That sounds painful Daff, muscular or disc do you think. Hope it heals quickly anyway and he musn't go back too soon either, driving will be painful every time he uses the break/clutch.
Sounds like you have a good day ahed, yesterday was back to grey and cold again, today is still cloudy but warmer and brighter. Off out for a stroll in a minute. starting to think about coming home now, and, would you believe T is sitting beside me organising flights out for September!!!

Afternoon all from hot and sweaty steamy London! lol Had a very busy day and am wilting but have time to cast a good spell for Daff's lovely OH that he will be painfree soon...aw bless:))
I went to garden centre and bought a load of plants for the Dragon's balconies to cheer her up (she paid) but she is never satisfied...the colour was not quite right and they were not quite HUGE enough for her. pmsl...I told her that they grow...*rolls eyes. I could be doing nicer things with my time..tsk....
Have just watered my patio and there are two Oriental poppies just about to explode into bloom...have waited two years for this and I shall probably be away when it happens! lol
Am off to walk doggie who is panting just like me...lol...

Morning all.... well, he is a little better this morning, thank you... and he says *thank you* for your concern for him as well... bless him, he is now getting grumpy cos he can't go out to play, lol.... the Paramol/Ibuprufen mix helps keep the majority of the pain away... but he is as high as a kite on the Paramol, lol..... It is the sitting he finds the most painful. Anyway, he is staying at home today as well.... so I shall need to find him some stuff he can do to occupy him! I've dug out some books.... he can lie in bed and read for half an hour or so at a time... and he is ok watering the garden in little bursts, as it is standing up. He wasn't amused at my suggestion that he stand there with his arms stretched out and I could hang the bird feeders from them....... I thought it was hysterical, lolol ;¬))
BC, some folk are just never happy unless they have something to complain about!! Hopefully your spell will work soon.... he looked grey with pain at bedtime last night, but hopefully it will be a little easier today.
Maz, the birds now ignore the cats.... the blackbirds even had their young hopping around the garden a couple of days ago.... they are very funny..... and I use the hose to give them a shower, as well, which they loved!
Ann.... really? Has he actually booked? Was your day nicer (weatherwise) than you expected? It was baking here... but nicer today, warm, but breezy, and enough cloud cover to give a break from unremitting sunshine... it feels very pleasant out there. I have been out to take photos of the flowers that have blossomed... my lovely deep pink rose at the back is just blossoming... and S's rose has masses of buds just breaking into flower as well... that is a floribunda type, and it gets all brown and sulky if it gets wet, so it isn't really like her at all... I haven't really seen proper blooms on it... it has always been spoiled by raining at just the wrong time.
Oh well... must go and do a bit more weeding.... that is a never ending job, isn't it?
Have a wonderful day, everyone!
Love

Good morning, cloudy again so far, no Daff, we didn't lose the clouds all day yesterday, wasn't cold though. Yes the flights are booked, we knew we were coming out but were waiting until the c card closed off first.
Did R ought to see the dr about his back? it does sound painful. Hope he feels better soon. I thought you were going to suggest he stood as a scarecrow!!! Lol!!! sorry!

Hi Daff and All Oooh it's suddenly gone chilly here , rained overnight,but that was good for new plants etc.,but don't like the change in the weather at all :O(... OH is playing bowls and he was seriously thinking of wearing longjohns lol...the rink is on the seafront..
Think Wales has had sun today? Hope your OH gets fit again soon Daff,as a bad back is chronic!! I was off work, a few years ago, for 5 months horrible experience.Was told to lay down and rest a lot of the time,but now that advice is frowned on,keep moving is better ( easy to say I know) I found heat pads soothing.
Your OH is on the ball Ann booking another holiday already :O) great stuff :O)
Have your Oriental poppies exploded yet BC what colour will they be? I always think the petals resemble tissue paper,so delicate.
Off to make turkey recipe I saw today for my Lord... Sir Francis...no I won't lol he's just phoned to say he'll be another hour ( the Doctor he's playing against was late tut tut )...

