~~~~~~waves to Ann, Ginnie, BC and Julia... well, what a day!!
Ginnie, I have been a Domestic Goddess today, too.....I have not stopped, so much for chilling out in the garden, lol.
I have been buzzing with energy, it is such a long time since I had so much... brilliant.
I have deadheaded, cut down branches and cleared some ivy, potted on some plants, cleaned the decking and prepped it ready for that R*****l (does what it says on the tin, lol) stuff to go on it tomorrow, moved pots around, repaired the garden parasol, weeded, and then weeded again, made a lovely dinner, and cleaned up after me..... everything has had a thorough soaking (plants, cats toads and also frogs), I have vacuumed through downstairs, and I still feel restless. I need to relax now. I know it is the steroids... that's how it affects me, it is very dramatic, to say the least, and it does feel rather wonderful. But I have taken care to sit still and enjoy fairly regularly.
This weather is supposed to stay in all week here, so it is *outdoors* work and then next week I shall start on the indoors stuff... a late spring clean, lol
Ann, enjoy time with your sister. Just sit in your lovely garden and relax. Oh, and talk, lol
BC, she does sound rather a feisty Dragon, doesn't she?? Pleased she seemed to enjoy herself.... but, erm *frets* what if she starts turning up every Monday??
Julia, our shed was like that, a hot house, I can just imagine what the greenhouse must have been like. I had all the windows open wide in here so it wasn't too bad, but tomorrow I might dig out the big fan as well for that bit of extra. I have a small one in my bedroom, and that might be switched on tonight, too.
*sighs* I love him dearly, really I do, and so please do not think I wish to change a single thing about him. But hubby has just got back from the shop. He went for ciggies. They had some nice size pots in there last time I was in, a bit smaller than the ones I have and I want to put the camellia into them. So he has remembered (all on his own!!) come back with 2 twice the size, the wrong compost (I know, I know... but we have 6 bags of the other stuff, and he just bought more of the same, lol) but, bless him, a nice bottle of sherry, so I shall enjoy a glass or two of that. But he did his back in a couple of weeks ago, and he shouldn't have been lifting stuff, anyway. Grrrrrr!!
Right then, off for a nice shower, and then early to bed, I think. Nothng much on the telly I want to watch, so an early night will do me good.
Take care all, see you in the morning
Love
Morning all... looks like another beautiful day here. I have just opened all the windows... a bit chilly until the sun just breaks the top of the trees in about 20 minutes, and then this little spot where my pc is will have sun until about 3.30pm. Which is why I got the little parasol, as it makes a huge difference on a sunny day.
Maz, that sounds like great fun... when I worked in a residential school, the water fights were much loved on a hot day, by staff and children alike, lol
Ann, I don't think I have seen that one, either... are you off out today?
I am staying put. I want to cut back some of the Clematis Montana which is coming over from next door. It is stunningly beautiful in the spring, but is taking over now, and the lads are a bit reluctant to cut it back too drastically... a bit of a trim now, and next spring will be glorious. The one lad has a mum who is of the *chop off their heads* style of gardening, and all done at the same time of year. So she cut back all the summer growth on the one fence last Autumn and couldn't reach mine. Strange how my side had a beautiful display, and the other fence barely a flower. Anyway, I asked the boys (33 and 43, lol) if I could give it a haircut, and they have said yes. So we shall see what happens next spring.
Later on, we shall be sorting the decking out with the stuff we have had for 3 years for it, lol
I am not sure what we are having for dinner, I need to rummage in the freezer... there is enough of yesterdays tortilla for a light lunch, so that is good.
Right, off to take the magic pills, and then sit in the garden with my breakfast. Then into the slog. I shall have to wait for R to get up for some of it, though.
Love
Morning Daff and All,another gawjus day here,deep blue sky and not a cloud in sight.
I keep imagining everyone's garden and I must say they are all stunning! The climate has been strange this year but for the best I think as everything seems to be rampant lol......lots of rain,then lots of sun,then lots of rain then....
