Morning all.... well, I went to bed clutching my trusty Benylin and paracetamol... there were fireworks going on until just after midnight, so I was a bit restless until then, but still dozed in between parties... took some again at just after 5am... and here I am feeling bright and breezy at 09:45, having just got up and having my first cuppa of the day.....
~~~~~~~ to Maz
It is beautiful here.... the sun is shining, and there is just enough of a nip in the air to let you know that winter is just around the corner waiting to pounce. I am not sure whether to wrap up warmly and go and play in the garden, or to switch the tv on and indulge in Sunday morning TV.... there has to be something on, I imagine.
BC, I have to say, my soups are usually very very good...... even if that sounds as though it is bragging lolol..... I make a huge pot, and then freeze half of it in *one portion* sized containers... It is so easy for R's lunches then... heat one up in the morning, into the flask, couple of rounds of bread or a couple of rolls, his sandwich, plus his yoghurt, chocolate and fruit drink, and away we go.... he should be about 20 stone, really!
B keeps some very odd hours... and he will often heat up a bowl as well, just before he goes to bed, about 4am... so very useful to have in stock.
I think we now have a neighbour's cat permanently moved in with us... and I am not sure what to do about it......
Her real name is Jessie... we call her Peggy, as she only has three legs. She is well loved, I think, and has a lovely nature, particularly with children... there are two cats in her household, but the other cat (Henry) doesn't come into the house at all, and is of a nervous disposition. He does spend most of his time in our garden.
Their owners have a young family, plus a lovely medium sized young dog.
They have no catflap... and I know that there is always fresh food and fresh water available to them on the front path. They are allowed into the house... but if they don't come in for the night when called, then they have to stay out... the same if the family are off out for the day, which is fair enough, as folk can't be doing with getting up and down a dozen times at night to let the cats in and out!
Now, Peggy has been dining at our table for a long time... we have our cat flap open all hours, lol..... but this last week, when the food sachets are rattled, she appears out of nowhere... yesterday, I found where her *spot* is... tucked away in the kitchen, where we store all the paper and envelopes ready to be re-cycled... and then another upstairs in one of the wardrobes!!
She is curled up now, fast asleep, at my feet, virtually.... and I have chased her out, gently, three times already... she just comes straight back in!
I am not sure whether I should do anything about it... we actually have no objection to her being here, but I am sure that her owners would be upset at how much time she is here... nearly all day yesterday, and as she was here first thing this morning, I imagine all last night, too.
My theory is that with all the fireworks going on here... she has only been able to get into my house, and is now beginning to see it as a *safe place*
She hasn't moved in properly.... she hasn't done the weaving and marking thing yet... but she has just popped out into the kitchen... dishes are empty... so she has yowled at me to fill 'em up!! lol
Should I just leave things as they stand, do you reckon?
See you all later.
Love
Daff xxxx
Morning all.
Well Daff - what are you like eh? you need a big big bowl of that broth of yours, a hot water bottle and a snuggle down for the day.
I blinking hate having a cold - misery misery misery (that's me).
You have my sympathy love, and I hope that by tomorrow you will be feeling 100% better.
Love to all
Bi for now.
It's the first time in 9 years I can recall it raining on the little mites on Remembrance Sunday - such a shame, as the sun is now shining brightly). xxxxx
Hello Ann, did you have a wonderful time?
Yep... he feels guilty.... but he still feels (and looks) worse than I do.... so I have forgiven him, lol I am hoping he stays home tomorrow, to give himself an extra day or so to properly get over it... watch this space!
Jac... I have taken it fairly easy all day... and feel so much better than I could possibly have expected... so fingers crossed... my chest is tickling just a bit, but normally by now I am into full blown hacking cough! So I am doing well now... how is your friend, by the way?
I have to say... it is one way of welcoming the return of the prodigal immune system, isn't it? lolol Let the little bugs loose for a party, and see if those immune system bouncers keep them in check, lolol ;¬))
Morning Maz and Daff when she emerges from her comfy duvet! And welcome back Ann, hope your teeth are settling in:-)