Morning all.... Mummo, you will need to have a nice long chill when the flat is sorted, and do nothing but enjoy yourselves for a while. It is my lad who should compare backs, lol.... he fractured his spine a few years ago, plus massive internal injuries... ruptured spleen, bowel, diapragm, damaged pancreas, collapsed lung... he was really pooly, like Ed.
Mau we had sun most of yesterday, but it was also a bit breezy, so quite chilly in the shade..... I stayed inside most of the day, in fact, I got on with tagging and putting captions on my favourite photos, and also taking *snapshots* of all the video footage I have of the little beauties since Granny's first cuddles, lol.... over 4000 snapshots!! many are very blurred, but in between are some that have managed to just catch *a moment* and would have been missed otherwise, so I am thrilled to bits with them.
Ann it is looking sunny here too, patchy cloud but with a bit of a nip.. I am sat in the conservatory with a fleece and a pair of bedsocks on... I do have other clothes on, of course, lolol So when do you get back?
R has decided to go to work today. To say that I am fed up with him is an understatement... why can't they listen? He is only *ok* because he is taking lots of painkillers... and even that is so unlike him.... oh well, we'll see... he is popping into Kwik fit on his way, to get the tyre that started it all sorted... those chairs in their waiting room are so uncomfortable.... if they don't send him scurrying back home, then he must be ok....
Not sure how I want to spend my day... I have so many things to do, paperwork being a priority.... my Top Doctor Man has very kindly sent me a letter to explain AML, and how it affects bones and muscles etc... plus the longer term effects of the chemo... and that I am most definitely not yet well enough much of the time to begin looking for work just now. It is very strongly worded... he is my hero!! So I now have the stuff all ready for the tribunal... and I have the password to get a pensions forecast, as well....
Then there are the usual end of month figures.... and we still haven't heard from the taxman... so it is all go... not physical work, but I find stuff like that very *fuzzy head* tiring.
And if it is going to stay cool today, then I would like to finish re-arranging the conservatory.... didn't quite get it the way it needed to be, but it was too hot to finish it... and Littlie comes next week... she can't get to her craft area properly the way it is.....
Have a lovely day everyone
Love

Well we still have thick cloud and it rained overnight, so no sunbathing today. Quite chilly in comparison with how it was. We come home on Saturday (29th) Daff, have almost a week at home then go to Dorset on Friday 4th. Well all that depends on getting home OK, hoping BA strikes don't have a long term effect on Heathrow. We are flying on the inbetween strikes day!!! Right we'll walk down for coffee now and read the D Mail which is free to read at the restaurant. If nobody has got there first!!

*sigh. Do you realise that if you write areply and submit, then, when it has taken too long to download you click the back button, you will lose your reply? It didn't use to be like that, also when you click on a name to send a message and submitted it you used to be taken back to the place you clicked thename. Not any more. Well I don't think it is the vagaries of this laptop anyway. I have just lost a long post. Will just say that we go home on 29th Daff, have almost a week at home and then go to Dorset for a week where I don't think we have internet access. Going down for a coffee now and a read of the paper which is available free at the restaurant.

Ann, I think that must be exactly what I am doing when this blessed site munches all my words!! I hadn't realised that it was the site... just thought my fingers were being more clumsy than usual, lol and I was knocking some tab or accidently clicking on something...I thought it was odd that the back tab didn't work.... so I am very pleased it isn't me!! I know, I am a numpty.... but hey ho, somebody has to be ;¬))
Right... pension forecast done, and better than I anticipated... once I am 64, lolol Not full, though that will change once R retires. But better than I thought.
I have moved the stack of craft stuff which was in front of Littlie's craft area... and also the pile of old dvd's etc from windows xp days... I am told that they work with windows 7, so am loathe to chuck them, but I didn't really use them...... things like 5 zillion photos, and even more fonts... the latter just will not play nicely on my Vista... then I have scrabble.... it was a buy one get one free, and it has never been used.... oh, and the OU ones... and the ones from when I very first had Broadband..... you know the type. I was going to throw the lot....... but, well, you never know!! ;¬))
Anyway, S now has a clear pathway to her area.
And then there are the destruction manuals. *sighs* I really can't understand them when I do read them, unless they are in easy straight forward language and with nice big pictures demonstrating... that's why I like HP stuff......
Right, tea break over... off to sort out all the appeal stuff now... it has to be in by next week. See you all next tea break, lolol
Love

