ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 19 Nov 2009 16:12

I just went and changed my community name and put a * in between

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 19 Nov 2009 16:13

See if that worked then

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 19 Nov 2009 16:14

Sorted. Dentist was fine she had another go at tightening the denture and filing a bit off because the bite was wrong and so far it is OK. The test comes when I remove them and put them back, there appears to be a knack.

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 19 Nov 2009 16:14

put something in between, Ann like a * or an x

It won't let me put a * as it says I can only put letters or numbers. I will leave it as it is, it's OK.

perfect description if you Ann....lol....

Huia Report 19 Nov 2009 19:00

I have changed my name too. It wouldnt let me put spaces, as Ann says, it will only allow letters and numbers.

FYI, the Pohutukawa tree is our native Christmas tree, as it flowers at this time of year. The beaches are lined with them, all covered in red blossoms. A wonderful sight.

Huia.

Nite Daff, I am Orff too now.
We have scaffolding going up tomorrow for next week when we are having replacement windows on the rear of the house plus new barge boards and some re-pointing I don't look forward to it, don't like upheaval.

Morning Daff and all:-) You have cooked enough (sounds mouthwatering!) food to feed an army! I so wish I lived near you
so I could knock on your door with a bowl and a sad face...lol...

It is a grey and rainy day here, am delaying dressing before I take the dog out.
But! It's Friday, my favourite day of the week

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning. Scaffolders were here at 0845, before we were up!!!! We now look like Fort knox at the rear of the house. And we are puzzled as to how the window man will manage with the downstairs window when it has scaffolding across it. Presumably they will have to remove the scaffolding before he does that one!!! He is not coming anyway until next Wednesday so we have to live with it until then.

Jac Report 20 Nov 2009 08:50

Morning all!

Well Ann - did you miss the builders bums then? lol Hope the work goes smoothly - wouldnt fancy being up a scaffold this weather personally though!

Hope you have a smashing week next week Daff, with Littlie - I bet she's really excited (even more than you) at the prospect of another week with Gran and Grandad (and Dad of course).

Saw some super little sweatshirts yesterday with various slogans on the front - my particular favourite was a bright red one (to fit a 2 year old) with the words "Small BUT Dangerous" written in white. I thought how apt for a 2 year old - pmsl

I too am thinking of those poor souls who are flooded out - why does it always seem to happen at this particular time of year - it must be heartbreaking for them.

I had a couple of flu jabs this week too Daff (Flu and Swine Flu) and everyone I've spoken to who has had the Swine Flu one in particular has a sore arm! Mine still feels tender, and I was jabbed on Tuesday.

Anyway folks, must be off - things to do and places to go etc. Take care all, and wrap up well cos it's getting colder by the day.

Bi for now

Scaffolders are still here. They are both at least in their 60s and not a b*m in sight, all enclosed in jeans and wellie boot and coats!!! Weather a bit breezy here but dry so not too bad for them.

I too saw a T shirt which was very apt on the little one it was on, he was a little auburn haired lad about 16 months. The T shirt said "attention seeker" He was in a high chair at the next table to us in Wetherspoons and boy did he like his food. Rather large Mum and Gran and little brother about 4, every time he saw food coming to the table he pointed and opened his mouth. He had baby food, chips, mouthfulls of chocolate brownie and ice cream. Another chubby child in the making I fear.

Maz, I would love to live near you and help with all those nativities, how lovely.

*yawns and stretches* That was SUCH a good sleep... woke up just once for a pit stop and oilchange... straight back out like a light until R came back in to say he was going now (he always gives me a kiss before he goes, bless him, lol)... and then I went back to sleep again, lol... R even resurrected an old petname for me... he used to say I cwtched up like a kitten... so called me Kitten or Lovely for years... he only uses my proper name in an emergency, lol In fact... he rarely uses any of my names, lol... he just patiently waits until he has my attention!

I gather there has been dreadful weather around the country.... I'll go and have a look... I just heard that a policeman has died when a bridge was swept away.... didn't catch where it was. I do hope there are no other deaths.

I'm so pleased they weren't showing their bots, Ann, lol... Littlie often has a builder's bum, these days, now she is out of nappies..... she spoke to me last night.... her words were *mah BUM, Buddy, iss mah BUM* her nursery teachers say that when ever Granny is mentioned she hoicks her trousers up, and says that, lol..... I am for ever re-adjusting so she isn't baring all to the world, lolol Yep, she is small, but dangerous!! *beams proudly*

Jac... I am a little sore and achey all over, to be honest.... but that could be because I slept so soundly and didn't toss and turn........ I have a memory foam mattress and pillow... I didn't think I would get on with the pillow, but it is wonderful.... I would have been woken up much earlier with achey bits before I had them... they have been wonderful! I used to get tingling and pins and needles in my fingers, as well, as I sleep with a hand clutching the corner of the pillow, so there is weight on the hand..... but that has totally disappeared since I had the pillow.

Ann....... next Wednesday isn't tooooooo bad..... the house across the way from us had scaffolding up for about three weeks... the actual work took a day and a half, lol

BC... and everyone else... you'll always be welcome... no begging bowls needed lol Actually, I find cooking large amounts like that very therapeutic... I love to see the freezer nicely stocked with homecooked stuff.... I had let it all go by the board a bit last year, as I just couldn't be bothered... the standing sorting the veg out is very hard on my back and hips..... and my hands ache holding the knife.... but of course, that is nowhere near as bad, now..... well, most of the time it isn't. So I get in there when I feel ok.... some days that is all I can manage, but at least we won't starve ;¬))

Maz, I used to love the Nativity plays when I worked at the school... although my first was a bit of a culture shock... Joseph had fallen out with the three wise men... the donkey and the ass were at each others throats..... and Mary had fallen out big time with the Archangel Gabriel... the dress rehearsal was a nightmare...... dawned the big day, some parents were arriving, plus local bigwigs, and some of the specialists who worked with the pupils... and in the staffroom, where all the actors were gathering, there was world war three going on... blood was drawn by Mary first... she punched Gabriel in the face...... his lovely white costume, lovingly stitched by moi, was ruined, and a sheet had to be found.... the language was somewhat less than Celestial, and not an ounce of Peace and Goodwill was being shown by one of them... culminated in Gabriel being beaten up with the baby Jesus... then Baby Jesus' head being ripped off and thrown at Mary..... *sigh* It was Anarchy!!

Then..... Mrs. H rang a little bell.... it had appeared out of nowhere, and she reckoned it just arrived on her desk, lol like... magic... and all of a sudden.... the whole motley cast became angelic and wonderful.... trooped into the hall all quiet and serene, beaming smiles and emanating love and peace, lolol.... performed without a hitch... well, just one, when the innkeeper told Joseph and Mary to p*** off...... and they were WONDERFUL.... I cried my eyes out... relief, I think!

Last I saw of Gabriel and Mary... they were going home in different taxis... hostilities had resumed, and they were hurling abuse at each other through the window of their taxi, lol......... All was forgotten by the time they got back in January... and they were in love again. They were 10, lolol!! Bless them!

Jean, I am going to have a brilliant weekend, lolol ;¬)))

Right.... must go and find out what is happening in the world.

Love

Daff xxxxxxx
