Morning Daff and All How's the painting coming along Daff?
Just read your thread Mummo and pleased for you that Eddie is making good progress at last.
BC hope you've both had a good night and things are getting easier for your little doggie X
Went with OH to the Victorian Christmas market yesterday it was lovely. Stall holders were dressed in period costume, even a Victorian policeman giving out glasses of old-fashoned ginger wine, which always reminds me of feeling quite grown up when I had my first lol There was a bandstand with carol singers, certainly gets everyone in the mood.I used to work in schools and one thing I do miss is hearing children singing at Christmas time,it still gives me goose bumps!
The old fashioned Punch & Judy was very popular with the youngsters,I couldn't take my eyes off some of them as they were loving it all.....the flea circus was also there, not seen one of those for years lol... We went home with lots of goodies.......also with a Bailey's fudge cake BC...I'll send you a slice ;O)
Hope everyone has a good day Mau XXX

Morning all...... we are just about to go out and finish off the last of the prezzie shopping... including our own big one for each other. I have done a pile of little bits on Amazon this morning... the little stocking filler stuff!!
Mau, we have done as much as we will do before Christmas, lol... everything needs another coat, but it looks ok, just don't go too close to it, lolol!!
Once we are back from shopping, we will be able to put all the books, cds and DVD's into the bookcases, and fill the cupboards and drawers with all the stuff that came out of them, lol.....but the room does look a lot brighter and bigger... R is now coming around to it, lol!! He likes dark wood, but in a dark room it is a bit overpowering!
BC I love slow roasted belly pork.... the dripping from it is scrummy with a hunk of bread, lol!! Sounds like you had a lovely evening with your boozin pal, lol We have nothing simmering in the pig bot (wmsl, I love it!!) as son is in charge of dinner today, lol.... there are lots of scrummy looking goodies in the fridge, looks like it is chicken parma ham and two blue cheeses (not so keen on the latter!!) in flaky pastry... and there are scallions, new potatoes, broccolli and cauliflower in the fridge...... so looks interesting!! Poor little doggie.... when I read up about her breed, I did wonder about the screaming, lolol...... sounds awesome!!
Maz, one of mine was born in a military hospital in Cyprus, the other in the UHWales. We just did that little spot in Germany/Holland for two tours, and then Celle in Northern Germany for one. I loved living in Germany. I loved the life, mostly, to be honest... there are things about it I still miss to this day.
Mummo, that is brilliant news re Eddie... you'll be fine with the brace, I promise... I used to have to help young adults into them, and it's a bit scary at first, but you soon get used to it... pass on our love when you visit him xxxx
Right, R is now ready to go... so see you all later, when I have emptied the bank account ;¬))
Love
Daff xxxxxx

I have had a brilliant day... got my main prezzie early, lol.... which means I'll have a few little things to open Christmas day as well, lol... I have a new camera, which I am extremely pleased with... I have the battery on charge, and it only took an hour to open the little disk thingie, those plastic containers are a nightmare to open, aren't they?.... Loads of stuff for our littlies, and we also got our son's prezzie... which he has been given early, too, otherwise he'd have been hogging my pc, lol His old one (7 years old) has just given up the ghost finally... it has had a few new bits and bobs added to it, but it died totally the other day..... so we have replaced it for him. He is singing away quietly to himself, lol.... and also making our dinner..... looks good!
I shall be practicing all day tomorrow.... well, as well as putting up the tree.
I am off to play, lolol
Love
Daff xxxxx

Hi, Maz, Daff and all..you all sound as though you are well advanced in the Christmas shopping, I have managed to get some of my cards up, will try and get the rest up later, doesnt take long to get the tree done, its only a small one, I miss haveing a big one, but we dont have any littles so usually put the things we have bought over the years from places we have visited ...Germany...Austria..Italy... they all do wonderful christmas statues and novelties,so the memories we have looking at them are great....
B.C. hope your little doggie is getting better, and if you get chance have a look at your mail.....
Daff we have buds on the Magnolia, but what sort of feed do I give it? I have seen Miracle grow but it doesnt mention Magnolias.... also its always much colder here than were you are, so should I be trying to cover it....have a look at your mail too....You have a great camera now, Daff so I can look forward to some more photos, can I?
well at last we have the kitchen finished, bedroom sorted, bathroom sorted, me nearly sorted... lol....more smiles than tears now....
waves to everyone else ~~~~~~~~~~~
love Jean xx

