I think we would have heard if it was good news. Unless.... they have gone to visit Dad in hospital.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 17 Aug 2010 17:58

Phew... well, what a performance!!

First of all, I refused to part with any blood... they (please note the *they* as 4 different nurses were involved in this attempt to bleed me dry!!) tried my arms, hands, wrists, then went to my feet. One of the nurses does not do feet, and she had to leave the room quickly.

Anyway, eventually enough blood was dragged kicking and screaming from my body....

Then in to see Top Doctor Man. The bone marrow cytogenetics were inconclusive, so they still don't know what the diagnosis is, which malignancy they have to treat. I have to go back on the 3rd September for another, unless I get a temperature, an extended bleed or a cough between now and then, and then it will be straight in.

The odd thing is, some of my bloods have continued to drop quite a bit, but others have risen a bit, which does give them a little bit of a conundrum... that shouldn't be happening.

This has led him to say that although he is almost certain that more chemo and a transplant is going to be involved, there is a very very remote chance that it is something else entirely, and that it will sort itself out. But he doesn't know what. My marrow is not parting with it's secrets just yet, lolol

So, I have just over two weeks to party, eat daft foods etc etc... but need to keep away from people with sniffles and suchlike for a bit. In other words, be sensible... not much fun in that is there? lolol

I am not sure whether to be relieved, or what... I would like to get it sorted one way or another, but obviously don't want to start with the process of chemo and transplant if it is unnecessary, remote though that possibility is. I am not currently in any danger, they do have a couple of weeks to twiddle their thumbs and whistle whilst my body decides which course to take, lol

So.... back to waiting. *sighs*

So... do you all need a two week pass???

Thank you so much for being there with me, it really helped a lot.

Take care

Love

Breathes sigh of relief, I was imagining you whipped in. But it is frustrating, although always good to have a little ray of some hope.

So are you standing us down for two weeks, maybe with a few days of intensive 'exercises' to make sure the 'enemy' knows we are still active. (* well as active as we can be!)

how is your Dad?

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 17 Aug 2010 18:39

Mine are firmly crossed, too, Joy!! Mwah xxx

Ann, that is exactly how I feel, but then., I remember that I thought it was a virus in the first place, and was soooo gutted last week... I am just a whole mix of extreme emotions at the moment, lol.... R has just poured me a sherry, so I shall be fine later, lolol

TDM is very wary of coming down on one side or the other.... as he said, I am an unknown entity (no rude comments, lolol).... and how I am feeling now is pretty much how I was feeling leading into the initial diagnosis, so this may just be the way mine goes at the start.

So... all my balls are in the air, and there is no way of knowing yet how they are going to land. ;¬))

Dad is doing well... lots of whinging, and demanding to be allowed home.... he does hate hospitals so much. Mum was thrilled to bits this morning when she woke up knowing he is in hospital... she was beginning to get confused, and thought he had gone to Portugal or my brother. Bless her! That is why I had to get to the hospital quickly... good thing I did, as she was on her way to the eye clinic, lol she had forgotten why she had been in the ambulance. The crew immediately realised what was happening, so kept her with them for a bit, but had to leave just before I got there.

I am off for a little bit of remedial glass lifting, lol..... thank you all so much

Love and ((((hugs)))))

Hi Daff and all ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So, I'm on waiting manoovers. I'm all set - ready to wait. I'm good at this. I could probably manage a few arm lifting manoovers while I wait.

So......... *drums fingers* - I'm waiting (and drinking coffee)

Hope all is well Daff

Morning Daff and all.

And if you dont mind me saying so, some of our Tango Army are getting a bit sloppy, stopping to paint their toenails...*glares at Gwynnie, drinking coffee, and at least TWO have been found behind the bikeshed fagging it.. Tsk tsk

So I have had a message from the SM (wellll I THINK it was her:-)that we should don our kit and do a hike through Scunthorpe. Full kit please and including the pink hat and lime leggings. All spangles to be fully shined. We are going on a reconnaisance mission...*winks..

Will meet at the crossroads...*consults map....

'Morning Daff and all,

Sorry to hear of the latest non- answers, but we will muster troops to continue training.
Are BC and Beverley any good at map reading?
Will they lead us astray?

Is anyone in need of an orange badge or two to enhance their outfit?
To some they may look rather like plastic milk bottle tops, but a bit of D.I.Y will surely make them very attractive.
PLENTY available !

*Sorry. It's all my years of recycling useful (? ) things for the local school, coming to the fore*

ButtercupFields Report 18 Aug 2010 11:18

I am sure orange badges would be very useful, Gwyn, especially if they have Kiss Me Quick on em...oops forgot where I was for a mo....*blushes.

Beverley, yes that is the right crossroad and if you could all watch out for flying hedgehogs as they are plagued by them I hear. Carol,a bit of arm bending involved:-))) lol
