To be honest Caz, not many were as I expected. One or two of them I had swapped photo's with before, so I more or less knew what they vaguely looked like. The lovely Foggy, was as I thought, as at one other meet someone had said he was like an older version of Adam Faith. But Johnny Blue Eyes was nothing like I expected. He's a lovely man, but you get the image of a much younger man than he is. I sound awful saying that dont I, and I really dont mean to be mean about him, because he is so nice. Love Mo xxx

I'm ok Mo my back is being nice to me at the moment, just backache, but I'm having trouble with my leg, the matron came to have a look at it yesterday after I had rung the doctors, they thought it might have been a thrombosis, blimey that's all I needed. It's not it's just fluid and heavy to try and walk. It's Jean I'm worried about, it has gone on so long now, she is still making her cards though, nothing keeps our Jean down. Glad you enjoyed your meet, did the people match what you thought they might look like or were they completely different, I tend to get a picture in my mind of what I think they would look like.

Good evening girls. Caz, I wish there was something they could do for Jean. It really worries me that this has gone on for so long now, it's not surprising she was frightened. I have never known anyone to have suffered it for such a time as this.
I had guessed your reason for making the dental appointment when you had love. What sort of a day have you had today, not to painful I hope.
I went to the meet up in Victoria today. It was lovely to meet all the people, that we may speak to on here, and have no idea what they look like. The weather was really kind to us, brilliant sunshine. It was just a pity that the place for the meet, didn't have a garden, or we could have sat outside for a change. All in all, a wonderful day.
Sallie, did you get all the information you needed on Friday. I hope your brother was o.k, and that you both enjoyed yourselves.
Love to you all Mo xxx

Just a quickie to tell her friends that our Jean isn't well at all. The vertigo is bad and this afternoon she said she was frightened with it as the bedroom wouldn't stop going round, in the end it did and she got some sleep. Must be one of the worst things to have to live with. By the way Mo we made the dentist appointment then because OH was on holiday, he gets home from work going on for 7 oclock so no chance of getting to the dentist, and I can't get there on my own so he has to take me. Hope everyone is keeping well.

Hi all, Sallie they didn't have my cancer count because the nurse who took the sample didn't take any for it, it will show up the next time in three weeks. After walking round the hospital on Wednesday I had no energy at all yesterday and legs wouldn't hold me, I'm fed up of going there now, the cancer clinic is at the very top of hospital and pharmacy way down the other end where I get my chemo from. I stopped half way there as couldn't go any further so OH went and got it for me, what would I do without him. I'm waiting for the nurse to pop in then going to lie down and raise my legs, a good way to spend the day as I can't do any housework. Going to sit and do some stamping now for my cards. Oh nearly forgot, Joyce rang me last night to say she had seen her doctor and her toe isn't broke or fractured but badly bruised, she said the bruising is coming out now.

Good morning all,
Just looking in before we go to Wales. Hope that you are all alright and that Caz, Jean and Joyce are not in as much pain and discomfort as they have been lately.
Sylvia, to sleep so long and not hear anything at all you really must have needed that sleep. Have a good time at the dinner dance tonight, it will be nice to see people that you don't see often, so that you can catch up on each others news. I hope your back will feel better so that you can relax and enjoy yourself.
Mo, we found out a couple of years ago that Wilki----s don't do blinds in bigger sizes, so since then we go to D-n---m for them.
Hope you have a great time at the London meet tomorrow. Is the first meet you will have been to? Enjoy your day and take care.
Huia, glad the party went ok, it was nice to have a couple of hours out and to meet the other ladies that work at the shop. Although it's a shame that no one else took a baby photo of themselves.
Well ladies, I'd better go for a shower and get ready, so I'll speak to you all tomorrow.
Take care.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hi there. The party went ok, but I am not really a party animal. We were told to take a baby photo of ourselves, but I was the only one who had done so. The manager was dishing out drinks but I declined as they are 'not my cup of tea' and I am supposed to avoid alcohol because of some tabs I take. My skirt was certainly 'sexy' as it was see-through, although there was a liner under it, but the liner was tight and only came down to the top of my legs. My green wig looked stupid and it was too hot to wear for long. The woman who used my camera to take a photo of me didnt get the lower half into it, and she didnt wait for the camera to focus so it is a little fuzzy. But it was nice to meet some of the other ladies that I hadnt met before, although there were only 8 of us there altogether, but more than that and I would have had great trouble hearing anything (apart from a babble of voices).
The party started at 6.30, although I got there early. I also left early at 8.00 so I could get home at a reasonable hour (8.30).
Now I had better get on with more washing of clothes and bedding.
Huia.