Morning all.... am now engulfed by Christmas decs, lol.... about to decorate the tree, but need to pick which tree, first, lol... we bought a new one last year, as we would have needed to sterilize the old one... the new one is just as tall, but more slender.... maybe I will find room for both? *looks hopefully around room!"
Jean, the feed you'll need is one for azalea, rhododendrons etc.... I usually get the granules and chuck a handful on now... they are busy setting their buds, so will love you for a feed, and with the granules, they take just what they need. Oh, and you'll only need to cover them if they get the early morning sun... the sun burning off any frost will damage the new buds.
It took me 3 days to dress the tree last year... I had no energy and didn't want help, lolol!! Different this year, though, lol.... Yeh!!
~~~~~ to Maz enjoy college *shudders at the mention of maths* lolol
BC... how's your little dog? It sounds like this might be a bit of a long haul for her, bless her.... and you, of course.
~~~~~ to Mummo...... hope Eddie continues to improve.... he has really done magnificently, hasn't he? Love to you both xxxx
Havoc, your tree sounds lovely... I can't remember whether I bought a star last year.... I have had an angel, but have fancied a star for a couple of years... not sure if R went and got me one, lol
Ann.... I am sooooo excited about it... really looking forward to playing with it... I shall practice on the tree, once it is up...... I want to know what I am doing ready for Christmas day!!
Right.... brekkie over, R has gone to work, cats have been fed...... just need to decide which tree.... decisions decisions, lolol!!
Love

Good afternoon all, what a horrible day it is out there. Himself has taken MY car to golf and I am sooo Not walking round to the shops in this drizzly rain. I have a letter to post and papers to get and prescription to drop in so will wait until the chauffeur returns.
Had to make an appointment with the dentist on Monday to check out this tooth which keeps bleeding. Well not sure which one it is - one of four- but there could be an infection and better get it checked now than Christmas! So Wednesday at 12.10. I think we have decided not to go to the golf club carols this evening but we do have the dinner on Wednesday so hope my bleeding tooth (excuse the expression) behaves itself!
Daff, have you finished the decorations yet? How many trees are up? Have you used your camera? You said your first SLR, do you mean SLR digital or first altogether? I have lost count of how many SLR film cameras there are in the cupboard but I am on my second digital SLR, the first was just too heavy on batteries and it took 4 AA rechargeables. gave the camera to eldest Grandson on his 18th, he still uses it.

Hello to all, Gosh it's cold and damp here today don't think I will be going out today. I've been good today and tidied my craft room and put away all the christmas bits and pieces as I am not making anymore cards now.I will start again with the birthdays in Jan. OH says it keeps me out of mischief, cheeky wotsit he is.
Daff how many trees have you put up? we have the main one in the sitting room and a small fibre optic one in the hall, (very small tree in a very small hall) The grandchildren will be here next week everyday as parents are working so will be lively here.
BC I hope your doggy is feeling better.
Mummo glad to read that Eddie is improving day by day now.
Ann I hope you get your tooth sorted without any problems.
I am going to make myself a cuppa now. Bye for now.

Afternoon all and my doggie thanks you for your good wishes. As for me, I want to slap her! lol was only joking in case someone wants to phone the wotsit line.. She is not in any pain now and the good news is the kennels will take her after all, and keep her confined (like I have) and will give her a loo walk only. That's a relief so I can go to Ireland after all as she is in no danger. :-)) She has stopped her screaming and is only whingeing because I wont take her walkies!
It has gone jolly cold here and the clouds look like it might snow!! Surely not! My old lady is going strong, I have done all her Christmas cards and written her cheques so she is happy, she likes to be orderly. We were planing her funeral this morning....
I hope you have gone over the top with your decorations Daffy and Ann your home sounds lovely, was reading about all the lights you have! I have a miserly row of lights draped round my urn but they are there all the year round. I am usually away for Christtmas anyway.
Big huggles for everyone:-))

Lol Ann.... I shall bring my camera, and we can play with it!! It is my first ever... R has a couple of film ones, one of which was his dad's, but I have never had one... I am *snap happy* and have always been the one taking snaps of the boys etc... R takes forever to set up a photo, but I think it loses the moment, then..... he rarely uses the cameras, anyway, but mine is always out... I used to have an Olympus something or other... quite revolutionary at the time... but it was damaged (deliberately) by an ex of one of the boys, lol I still have it, though! Do you think I should get another battery, just in case? It uses an oblong one... without looking, I haven't a clue what type, lolol....... I am really looking forward to Friday..... I do hope your tooth is ok... does it hurt, or does it just bleed?
I have put up just one of the trees... there are only 6 sets of lights on it... but it looks very pretty. I haven't used all the baubles, either... I do tend to be an *over the top* type of girl, lolol... The rest of the decs are there... and son and I have worked out how we can move the conservatory around, and still get 8 at the table, plus another tree, lol... he is off to get me a couple of thingies of lights and a couple of stars. I'll do that tomorrow.... I am shattered now, and will probably have an early night.... I was helped by two of the cats...... they were soooooo funny!! But it did take longer because of them, lolol!
Wmsl BC.... I know what you mean, lol... my GSD was such a wuzz, lol... I used to have to put drops in her ears regularly... she hated if I did it unexpectedly, and was easier to manage if I *told* her what I was going to do... so I would shake my hand as though I was shaking medicine, lol.... she would then go into her bed, and whine and howl like a banshee until I had done it.... and that was before I touched her, lolol I used to threaten to slap her and give her something to cry for, lol.... I was only joking (she was deaf, anyway, so wouldn't have heard me, lol) but it was funny most of the time, exasperating at others... anyone listening to her would have thought I was murdering her!
I have my funeral all planned as well, BC... I did it about 3 years ago, but updated it earlier this year... always good to think ahead, lol....
Havoc, we have quite a large conservatory, so the second tree will look good in here... I do have rather a lot of stuff in here though.... including my pc, and the dining room furniture. I virtually live in here though... so it will be nice to have *my own* tree, lolol I shall finish it all tomorrow.... and then chill out and enjoy it all on Wednesday!
Mummo, if you pop in, hope Eddie has improved today..... ((((hugs)))))
Love

I wouldn't think you would need another battery, after the first charge they charge up quite quickly and should last for quite a few photos. My first SLR was one of the first they did digital (Minolta), a super camera except for the batteries. The one I have now a Minolta/Konika is very good with the battery, an oblong one as you put it!! Yes, do bring it I would like to have a look at it. I am a bit lazy with my SLR as my Panasonic Lumix does produce excellent photos and has a good zoom, because it is lighter than the SLR I tend to use it the most. My SLR has to be used through the view finder which I used to prefer, however I have now got used to using the screen and miss it on the SLR (well it does have a screen but only for viewing photos.
Tree sounds nice, I have tried to stick to just red, gold, silver and green and glass this year instead of throwing all the colours at it, still not minimilistic though.
The tooth doesn't hurt, feels 'tight' sometimes but just bleeds, like a nosebleed from a tooth, luckily each time (3) I have been indoors, although the worst time was waking up with it at night. Of course since I phoned the dentist it has been OK but I still want her to look at it. It did happen twice about 11 months ago, then I had them cleaned and I thought that was the answer, who knows? I don't I have weird teeth!
Yes, I am looking forward to Friday as well.

Just looked at your camera on line Daff, looks good, nice and compact, I like the thought of the self cleaner, and of the several AF points.
Well that is New year sorted. Daughter was saying at the weekend they had to stay home (they always used to come to us for new year all the family until the boys got old enough to want to see their various girlfriends.) because they couldn't leave the boys on NY eve. She has just e mailed me to ask if it is OK for the 2 of them to come to us as Boys one and three will be out and boy two will be back in Plymouth.Lol!!!