Lovely morning here, a bit nippy so it's time to take my lacy thermals out, the opaques have already had an airing. I love this part of getting ready for winter. Loads of layers and scarfs.
An old friend turned up on my doorstop yesterday, it was so good to see him as last time I saw him he was very ill and out of contact.. Normally I like a phone call first but this time I didn't mind,:-)
Hope you and Mr Daff feel lots better today. Sit on him if he wants to go back to work. lol...
Happy Monday! BCXX
Good morning all. OH has decided to go to golf so I have the morning for me. Well... sort of, the washing is already in, that wont chuck itself in the machine will it?
BC, no teeth are still loose. Didn't wear them most of the weekend as it would be sooo embarrassing to lose them during a meal!!!!! Have to go and see the dentist Wednesday so until then I have decided to stop stressing about them (it was really getting to me), the ones I have already have nothing wrong with them so will be worn in company and while eating. I will then get something sorted (or not) on Wednesday. After wearing a set for nearly 50 years I guess I know what it right and what is not and while I am happy to adjust to new frame work I do think the clip should be more stable.
Daff, remembered where it is yet?
Morning all!
First all-over frost here when I awoke this morning. Gawd I hate the cold! long johns at the ready and I wont take 'em off until May 1st!
Hope you are feeling much better today Daff and that the dreaded lurgy cold has been kicked into touch! Also Mr Daff - it aint pleasant when blokes feel ill - can really stretch your patience.
Little Peggy sounds a lovely little puss - if she lived nearer to me I'd "take her off your hands" - lol I now have four cats who regularly visit the garden since poor old Jackson aint around anymore - the twins from next door, Tigger the tiger from next but one, and his little friend Sparkle who is adorable and so inquisitive that it will be her downfall I suspect. I love them all really and their presence is almost worth the daily funerals!!!!
Take care everyone, wrap up well cos it's the start of the Winter.
Bi for now
Morning all.... a bit overcast this morning, but warm in this house, anyway... son was on the phone reading a story to littlie when dinner was served.. I popped his into the oven to keep hot for 10 minutes... he has eaten it, but didn't turn the oven off!! Doh.
R has gone to work...... and I refused to get up and sort his packed lunch out cos I was sooooo mad with him... so he isn't even going to have his flask of soup. He was whingeing all day yesterday, sniffing and snuffling, coughing for Britain... but today he is all ready to take on the world.... why don't they listen to us? They should know by now that we are always right!
Ann, I haven't found it, but am not too worried now.... R remembered this morning that the forms can be downloaded... it was what B did when he needed to get his sorted out when he moved here..... all that fretting for nothing, ay?
I know how you feel with your bridge, though.... I am the same with these glasses... I can definitely see all distances better, so from that perspective they are good.... but I do have to hold my head at a slightly odd angle to watch tv or do certain things, and I think that is what is beginning to make my neck hurt a bit.... once the muscles there have got used to the movements, then I shall be fine....
Jac... Peggy was here all last night.... I heard her coming up the stairs, and went and ushered her back down, and out through the catflap... she didn't even wait for my footsteps to fade away before she was back in... she has a collar with a little bell on it, so we know it is her... It was so cold last night that I didn't have the heart to chuck her out again. She stayed in the kitchen, in her *den* lol No prezzies from mine today..... they tried to bring me in live ones yesterday, and I was cross with them, lol....
Oooooooooh...... there's a little wren on my rose bush... how sweet!! Gone back into the tangle of Montanna now, but I am so pleased to have seen it!
BC, it is lovely to see old friends, isn't it? I met up with Gwyn in Kent last year, after 34 years!! It was brilliant catching up.
Dunno about the lacy thermals... I'm ready for the full on fleecy ones, lol....
~~~~~to Maz~~~~~
Have a lovely day everyone... I have loads to do, but it all involves sitting down, so I shall be resting while I am doing it... found two thick files of old paperwork.... for 1995 to 1999!!! So I am going to shred them all... they were to do with the mortgage we had at the time.... and my Uni paperwork, lol Might find some interesting stuff in there, mightn't I?
See you all later
Love

