Elisabeth Report 24 Aug 2010 15:30

Afternoon SM Daff and troops.

Reporting for duty - with shiny boots and buttons.

It is very windy here and have just had to chase a large tub with 6' canes, covered in sweet peas. It was bowling across the patio!! It is now wedged between a hydrangea and the twisted hazel. These tubs are always a problem in the wind.

I hope Daff is refreshed after her visitors, though Littlie will still be keeping her busy I think. Hope you managed to get a new keyboard. (There is a spare one in the study if you need it!)

Have a happy afternoon

Morning Daff and fellow troops. Great turnout climbing the Pennines yesterday and a big thank you to Maz for her generosity in providing sustenance, sorry we left you to carry out the empties:-)) A kind farmer gave us a lift back on his tractor and we sang jolly songs for him.

Have to go off now and meet a woman I haven't seen in 50 years,we used to work together in Ireland..Haven't a clue what she looks like now! Should be fun at the train station.lol

Daff, hope you are being a good girl *glares a bit...

Hi Daff and troops ~~~~~~~~~~~

It looks like I missed out on some fun yesterday *makes a note to make more effort in future*

I hope all are well and you're not overdoing things Daff. I thought you were supposed to be resting *adds my glares to BC's*

Let me know what manoovers there are today and I'll try to get there this time.

I didn't go out yesterday... I was too tired, and went to bed instead, lol... in fact, I am back to bed soon again, as I am very tired again today. It goes like that. Spurts of energy and then absolutely shattered for a few days. So I am just going to put my feet up and chill out. *smiles sweetly back at BC and Beverley*

BC I bet you she hasn't changed a bit.... I have just had a contact from someone I last saw when I was 11, and although she is clearly older, you can still see the young girl she was. Have a lovely day.

I am back to bed with a nice cuppa and my codeword book....I ned to do my homework for secret operations and manoovers. I would tell you all about it, but I would have to shoot you. I'm not sure whether that is before or after I have told you :¬S

Have a lovely day everyone

Love and ((((hugs))))

Afternoon Daff and all, no that should be good evening. (Where did the day go?)

Hope you have been having a good rest Daff and you will wake refreshed.

I have been to visit a friend this afternoon. I took her a gorgeous smelling posy of sweet peas and came home with - a carrier bag of bramleys, three different types of tomatoes, runner beans, a little punnet of raspberries and two freshly made bread rolls. Somehow I think I had the better deal!

Have a peaceful evening.

Morning everyone

A bit late this morning but I'm putting myself in charge of manoovers.

Now - everyone grab some rope - we're going to be practising tying knots.

That's right - wrap the rope around Daff, and tie her to the chair making sure her arms are free. Make sure there is drink, food, keyboard and puzzle books close enough so she can reach.

Manoovers over - back to what you were doing.

We will make you rest Daff!!

*waiting for man-oover instructions and hope it involves massage, manicure or manipulation....

Lolol I am back... my internet (and more to the point, Sky telly!!) has been on and off all day, then my Kaspersky went up the swannee, grrrrrr.. but I have been chatting on the phone to Supercrutch, and also zoomed off with Littlie who is back to her cheerful self now... we couldn't find a bike, well, we did, but they didn't have that one in a big girls, only in a baby size so she refused to look at any others. Not sulky, just knew what she wanted, and if she couldn't have it she'd rather go without. So off we went to Mothercare, where she found a small toy that was *just what mine wants* so as it was only £12 I bought her some knickers, tights, 4 school blouses, her navy school pinafore x 2 and a navy and purple swimming costume. Mummy can get the rest, but I won't let them take that little bit of pleasure from me, lolol... She tried them on at home, and refused to take them off, lol... so they are now in the wash, as they got her icecream all over them... I had a tear in my eye, she looks so young yet old and soooooo cute! I have put her name tapes in them all, as well...

She is now running around naked refusing to put her jim jams on.... the wench... have you been teaching her, BC? lolol

I shall probably be having another early night.... Mind, madam goes home tomorrow, so the house will be as quiet as a crypt. She probably won't be back until half term, either, which is October. :¬(

Right, off to read a bedtime story... the naked princess is now all sorted in her jim jams...