Yes but I wouldn't have minded except when it eventually picked up one it picked up all the others that had appeared to disappear into the ether. I am sure they have done some update or other that is affecting the way the boards respond.

wmsl @Ann!! That sounds like a good drink, lol.... and I am sure you are right about roadworks on GR!! Grrrrrrr.
Waves little Nottingham Lace Hankie (clean, used only once) at BC as she heads off to the Emerald Isle...... have a lovely time, BC, don't give us a thought, back here, missing you...... *sobs* see you in a week then xxxxx
~~~~~ to Ginnie
wmsl @ Gizmo... they have different sounds for everything don't they? Hermie has two distinct yowls..... one is *mummy I'm home* and the other is *feed me now* lolol.... Jethro is much more eloquent... he says Mrrrrrrrrrllllll for food, mrrrrowulll for *I love you and want to wrap myself around your neck.....mrrrrriiilk for milk, please and lots of it..... and then he has a million other little vocalisations that all mean something different, lol And if we aren't fast enough he has a little Yilp that means *It's payback time and I am off to find something norty to do* We hear a lot of that one, lolol
R came home early, still in agony, so isn't going anywhere today, again.... the ladies he works with have all told him off, lolol.....
I also had two very interesting contacts yesterday. One from Ancestry, one from Friends Reunited.
The one from Ancestry lives about 4 miles from me, and we share Caroline Matilda, a feisty Cornish (edit, I missed a gt out... she is my gt ) Gt Grandmother.... I am further on in my research, but she has photos of my gt grandfather and her gt grandmother together... I have lots of Caroline and Daniel alone and with their children, plus some of Daniel's mother and Caroline's father.... and there is one we believe to be Caroline's father's mother at a very old age.. so I am sharing that info, plus certs and photos of grave site etc...
The second, well, it was lovely, but disturbing as well... she is definitely who she says she is... she has sent me a photo, taken in the same batch as some that I have, of all us street urchins playing in our garden. She was quite a bit younger... her older brother was more my age, and he will remember me... I bit him when he wrestled me to the ground once... bit so hard I drew blood through his jumper and his anorak... norty!!
Anyway, she lived right opposite me as a child, she and her sister have both had Leukaemia. The girl next door but one had leukaemia, too, then there was myself, and my bro with his Hodgkins Lymphoma. A little way down, the road.. and around the corner, was a large family, like my own... one girl died of breast cancer very young, and two of her sisters have had it. As has my sister... and there have been lots of other cancers within that group of children, as we have grown up. She believes that there may be a couple more with blood cancers... she will ask her mum.
For such a rare disease (Leukaemia and blood cancers), that is a lot of children from one small area and generation, who have developed it.
Our house.... and all the others on our side of the road... were prefabs. The other side of the road were brick built, but they were there when ours were being built.
It has really made me wonder whether this is a coincidence or not. I am e-mailing my consultant with the information later... it will be added to my file, as has washing R's kit when he got back from the first gulf war (oil and smoke from the burning oil fields) my smoking and my lovely ornamental pylon... they all go into the cooking pot of research.
So I am about to find out, if I can, what the houses were built from etc... as that might have had an effect on us kids in those early days of them being there... the houses were fairly new then.
Busy busy busy!!!
Have a lovely day, everyone... I have my research head on, lol
Love
