderful, lolol I want to be on it all the time, lolol)!

So... I need to go and get a nice new dressing gown, lolol And a baby toothbrush and toothpaste, and some nice moist loo paper....

See you all later... the gas and air has made me sleepy, lazy cat that I am...

I am off to lie down in a mo.

R is on the phone to his boss, sorting things out. He will probably go in on Monday and Tuesday to do all the ppaperwork he needs to do. They are being very very good.

I will speak later, when I have my head wrapped around it... although as we more or less knew, there was just that slight chance that it was just a blip, but not a real chance. It is almost a relief to be getting on with things.

Love and ((((hugs))))

Oh Daff, I'm so sorry you have to go through all this again.

The army are here and in ship-shape to see you through.

Hopefully the dressing gown will be bright orange and the bed socks will be bright green. (Must have you matching). Maybe you would like one of those bed hats with the bobble on the end. I'm sure I've seen a fetching pink one. At least it will keep your head warm.

Take care of yourself - we're all thinking about you.

MrDaff Report 3 Sep 2010 18:44

Bedsocks are pink and blue... but I shall get a bright green bed hat, lol.... limegreen, with sparkles on it... I warn you all, though, that I do not like to wear scarves or wigs... I go naked, so I do, lolol So it will be my parade hat only..... just for show!!

I have a picture on my FB of the uniform..... anyone wishing to see it, let me know and I will pm you the link...... be afraid, be very afraid, lol... actually, it looks rather good!! Surprisingly. Thank you Ginny......

Daff, you will fight it better now you know what you are up against. Get yourself a fleece throw to take in,I find them so light and yet warmer than my wool blankets. Got cold last night with getting ou to the loo, and took mine in to the bed as a 'cuddly'. Its actually a dog blanket!