Take care everyone

Evening Daff,

Sorry you have been having 'puter problems - always so annoying, especially if you really need to use it.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when you take Littlie shopping. She obviously knows just what she wants and will go far in life! She must have looked a real picture in her new school uniform. It is always such a special moment even if they only look tidy for a few seconds.

Hope you have had a cuddly storytime and are now resting with a good book. Sleep peacefully.

Love,

Morning all, Elisabeth, I slept like a log last night, thank you, as son went to bed at a reasonable time and wasn't prowling around until 5am, lolol... busy morning ahead, but then I can relax and do my own thing.

Littlie's clothes are all ironed and ready to be packed in her suitcase... the clothes she wore down are clean, ironed and ready for her to wear back. I have bought her the absolute minimum in the way of school uniform, but that is all pressed, name tags sewn in, and ready to be packed. All I need now is for madam to wake up and then I can drown her in the shower.. that is not a literal drown, lol it is where I have got her used to having water over her face by turning it into a waterfall game, only the idea is not to drown... she is a real giggler, as her fear of the water on her face has turned into a real pleasure for her. It was done very gently at first, I can assure you. Just in case you are about to report me to The RSPP (Royal Society for the Protection of Princesses, lol)

Yesterday, while we were out, I noticed that although we had gone out for a bike, she was absolutely enthralled with the keyboards. At first she just bashed on them, laughing., so I suggested that if she did it more gently, maybe she would get some really good music. To my astonishment, she spread her fingers out as a pianist would, and proceeded to *play* with a style and panache that would do credit to a concert pianist... she twiddled a couple of buttons and suchlike and tried out the different sounds... and then settled on the jazz sound. I was absolutely enthralled just watching her, she was rapt! I mentioned it to my son last night, and he was really proud... and then he suddenly remembered that she spends a lot of time at a friends, whose daddy and mummy are friends of my son as well... mummy uses them to babysit and have madam on sleepovers at least twice a week, on her days off.

Anyway, J, (friend's daddy) is very musical (he studied as a musical technician at uni, got his degree, but became a daddy, so decided that the travelling around with bands wasn't good for family life) anyway, he plays keyboard, the family have a piano, and he plays lots of other instruments as well... so they have a lot of sing songs around the piano. I hadn't known that. But it has certainly rubbed off on Littlie.

I shall watch out for that, as most of my family are very very musically and artistically talented (the gene missed me, lol) so if she has got a love for music, I would want that to be nurtured if possible. One of my sisters had the choice of Art college or Royal College of Music... she liked to paint more than she liked to play.

You never know!! Our other Littlie has a talent for swimming, and also for numbers, she is working at age 7 stuff and she is just 5. They are a pair of little geniuses!! *Puffs up with pride*

Well, the Princess has stirred.. I can hear her talking to Grampy, so best I get a move on, she'll be wanting her breakfast soon, lol

Elisabeth Report 27 Aug 2010 12:22

Afternoon (just) SM Daff and all,

Littlie certainly sounds to have a musical ear - shame I have sent off out two little keyboards to the charity shop. She could have had one. The boys never did make any music with them, apart from the inbuilt rhythms and some random sounds!

Mummo - not surprising you can't be bothered to go away. I think you have had enough to cope with lately and perhaps just need to 'chill' for a while.

I have been really busy - was in Morrisons just after 8am, back home by 9, done two loads of washing, attacked some of the moss on the drive where the sun doesn't get, and we don't drive the car. Been to watch a steam train passing on the main line - yes I know I am an anorak! I thought I had the wrong time as I was the only one there. Normally there would be a dozen or more at our little crossing. I did get a personal wave from the engine driver and fireman! Nothing quite like a steam train.

I have just given an ear-bashing to a man cold calling me to tell me if I have not replaced my kitchen in the last five years, it is time it was done. I pointed out I was x-directory and registered with TPS. He tried to tell me I had to renew that annually. I pointed out he was totally wrong!! Or words to that effect.

Right - time for a sandwich and then on to cut some lawns.

Have a good afternoon - hopes the sun shines on you.