Hi Daff, just taken myself for a walk out round the village, longer than usual for lately but not the very long walk I was doing. I need my chiropodist to sort out a corn for me!!!! Stopped at Evergreen (Hurrans) for a coffee on the way back. Very damp and very cold out there, since I got back I filled the bird feeders as I spotted 4 greenfinches out there and now I am in for the rest of the day in the warm. I find if I wear a fleece gillette over my indoor clothes it keeps we nice and warm, then, when the house gets really warm in the evening I can take it off.
No sympathy for R or T today then, one is at work and one at golf!!!!!
Have you tried putting your glasses 8into a slightly different position when on the pc or watching TV? I sometimes have to move mine a bit to get the best vision without neck ache. My problem is that between the hearing aids, the bridge, the glasses some bit of me always aches Lol!!!!

Ann, yes, I have, but have to admit that they don't sit right on my nose then... I have had two breas to the bridge of my nose, so it is a bit bumpy, lol.... I will pop into the optician this week and see if the can adjust it.... at the moment, if I move them to where it is slightly clearer, they slip off my nose completely lolol!
Other than that, they are brilliant... once they have been adjusted to sit properly, I think I shall get along nicely with them... it is great knowing where they are all the time.... I have saved so much time not having to look for them wmsl ;¬))
I have seen another wren... well, it might be the same one, but it is at the front, not the back... it was rummaging around in the blackberry that is growing over from next door, and which I still haven't cut back.... I might not do that now, if there is a wren living there! Aw Bless it!

Hiya Maz..... I would usually e-mail my candidates if I needed to go through some stuff with them... for instance, if there were gaps in the knowledge base that they needed to fill... I would have a list of questions for them... their answers often filled those gaps.
Also, if there has been a bit of a problem with workplace evidence..... they might need to chat to you about that.....
The only thing I can suggest is to sit tight, try not to worry.... go over your file and see if you can find any gaps at all in your evidences... if you see any... think of ways you can show that, courses you've been on etc.
It does sound as though there have been problems with your assessor, so it might be that is what they want to discuss...
Also... yes, I have known an external verifier pick out three or four portfolios.... and usually, they will be checking on the assessors work... not yours! A sort of quality control, to make sure that the assessors are being fair etc.
Try not to worry.... and good luck
Oh... long story, but have not got anything done today..... well, loads done, but not what I intended to do, lol.... and I have found the forms., lolol

Don't they tell you why? have you made any complaints etc? I know you have been dissatisfied with how things have gone. Don't be afraid to take a note book with you with your concerns written down if you have any.

The back of one of the units.... I think it was probably Jethro knocked them off, lol....... he knocked an envelope I put there this afternoon... and fishing that out I came across some other stuff... a couple of pens, a piece of jigsaw, and the forms, lolol!! He was cross with me yesterday... I had chased him back out with live mice... so he was sulking! lol He is very clever.
I have been very touched today... I had some mail which meant I needed to telephone the mother of a resident in the home I managed... I had been sent some delicate information.... because my name has never been removed from the official docs, even though I know I signed them all and handed them over..... mum was there at the time, and had also signed them, my line manager was then supposed to have dealt with it as I left that day!That was over 6 years ago!
This mum, was so pleased to hear from me... she had been at a meeting today, and had actually said to someone how much she missed me still as a manager, and as a carer for her daughter... she said no-one had held a candle to me... I am afraid I was a bit tearful when I put the phone down... I loved working there until it was taken over.
Maybe she was just being nice... but it was good to hear anyway! lol My goodness I am getting so vain! But it brought it all flooding back... all the good bits, anyway.
Love
