Oh Mo, your waves must have been why my bed was shaking at 1.15 this morning!

I am thinking of going in to Papakura this afternoon, to our genealogy rooms, to look at the electoral rolls. The online ones dont have them all.

Hi girls.
Ann, I hope I haven't missed you, have a lovely holiday, speak to you during the week when you have the spare time.

Jean, the team I play for on a Thursday, play differently to how we do on a Monday night.
They play singles, pairs, and three's. I won my singles,we won our doubles my partner and I, but lost our three's. All together we won the night 7-4.
I am playing Monday night, in the fours knockouts, but please Jean, save your pennies, it's very dubious we will get very far.

Sallie, I hope you and Joyce have a lovely meet tomorrow. Let us know how it goes wont you, just have fun all of you.

~~~~~~~~~~back at Huia, who will no doubt be in bed by now.
Caz hope you are bearing up today love. Have you got the sun at your end of the country. It's a glorious day here in Kent, shoppings all done, just sitting here relaxing enjoying a nice cup of tea. I bet that will make our Sallie envious.
Linda should be back from her holiday this weekend, I hope they have had a lovely time.
Wheres Tess to I wonder, lets hope she is o.k.
Cooeee Sylvia, Marie, Liz and all our friends.
Will be back later, love Mo xxx
Hope you won Mo.
Caz, you put us all to shame with the way that you try and ignore your illness and pain. It is good that you have had some good news.
We are off to Dorset tomorrow for a week. Will probably be on here first thing but I will also have my netbook with me so will be able to pop in occasionally. :-) :-)
Hi all, Jean lovely to see you on here, you don't visit us often enough. Thank you all for being happy for me, I treat my illness with contempt, and don't think about it much, I have much worse things wrong with me. Maybe by ignoring it and taking the chemo it will bu**er off in time, I am lucky in that it is only in spots in my bones the doc told me yesterday but only in my body not limbs, but theres a lot. The good news is I have been told I will die of old age, lol.
I hope everyone going to the meet on Saturday will enjoy themselves, I wish I could be there but I can't travel.
Sylvia I loved your story of MJ, they all do it different, my daughter was in the big bath at nine months when she decided to get up and walk the whole length, then just looked at me and my MIL and laughed, it was so funny.
Thanks for that info Ann, makes me realise how fortunate I am to have been told how to do the exersises, wouldnt you think that other sufferers would be able to get the same info, mine were printed out on paper showing the way to do them, easy for a doctor to pass on...
Caz, that is great news, I am so pleased for you and hope you can stay off the chemo. Also hope your toes heal quickly. Thanks for the good wishes re our holiday, we will be away for a week but I will have my laptop and hope to have access.
Jean, there was a two page spread in Saga magazine this month about vertigo and benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) in particular. It mentions the exercises and the success theya re having with patients doing them. It seems that there are so few of the special clinics to treat it that patients are waitin up to 44 months to attend one.
Sallie Report 18 May 2011 22:06
Hi Jean, so pleased to hear that your vertigo is so much better. As you say, I'm sure it's wonderful not feeling dizzy so much of the time. It's amazing what the exercises have done to help you.
Hope J and D are both alright, too.
Mo. thank you for the e-card of Lilly, she is beautiful and looks so contented and happy. I hope she'll win the baby competition.
Do you know when they will announce the winners?
Well, I'll speak to you all tomorrow.
Hello everyone, Caz brilliant news, you are one brave lady and lovely with it....lol...
Sallie I have been told not to take any more of the vertigo tabs , it seems the exersises I have to do should hopefully keep the dizziness in check it feels wonderful not being so dizzy all the time... hope you enjoy your meet....
its nice to see all your news and what you are up to, I am grateful for all your thoughts that have been a big help over the last few weeks, I am so pleased that this thread has become special to a lot of folk and always available to anyone who needs a hug and support, this is not only the regulars but anyone who would like to add their thoughts and needs there is always someone who will listen....
so love to you all
Hi all
xxx
Caz ............. what great news! I am so happy for you ....... and hope that you can continue to not need more chemo
It is another lovely day here, and this is supposed to last through until at least Monday
it seems spring has sprung!
The farmers will be cheering ..... it has been too cold and wet for them to plant seeds, so lots of things (veggies and fruit, as well as farm crops) will be several weeks late.
Monday is a Stat holiday, our version of your Bank holiday
It is Victoria Day, and is held on the Monday closest to May 24th
May 24th was Queen Victoria's birthday, and we still celebrate it!!
In many parts of the country (ie, the colder areas like the Prairies), Victoria Day is the traditional day to start planting or sowing seed, in gardens and on farms. They reckon that the chance of overnight frosts is almost negligible after that date.
Not in BC of course ............. people like OH often plant soem things as early as early April, if not late March. Still a bit risky, but often works out OK.
Take care everyone
Ooooh Caz thats brilliant news, I am sooo pleased for you love. Thank you for telling us, news such as this is great to hear.
Lets hope and pray even harder that you don't need to go back on the chemo in three weeks time. Now that would be absolutely the cherry on the top of the cake for you.