It sounds like you needed that sleep Sylvia, even if it was a drug induced sleep. That's the only problem with having to use such strong pain relief, they may help with tha pain, but sometimes make you feel like a zombie.
Good grief is it time for the ball again. It seems to have come round very quickly this year. If I remember rightly, you were undecided what to wear last year, but you are well in control this year aren't you, a golden sparkly top with your long black skirt. I must say it sounds very elegant. Enjoy yourselves, and let us know how it goes. Is your OH going to be singing with the choir this year at the event.
When we decorated our kitchen, I decided that the blinds needed changing. So of I went and bought the replacements, taking the measurements, as I thought. Today Roly went to put them up, and yes you have guessed right, I had bought the wrong sizes. Back we went to Wil*insons, and shock horror, they don't do them in the bigger size that we needed. So we got a refund, and went of to Dunh*lm M*lls, and they actually had the correct size that we needed. Of course it was my fault, but when I bought them home originally, Roly said I had bought the right size, so I am not quite sure who's fault it really is. LOL Yes I know it was mine for measuring the gap wrong, but I was not going to admit to that now, was I.
I wonder how Huia's, St Patricks day event went.
I will say cheerio for now girls, take care. Love Mo xxx

Hi all
Sallie .... maybe Outpatients in Holland is different from A&E in the UK and Emergency here?
After all, what is the point of having an Emergency if you can't go to it in an emergency?!!
I wonder if Joyce is thinking of an outpatient clinic ... which we also have and for which you do usually need a referral. But it is separate from Emergency
I suddenly got really tired this afternoon, maybe all the painkillers I've taken over the last few days?? Anyway, I went to bed at about 2 pm and slept until after 5:30pm. Never even heard OH come home about 2:30pm, or make coffee for himself!
Have to be bright and cheery for tomorrow .............. we're going out to a dinner dance, a fund raiser for the Student Opera Program that OH helps with (sometimes even singing in the chorus, as the tame greybeard!).
It's what they used to call the Masked Ball ....... this year, it's called the Opera Ball. I have a new golden coloured sparkly top with long sleeves, and a frill round the lowish neck. It goes well with my long black taffeta skirt
take care

Hello Caz, was the doctor still in nappies. My lord they seem to get younger and younger don't they.
I can't believe you had another wasted journey, but at least with the CT scan, it will show how you are progressing. I don't blame you for being so cheesed of though, it seems as if they have put you on the back burner doesn't it love. But god willing the final result will be a good one.
Oh and another appointment change with the dentist, May is a long time to have to wait for the appointment though. Surely the dentist is not going to be unwell for that long. But at the end of the day, I suppose it works out well with your OH's holiday period. And also that you need his help to get there.
Take care honey. Love Mo xxx