The Montana over our garden fence Daff is massive this Summer,I've had to put 'guards' around the other plants to stop the takeover,or we wouldn't have been able to see the beautiful Peonys in bloom. The Jasmine we worried about last year and moved to other side of garden has practically taken over the fence
Don't work too hard Daff,hope you have a break now and then :O)
The Dragon's visit sounds as if all went well BC,but then you are the hostess with the mostess! how's the patio and Clematis doing?
Glad your laptop was recovered Ann and you get your baby back soon :O)
I'm off out today for a walk,or should I say hobble lol
Have a smashing day ~~~~~~~ everybody enjoy the footie (or tennis) later
We chopped back the overhang from the tree in the neighbours at the end of the garden yesterday, didn't ask it was well over our side and shading our patio too much.
Today we have introduced sister to the joys of Dunhelm, she bought a kettle and a toaster and some bits, I bought a duvet cover, pillowcases, curtains and some bits, none of which we really needed, T bought himself an ironing board cover!
Better go and get some lunch now.
Afternoon all. Lovely hot summers day here and Mau...your clematis is just beginning to thrive and sprout! I sang a few songs to it and she put a spurt on! Dont know what colour yet but lots of buds:)) Hope your foot is improved...
I joined a Fat Club last week (my friend is treasurer so she twisted my arm!)..and I am so embarrassed am not sure I can show my face tonight. In the past week I have cooked three lunches for folks, eaten everything in sight, drunk loads of wine, shared a triple choccy trifle with pal, and many other assorted sins. On the other hand, maybe the lady who runs the club will look on me as a challenge! lol...
Hope you are all enjoying the day and that Daff has *glares....rested a little......
Morning everyone... totally refreshed this morning, thank you Mau, but taking it fairly easy, just to be on the safe side. It was just so brilliant to have so much energy, and I just felt I had to use it all up before it ran away, lol
I would like to see Stevie Wonder, too *sighs nostalgically*
BC, sounds like you had a lovely day with Hayley. It is wonderful to meet up with friends, isn't it?
*huge grin at Maz* I know what you mean, Hermie and Jethro were both in trying to make us get out of bed at silly o'clock this morning, chasing each other around the bedroom, little devils. How did the water fights go?
Mummo, bless... nice though it is most of the time when they are right there beside you, there are occasionally some disadvantages. Enjoy your scrambled egg .... we call it strangled egg in this family, going back 35 years to when son no1 was learning to talk, lol
Ann, hope you enjoy your lunch out today, and a parcel has arrived, you naughty girl, but thank you so much. I am dying to open it, but R has whipped it away from me, the meany.
When we were out yesterday... he took me into Cardiff... while I was in talking for Britain, he had a wander around and looked into the charity shop window (the Talkathon is held in the offices above the shop) and there was something I have been hankering after for years, one of those 50's concertina sewing baskets. My Nan had one, and when she died, my mum had it, but my younger siblings wrecked it. I have always said that I would love one... so R bought it for me. It is in immaculate condition, and hasn't been used very much, and just £8.00. I am just sooooo thrilled with it. I was going to use it for my craft stuff, but have decided to gather together all my sewing bits, and keep them in there, where they should be, and at the side of my sofa, where I sit, like in *olden days* lolol when I used to darn R's socks, turn his collars, sew on buttons and repair clothes instead of throwing out... not that I intend to do any of that. Just for the nostalgia effect.
Right then, off to find my sewing stuff ;¬))
Have a wonderful day, everyone
Love
Oh go on Daff, darn a few socks just for fun!!! How lovely that he was able to find one for you, bet he was like a dog with two tails.
And what a good job he is home this week so the parcel will be opened on the right day, had to send it early as I wasn't sure how long it would take. Took 3 days then. In case I forget tomorrow before I go have a really lovely birthday with Sian there as well.
