Afternoon everyone... I am making a habit of this getting up late malarkey, lol... I went to bed quite late... got all absorbed on the boards... then did a couple of puzzles, and before I knew it... 1am went past, lol Got up about 10, sorted out dinner (sweet and sour and spicy sausage casserole, burbling happily in the slow cooker) so I wouldn't be feeling too guilty as I had a brainwave in the middle of the night, and it'll take me all day to practice...
I am waiting for extreme glitter to dry at the moment...... I have managed to get it everywhere... Jethro is my companion, and has had enough of playing... he is sleeping at the moment. Covered in glitter bits... as is my keyboard, lolol
I now need to find sheet music online for an old fashioned children's Christmas carol... I want to use it on this page I am doing. I have made a nice strong cuppa (no milk, lol) to distress and age a piece of cream paper to print sheet music off onto.... It'll take another week, I think!... I'll c & p this bit onto your craft thread, Ann.... this page is taking shape, but there is a lot of work needs to go into it! lol
The buzzard just flew overhead... by the time I got the camera, and got it ready, Mr B had flown over the treetops... I think I have a couple of shots, but they won't be very clear...... oh well, never mind.
Aw BC..... tears in my eyes just thinking of it!! My older boy went off without a backward glance... I have a photo of the back of him, all excited running through the alley to get the bus!! I sobbed my heart out cos he never looked back.
Son no 2 was a different story.... he screamed for Britain.... I used to sob daily leaving him there..... can't win, can we?
Ann, did you get any sleep last night, all those novels, plots and prose leaping around your mind?
~~~~~ to Maz... you back at school today, then?
Off to see if I can find some sheet music anywhere, lolol!!
Love
Daff, I saw that you were up late!!! I was in bed by 10.40, asleep by eleven and didn't wake up until 7 AM.. hadn't slept much the night before, thought I was coming down with something, felt very yuk all day yesterday although not stopping me eating and OK today, just a bit tired.
I have completed a page this morning for the scrap book so will just pop over and add it to the thread. Not written anything today yet.
aww BC I can picture the scene and I hope they both had a wonderful day at school,they are soo sweet.......*hands over tissues.......... I well remember my two on their first day at school. My daughter and another little girl joined hands,smiled at us 'sad' mothers, and walked through the gates without looking back lol.............my son on the other-hand was crying and clinging on his first day,never two alike is there?
Oh dear..... Maz, yet another day wasted..... it'll be half term before you know it at this rate!! I bet the dishwashing fairy hasn't visited in the night, either!
*blushes* it is soooooo true.... hubby still sees Lt Dishy, too, occasionally.... only he is not a Lt any more... he is LT Col Dishy, married to Mrs Absolutely Gorgeous... and with a couple of little children now, lol... he calls me Momma Taff, on account of me being older than him, and Welsh. Cheeky devil.
I have my shopping list in hand, and am off to hit Dunelm, Matalan, Wilko's, Range and Tesco... oh, and maybe Hobbycraft if they haven't got the red ribbon I want in Dunelm or Range.
Bets on whether I stick to my list? red velvet ribbon, photo paper, ink cartridges, fat balls, gold spray paint.. swirly embellishments...(or paper with swirls I can cut out and spray....) crackle paint, Two big multi photo frames and a couple of smaller ones Bulb for my craft light.... or maybe a new light. Small swivel chair that highers and lowers.
then boring stuff like food, lol
I like the new layout... have stuck most of it down, and now need the red ribbon and stuff to finish it off..... and realised I can still use the partially completed page that had the damaged photo..... improvisation is the key!!
See you all later
Love
Afternoon/evening all.... just back in... I haven't got everything, and managed just three shops... Range, Wilkinsons....... and Halfords... ok ok, I know Halfords wasn't on my list, but I remembered something son said would be useful in the car....... my mistake!! I spent a fortune in there
Right here is my original list
red velvet ribbon, (Nope, didn't find... but got some very nice blue and bluish green ones, I am sure I shall find a use for them)
photo paper, (nope... no matte, only gloss)
ink cartridges, (nope, didn't have my sort)
fat balls, ( YES!!!!!)
gold spray paint.. (No....... couldn't make my mind up)
swirly embellishments...(or paper with swirls I can cut out and spray....)..... NOPE.... but I did find lots of lovely nice, cheap, embellishments, brads, flowers, Alphabet, buttons, and glittery bits, and well, two carrier bags chokka block full... they were all on special offer in the Range)
crackle paint, NOPE
Two big multi photo frames and a couple of smaller ones..... SORT OF... bought three very big ones with those multi thingies to go into them, but didn't get any small ones
Bulb for my craft light.... or maybe a new light. No bulbs.... and I didn't like the choice of lamps
Small swivel chair that highers and lowers. they only had the broken one on display so I didn't buy!
Didn't buy boring old food... shall send son out to do that in a mo, lol.
Bought play doh, Disney sleeping beauty dress, new car seat (half price, and she is almost out of the old one) paint, colouring books, a couple of pop-up books, more single sheets in very very bright pink...transfers, and templates for swirls, little jewels(that's why I need the templates) and card stock... lots and lots of cardstock... I couldn't resist... loads and loads... well it was buy two get a third free.... and a torch.... and a thingy for the bathroom.... some more tupperware type boxes... they are brill for holding *stuff*. And then I ran out of steam and came home, lolol
So I think I have failed, lololol!!
Must go and find places to keep all this new stuff, lol
Love
Well didn't you have a good shop? I was trying to wrack the brains to think what Halfords had to offer but then I see, car seat. we never ever bought one of those, our littlies always brought their own Lol!!!!
Looks like she is going to have another good week. (hope she has not 'gone off' sticking!
It is soo difficult to buy swirls. I have ended up drawing my own and cutting out and it is very difficult, both the drawing (without a template0 and the cutting.
Half this stuff should be on the scrapbooking thread, you do realise that don't you?
Did Wilkinsons have any decent craft stuff? They used to then recently they have not had so much. I like their double sided tape (£1 for two little rolls) the rolls are small and easy to manipulate.
I have not started the minutes of the meeting this morning, which went on and on and I shall be glad to give up in August!!! But I have played on here and done a bit of adjustment to my writing, then I have just started another scrap page, this time my favourite subject, our littly, who apparently slipped over in the snow last week, bruised her pride and is now saying she hopes it doesn't snow any more!!!
Morning Maz and give Gizmo a hug from me for standing up to the big bully! lol
Colder today and rather grey sky emerging. I am up at this great hour because somebody is coming to check the heating system and somebody else to check the loo which I think has a leak somewhere. After that, the day is my own:-) There's a play called 'Greta Garbo comes to Donegal' which is at my local theatre, if it has a matinee I may go.
I envy you creative ladies, I cannot even sew a hem...tsk tsk....lol...
Have a happy day everyone.
Good morning, we have snow here, laying in the garden but not on the road. Looks like wet snow so hopefully wont last.
Well done Gizmo, give him a treat from me for standing up to bullies.
We are off to B&Q this morning (Oh wonderful, my favourite, even I struggle to find anything to buy for craft there). The plus is daughter has asked us to get some more of some tea towels she bought from home Sense. Now.... I can always find something in there!