Hi again girls,
Just a quick look in to see to see if there was any news of Jean and Caz.
Caz, sorry they didn't have your cancer count again, surely they should get it there ready for your appointment, no wonder you're fed up, being messed about. It's just a waste of time you for you, not to mention the stress you go through each visit. I expect the young doctor felt awful about not having them there for you, but surely the senior doctors should have made sure they were, knowing you had an appointment.
Jean. it's a shame you just missed having an MRI scan at your local hospital and now have to wait until 4th April before you can have one at Bolton. At least it's good that it's at the beginning and not the end of April. It's a pity they couldn't have squeezed you in while they are still in Rochdale, either tomorrow or Friday, but then there are other patients having to wait too, so maybe that sounds a bit sefish.
I thought that Joyce had said that Jan had ran over her toe with the scooter, but wasn't entirely sure that he had. So thanks Liz for confirming that, I didn't want to put it on here if I had misheard Joyce. Joyce also said that the doctors was closed early today, and that she couldn't go to the outpatients at the hospital, without her doctor first ringing them. We are very lucky here in the UK as we can go staight to A&E and hopefully will be able to continue to do so in the future.
Huia, hope you can go to the St. Patrick's Day party and that you'll have a good time there. Enjoy yourself and take care.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi girls, I saw a new doctor this morning but I don't think he should have been out of med school yet, he looked so young, he was lovely though. He didn't have a result from my blood test so I don't know whether the cancer count is going down. I have to go for another CT scan in about six weeks, I'm fed up of it all now. Jean went to hospital this morning and had a hearing test and has to go for an MRI scan in April, I don't think she will mind me telling you. Huia I hope you get rid of the nasties soon and for good this time, it doesn't sound very nice at all, the itching must have driven you to distraction. Sylvia I really feel for you with your back, with mine as it is I can't sit down sometimes all I can do is lie, I have morphine for mine. Oh yes our dentists appointments, receptionist rang this morning to cancel Friday so we are going beginning of May when OH is next on holiday. Poor Joyce Sallie has already said about her toe, she can't put her foot on the floor, what next for her I wonder as there's always something happening to her.
Love Caz xx
Edited to say I didn't see Jean had already been on, missed her there.

I have just had a shower to wash off all the gooby that I put on me yesterday (with help from my daughter). Now I have to wash all my clothes and sheets and towels, etc. I think I will leave washing some of them until tomorrow, hoping it is still fine tomorrow. I am hoping to go to a St Patrick's party tonight at the Hospice shop, so dont want to be too tired for that.
Yes, I had thought of wearing gloves when I visit Phil, but skin to skin contact is much better. Still, if I cant I cant.
Must go, the pile of washing is whistling to me.

Just a quickie to say hi to everyone, and sorry for all your problems and aches and pains.
I spoke with Joyce on Tuesday, Jan had to get her scooter out of the shed to use the shed and he suggested she ride it back down to the shed, but she refused so he did it and ran over her foot. A bit dodgy considering her bones are so bad in her feet, she isn't sleeping properly because of all her pains so is very fed up and tired. Her family are still squabbling over things but at least she has her granddaughter's baby to look forward to seeing pictures of when it arrives and hopefully she will be able to go over and meet the little one during the summer.
Jean, sorry you are having such a bad time and hope you will feel better soon as with everyone else hurting and struggling.
Lots of 'gossip' from my lot here but will try and add later, must do some chores and do some phone calls while o.h.is at work
take care Love Lizxxx

Oh I nearly missed you Jean, we posted at the same time.
It's a nuisance that you have got to travel all the way to Bolton, but if thats the quickest route to getting it done sooner, then so be it. You need to know what the heck is causing this Vertigo, and for it to be sorted as quick as possible.
Take care of yourself for me honey. Love to you both. Mo xxx

Hello there Sallie. It's good to have you back with us again love. Poor Richard, how could you embarrass the boy like that. Fancy singing to him in public LOL I bet he wanted to crawl under the table, to get away from you and Christie. But I am pleased you had a good time with them. How long will you be in Wales for.? But it will be nice to see your brother again though wont it. How has he been since his operation. I know he was in a lot of pain for some time wasn't he. The tax office have certainly taken their time, informing people about what they say they owe. But crikey £4,000 is a big difference, and a lot to have to repay, for what was their mistake in the first place.
I wish that we hear from Jean and Caz, I just hope that things went o.k for them both. But then lets hope that no news is good news.
Oh for crying out loud, poor ol Joyce is in the wars again. As if she hasn't had enough to worry about. Take care of yourself Joyce, and put that foot up for a while.
My god Huia, I thought that the Scabies had all cleared up love. Have they checked to make sure that Phil is free from it as well. Theres you worrying that you may be giving it to him, when in fact it could be coming from the home again. Cotton gloves would be a good idea for you to be able to hold his hand, without passing it from one to the other.
Sylvia, I bet you hate having to rely on tablets, to keep the back pain at bay. Medication should be checked at least every six months, to make sure they are doing the job they are supposed to be doing. I hope they find a more suitable one for you.
My son has got to go back to the hospital, about his spine again. the last operation they did, was a success, but he now has bad pains in his lower back, and may need further surgery. My god will all this ever finish, if it's not my family suffering, it's my friends on here.
Bye for now girls, I will pop back later to see if theres any news on Jean and Caz.