I can't believe how spiteful people can be, to spoil a loved ones grave, by stealing things from it.
I hope who ever it was gets their comeuppance, when they get to meet their maker. Nasty individuals.
Sallie, Lilly's photo in the competition keeps moving up the page, so I never know where she is going to end up next.
I will go onto the site in a minute,and send you an e.card of her.
I will be back soon, going to send Sallie baby Lilly's photo.
Hi Caz,
Wonderful news! Let's hope that the cancer will stay that way for a long, long time. I'm so very pleased for you.
I can't get over someone stealing the wind chime off one off one of Joyce's family grave. It's amazing what some people will stoop so low to these days.....it seems that respect has gone "out of the window" with some these days.
Thanks for sharing your good news with us. Speak to you soon.
Hello girls, I just had to share my good news, I went to see cancer doc this morning and he is pleased with me and said the cancer has levelled off, I am not having any more chemo for three weeks, yipee. He stopped it because it has made my toes very sore to walk on so I hope they clear up in three weeks.
I didn't come on Mo because I couldn't sit down properly but had to come on to share my good news, Im thrilled.
Sylvia it seems that boys are always thinking about their tummy's, my youngest sons first word was "dinner". Sallie I bet you are looking forward to Saturday, it will be lovely to meet up with people you have only written to. Joyce phoned me a bit earlier and said it is very cold here like you mentioned,she has been to the grave she wanted to see and her son put a windchime on a grave, not sure whos, and they found out today someone had taken it and put it on theirs, how baad is that.
Oh my tea is out so better go.
Hello to everyone else I haven't mentioned.
Love Caz xx
Just to say I hope you have a good week Ann and the weather stays good for you.
Sallie
Sallie Report 18 May 2011 15:02
Hello Girls,
I came on here yesterday, almost finished writing a long message to everyone, and then lost it all. I didn't have time to write it all again as we went to do our shopping instead of doing it today, as Alun is going to the club tonight as well as tomorrow night.
The layout they are building at the moment is of a local area when steam trains ran, so with it being a very big layout there is a lot of electrical work still to be done.
Marie, pleased to hear that you are feeliing a lot better now, I hope that the scabs left from your cold sores will soon clear, as you say, they don't look very nice.
Thank you for asking,"the old black dog" is keeping away at the moment, thank goodness.....and hope he never returns, too.
I find that making cards is a big help, at keeping it away, the majority of the time.
Hope your granddaugther is better, and that the results of her kidney scan
will be good.
Sylvia, it certainly sounds as though MJ is coming on in leaps and bounds. He'll be walking to you for a big hug and kiss the next time you'll see him. Bless him!
Caz, hope you are feeling a bit better and more comfortable than you've been lately. Joyce rang me earlier on, telling me that she had arrived in Liverpool. By the sound of it, she is finding it colder over here than in Holland. I just hope that the weather will improve by the weekend, so that it will be nice for the Sheffield meet.
Mo, well done to you and your team for winning on Monday night. Are you also playing a match with another team tomorrow night? Hope both you and Roly are alright.
I've been trying to find your granddaughter Lilly on the the baby competition site......but there are quite a few Lilly's so I don't know which one she is. I want to vote for her, but don't want to vote for the wrong one.
I haven't had much time lately.....been very busy making cards, I have three more to do today....it's Jennie and Michael's 5th Wedding Anniversary on Friday......I don't know where that five years have gone to.
Ann, hope you and T have a lovely holiday in Dorset and that the weather will be good for you.
I have some more cards that can go on your blog, just as soon as Alun takes the photos of them. I'll have to get Jude's e-mail addy if she won't mind putting them on there. I'll be seeing her on Saturday at the Sheffield meet.....really looking forward to meeting her.
Huia, so pleased that you enjoyed the concert. It's always nice to meet up with friends and aquaintances that we haven't seen for a long time.
So glad that your son found that dead rat, I wouldn't like to think of how bad the smell would have been for you if he hadn't found it.
Tess, good to hear that you are feeling a lot better, and are getting out and about.
As you say, we have a lot to be thankful for compared to a lot of people.
Just noticed that your research covers, Herefordshire,and Monmouthshire. Alun's paternal ancestors come from Herefordshire, we have managed to get back as far as the late 1400's with some of them, but are stuck in the early 1800's on the Vaughan side. So many Richard and William Vaughan's, we don't know which ones belong to us.lol!!
Jean, hope your tablets have now kicked in and that your vertigo is now a lot better.
I like the last three cards you put on Ann's blog.
For some reason I seem to have trouble making Anniversary cards, I'm never happy with them when they are finished. Ideas for them don't come very easily.
Joyce, if you are looking in, have a safe journey to Sheffield tomorrow and take care.
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.
Well ladies I had better get on with the rest of the cards. Speak to you all soon.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx
Sylvia, is she sure he didnt say nookie, or rookie or bookie or hooky or lookie (look at me)?
Mo, the Mozart concert wasnt all opera. There were some pieces from a couple of his operas, nice light pieces. There were also some of his religious pieces, plus his Grand Mass (I think that is what it was called).
