Morning all before I rush off for the Underground which, I might add, is quite a peaceful experience at this time of day. I even have time to read some of the newspaper.

Just back from the park and it is a stunning, sunny day. Tra la la...lol....

Have a good one everyone.

*averts eyes and blushes* Oh Mau..... you are naked!! That is you, Ann and BC running around naked on this thread.... we'll be getting a name, you know!!

I had trouble with bits of mine... I have a feeling I may not be able to get my Daff back when Christmas is over, as well, :¬((

If you are having problems, try putting it into your first name rather than your community name.....

Mau,
go into communities and trawl down to the bottom of the page, there is a space there for a community name.

MrDaff Report 1 Dec 2009 18:01

Evening all.... well, the day has been gorgeous.... I popped out, but not for long... Tescos was heaving and Hobbycraft was expensive.... came back and did a boozy online order..... booze and pickles, no Christmas should be without them!!

Dinner is on.... sausage casserole, and I shall do creamy potato, swede and parsnip mash with it... scrummy!!

I have lots of quite hurty bits today... the normal painkillers aren't touching it, so I think I might have to go back onto the cortisone again..... At least that will mean I will be fizzing coming up to Christmas, lol........ I need to move mountains to get this place ready for Christmas, lolol

Apart from that, I have spoken to half my family on the phone...... don't hear from them for ages... I phoned two, and the rest then phoned me... like flaming tom toms, honestly!

Mau, thank goodness you are now properly dressed... some of your bits were going very blue, I feared frostbite, I really did, lololol ;¬))

BC..... are you back safe and sound? I worry about you in London you know...... such a big place.... and I hate the tube *frets*

Ann, I never really fancied Les Mis.... I do love the theatre, but R doesn't, much. He did take me to see Cats, though, and was very impressed, so maybe I should nudge him along a bit, lol.... I'd love to go to the Ice thingy in Cardiff in February... must look at prices, that would be something to look forward to, and I know he loves ice-dance.

Think I'll go and google it now... by the way, are you feeling better today??

Love

AnninGlos Report 1 Dec 2009 20:57

Hi Daff yes I am fine, much better now the scaffolding has gone and the house is much lighter. Got the Christmas decs down from the roof to sort through, the plan being to put them up when we come back from Torquay. However, I have put a few things around, the crib - that daughter made in about 1974 out of an old cardboard box covered in straws (drinking straws). getting a bit worse for wear now but has a lot of sentimental value, some candles, the dining room table centre piece etc. Probably will leave just the tree to do next week and the lights.

Both T and I love Les Mis and also have the video and CD from when it was done with the all time best cast at the Albert Hall. It is one of those shows that to me improves each time we see it. We love seeing these shows at the theatre, used to go more when we were in reach of London but have seen quite a few in Bristol. Cats was my least favourite, wasn't that keen on Phantom, love Joseph, Me and My Girl, 42nd Street, and all the popular ones.

With going to sons for Christmas we don't have a lot of food shopping to do although we will buy some things for when we come back. Mince pies etc. Booze is not just for Christmas in this house. Son doesn't drink a lot but he does have several bottles of champagne which I am sure he will open.

Better get back to the pantomime, that lot are a laugh a minute and sometimes a bit naughty!!

Hi Mamidau, glad you are OK and the job is going well, we have missed you on here.

Les Mis has some wonderfully rousing music in it. We found the first time we saw it it was a bit hard to understand but they do print a synopsis in the programme, each time though you see a bit more and understand a bit more.

Hello to everyone,
Just been reading a few threads before I go to bed.
I hope you all have had a good day.

Daff I trust your achey bits are less hurty now and you have had a good nights sleep.

Oh Ann I envy you going to see Les Mis. Daughter and I tried to get seats for when it is on in our town but apart from an odd seat here and there it was sold out. I have seen it twice and my D 4 times now, I would also like to see Phantom but haven't yet got round to it.I have seen the others mentioned as well, not Cats though it didn't appeal to me.

Mummo pleased to read on your thread that your OH has been a little better today, thoughts and prayers to you all that each day is better for you

Must go now I am up late tonight , see you all sometime tomorrow evening I hope.
Byeeee ~~~~~~~~~~~~~.

AnninGlos Report 2 Dec 2009 08:44

Havoc sometimes being hard of hearing does have advantages. Because I need to sit in seats with the loop available we contact the theatre on the first day it opens for bookings (which is group bookings day, there is a lady in group bookings who deals with 'disabled' people and we were able to book before most of the seats went on sale.

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 2 Dec 2009 08:56

Morning Daff and all and here's hoping your hurty bits are not hurting this morning, Daff. How lovely to see Mamiddau popping in and also Havoc. As for Mummo, she and her Oh are always on my mind and I hope today brings even more improvement.

When does our Gizmo get his snip, Maz? We will be rooting for him ..he will probably be a reformed character afterwards! Ann's windows are sparkling to match her new teeth and Mau has covered herself in tinsel...bless:-)

On our rainy walk last night, we came upon Jonathan Ross turning on some Christmas lights (a very pathetic effort imo) from the top of a Tour Bus. I never know what I will happen on when I walk out the door. And no need to fret about me, Daff, I love London and the Underground doesn't bother me having been at Edgware Road Station the morning of the bombings.

So..*peeps out window...yes more rain, think I had better do my walk and get it over with! Then have to find a Pandora charm for my niece, and she is very specific in the one she wants...*groans....

Hope your days go well:-)

MrDaff Report 2 Dec 2009 13:29

Afternoon all... well, what a morning!!

R went to start the car... and this warning light thingy came on.... garage can't sort it til next week, plus his one headlight didn't want to shine, lol.... so he was going to use my little Suzee... cept... I had a GP's appointment at 10.40, and knew I wouldn't be able to walk it... so he ended up staying at home to take me... which was a good thing cos I wouldn't have been able to do all the fancy footworking thing as my left foot was on strike......

GP has changed my Blood Pressure tablets.... and changed my painkillers, as the Tramadol didn't do a thing for the pain.... but made me high as a kite, so didn't sleep much all night, lol

I am now pleasantly fuzzy, and virtually painfree..... bliss... have to take 1 or 2, 4 times a day for the next week, and then reduce the dose over the next week or two, so that it is only as required... it is definitely a flare up, and the first time he has seen it... normally it is all done and dusted by the time I get to see him. The tablet is called oxycodone... I am afraid my brain heard it as Oxymoron, so that is how it will always be named, for me!!

Mamiddau, it is so lovely to see you.... and pleased to hear your job is going so well, to.... how has O taken you not being around as much? He sounds a little sweetie, as does H..... hopefully see you soon mwah!

BC, it's strange, isn't it, how we look at places, names etc with eyes coloured by our own experiences.... I hated London... we went a few times as kids... dad used to dump mum and us off in the middle of nowhere...... 8 young kids in a strange, big city, without even enough money, usually, to go and spend a penny each..... because he had *things to do*. All I remember is anxiety... R and I went there for our honeymoon, and I hated it... we stayed at the Grosvenor Hotel, which was very impressive, but overpowering..... I also had to go through on the tube, alone, tired and with two tired (but well behaved thank goodness) babies... there is only a 17month gap between my two........ so it doesn't have particularly good memories for me. I used to go to Mill Hill a lot... 2 of my Godchildren lived there, and liked it there.

When R went to Buck House, we spent the night at Wellington Barracks, as guests of the Grenadier Guards...... now that was lovely, and I thoroughly enjoyed that experience!! Mind you, there was a party and lots of bonhomie going on, lolol ;¬))))

Ann, you'll never guess what I have gone and done..... go on, guess...... oh all right, I'll tell you.... I have booked and paid for seats for Holiday on Ice in February... opening night at Cardiff Indoor Arena, good seats with a full view of the rink (so the nice young lady told me) and I am sooooooooo excited I could burst!!! WoooooooWoooooooo!!!

~~~~~ to Maz..... I always leave a bowl of dried food down overnight....if it isn't there, they will all come up and tell me off, lol.... but his hormones will definitely be raging as well.... funnily enough, all of mine were ravenous for a couple of days... but it started to slow down yesterday, and they have eaten very little today.... so maybe the bad weather played a part in it, too.
Oh, BC.... just a quick question.... was Jonathon Ross the *very pathetic effort*? Wmsl... I sooooo do not like that man, I find him a bit sleazy, to be honest. But I do love Christmas lights ;¬))
Havoc, it's strange, really re Cats... lots of people I have spoken to don't fancy it, and to be honest, nor did I... but it was on in Nottingham (we lived 10 miles from there in those days), near my birthday, and R booked the seats as a surprise.... and I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed it!! I was the same with the musical, Buddy.... I only went to keep a friend company, as she is a huge Buddy Holly fan... she is 12 years younger than I am too, and Buddy Holly was already dead by the time I was taking an interest in music, leave alone her!! But it was amazing, and I absolutely loved id it... I was up jigging in the aisles, lol.... some of the audience were jiving, and that looked fantastic... jive was soooooo out when I was disco-ing it, lolol
So maybe I will make an effort and go to Les Mis.... I would love to see Joseph most of all, though.
Mummo, ((((((((((hugs))))))))))) for you..... and I have left some more over on your support thread.... a girl can never have too many ((((((((((hugs))))))))) you know.... and like I tell others, if you don't need them just now, tuck them in your knicker drawer for later on ;¬)) I am really pleased that Eddie had improved a bit yesterday, and was a bit more *compos mentis* so to speak..... tell him that there are loads of us sending hugs and positive thoughts and stuff to him xxxxxx
Right.... off to hav a little wander around the boards and see what has been happening.... have a lovely *rest of the day* everyone.
Oh, and I'll save the saga of my mum and her knicker drawer for another time, lolol ;¬))
Love and (((((((( hugs ))))))))