Hi, everyone my hospital visit turned out to a bit more than I expected, the outcome is I had to have an hearing test before I saw the cosultant, he told me it was o.k. and didnt think there was any connection with the dizziness, so I have to have MRI scan 4th April and I have to go to Bolton for it...bit of a nuisance even though they do them at our local hospital, but it was mobile unit I went to and will have to go to them again , they leave Rochdale on Friday so Bolton is the next stopover....how daft is that....lol...so there you are my lovelys, many thanks for all your good wishes...

Hello Girls,
It seems ages since I've " chatted " to you all, between making birthday cards and going to Richard's for a couple of days, I don't know where the time has gone.
Huia, I really hope that you can well and truly get rid of it this time. It must be driving you mad, as I know it would me.
It's going to be difficult for you not to be able to hold Phil's hand when you visit him, as it's one of the first things we all do to feel closer to our family and friends in public. I'm wondering that maybe you could wear some kind of gloves when you visit Phil, so that you could then hold his hand.
Sylvia, sorry to hear that your back is more painful lately, hope your doctor will be able to give you different medication that will take the pain away. Hope MJ is better now, bless him. It's a shame that he was poorly for his for his 1st Birthday.
Caz, hope all has gone well at the hospital for you today. I've been thinking about you.
Jean, also hope that all went well at the hospital for you and that they can do something to help you.
As I started to write this post, Joyce rang me, she thinks that she may have fractured her big toe, I sure she said that Jan had accidently wheeled her scooter over it. Poor Joyce, I hope it will soon get better.
Mo, well done to you and your team on winning on Monday night. You never know the team you play against next week may have an off night and play badly, and then your team will win.
Ann, pleased that you are enjoying your week in the Lake District. You certainly had a good time at Paper Warehouse lolol!!!.....sounds just the place that I would like. Hope the weather will be better for you for the rest of the week.Take care.
I hope that Marie and her family are all okay, as we haven't heard from her for a while.
Well we had a nice couple of days with Richard and Christie. Yesterday we went to Reading, Richard looked for a casual jacket for himself, which Alun and I were going to pay for as his birthday present from us....he couldn't get one in his size that he liked, so we gave him the money so that he can try somewhere else for one. The weather was nice, so we went from Reading to Windsor, parked by the side of the river and walked up to the town centre, so that Christie and I could get a small birthday cake for Richard.
We then had a lovely meal at a pub restaurant in Old Windsor , where the waitress lit some candles on the cake and we sung happy birthday ....I don't think Richard knew where to put his face.lolol!!
We got home very early this morning, because our car had to go in for a service and M.O.T. and also BT came to install a new telephone line for us as we have now changed suppliers. We are now with TalkTalk instead of Virgin Media, so we now have a new telephone number and e-mail address.
Alun got a letter from the Inland Revenue on Monday, telling him that because of their mistakes he has not paid enough tax, so that he now owes them £4,000 and that they will take it out each month over the next tax year. I'm absolutely furious with them, because of their incompetence, Alun, and thousands like him now have to go that much short in their wages each month. They seem to think that it's okay for people to go without that money now, because they (the tax people) didn't do their job properly to start with.
Alun and I are going down to Wales on Friday, to the Gwent Records Office and then to my brother's. We have to go up to visit Alun's sister and brother-in-law in Ilkley, Yorkshire, sometime soon, but when that will be is anyones guess. Although Alun still has a couple of days coming to him from this years holidays, so hopefully we'll be able to go before too long.
Well, I think I've rambled on enough for now.lol!! Speak to you all soon.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx
