Hi Girls,
Caz, if you're looking in, I hope that there was an improvement in Phil's condition when you visited him tonight. Let's hope that he won't be in hospital very long and that he'll soon be home with you.
Hope that you are managing to cope on your own, it must be very difficult for you. Thinking about both of you, and sending love and positive thoughts.
Jean, so pleased to know that Jeff is doing so well and hope that it won't be too long before he is home.
Tess, I wish I had had that excuse when I did the casserole...... unfortunately, I only have my age as an excuse.lol!!
Anyway I hope that you haven't had anymore trouble with the water being turned off, since then.
I was speaking to Joyce earlier this afternoon, her doctor sent her to the hospital for a chest xray this morning, she will get the result tomorrow. So let's hope that the result will be alright.
Jennie, went to see the IBD nurse this afternoon, she is sending Jennie an appointment with the Consultant for next Thursday, as she is very concerned about her. I must say that Jennie looks awful, and still has little or no appetite. She also had the usual blood tests that she has when she goes to the clinic, and if there is a problem with the results the nurse will ring Jennie tomorrow. So, I just hope and pray that she will be alright....... Qh well, we shall have to wait see.
Linda, hope that your mum and dad are a bit better, and that things will get sorted for them very soon.
Mo, if you are playing in a darts match tonight, hope your team will win.
Huia, hope you managed to get back to sleep after your mug of Horlicks.
~~~~~~~to all our other friends on here.
Thinking about you all, Take care.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx
Good evening girls. Tess, were they doing repairs to the mains near you, when your water went off. It surely can't be because of a water shortage, not with all the rain we have had lately. I know they were talking about imposing a hose pipe ban not so long ago. I wonder if it will still be put in place.
Linda, my friends daughter is doing security duty at ascot this week. She was in the royal box yesterday. I'm a typical goggle box watcher, when someone I know will be on the screen, but I never ever spot them. I hope mum and dad are still improving. Is there any news on what is going to be happening with them yet.
Huia, that helicopter landing not far away from you, was responding to an emergency call, someone had heard you blowing your nose, and thought you were calling for help. ;-) I hope you are feeling a bit better now. Things always get worse at night don't they, especially when laying down. You take care of yourself love.
Jean, fabulous news about Jeff,god bless him, he is made of very strong stuff. I hope you Debra and Steven, can get a bit more rest now, knowing he is on the road to recovery.
Take care everyone, love and best wishes Mo xxx
I fell asleep quickly when i went to be, although it was a restless sleep as I had to keep blowing my nose, and a helicopter landed down the road somewhere. I hope nobody had a medical emergency, although I suspect it would be for that. I woke half an hour ago and couldnt get back to sleep so I have had a drink of horlicks and am playing on here for a while.
Huia, all that trouble just to get a man to pick you up. I will have to try it sometime.
I hope that your knee stops giving you pain soon. Perhaps you are having trouble hearing, even with the aids, because of you cold/flu, maybe you are "bunged up" in the ear, nose, throat region. Good idea though to take the phones with you when you go for your appointment. I hope that you feel up to going for the rearranged one next week.
Linda, I hope that you enjoyed your day trip in France and were able to leave your troubles behind. Am sending your parents healing vibes. Hope that the decorating goes well.
Sylvia, gosh! $350! I hope that you computer does well at the computer hospital. Will keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't get MRSA or any other super bug.
Sallie, if you were living at my house when you were making the casserole, you would have had an excuse for not putting in the stock. My water was off earlier in the day, it had gorn! Luckily it is back again now, so I am about to drink my second cup of Chai. I hope that Jennie regains her appetite and that her appointment is helpful. Jean, glad to hear that the flowers are still looking good and that Jeff is improving. Will be reading Cazz's thread later.
My new specs. should be ready early next week. I need to sort out stuff to take to the charity shops nearby. Then I will have less junk in the way here. ~~~~~~~~~ to Mo, Betty, Caz, Marie, Ann, Joyce, Liz and Jude as well as Sallie, Sylvia, Huia, Linda and Sylvia.
I am wondering if my rotten cold might be a new version of fllu. It certainly feels that way. I have spent most of the day sleeping and will probably go to bed soon, though I dont know if I will get to sleep after all the sleep I have had today. I could be on here in the wee small hours again!
Ah well, I dont have to go anywhere tomorrow. I cancelled my appointment with the H.A. people as I just felt so woozy. I have another appointment for next week.
Morning all Thanks for the thoughts for my parents. I didn't get any updates yesterday as I was away on a day trip to France. I think today will be decision day as to whether Dad needs a further operation or can go home. And dendant upon that as to whether Mum is well enough to go back to respite and eventually back home if Dad is well enough to care for her himself. I will keep you updated.
It is very wet here today, not far from Ascot so Ladies Day isn't looking good.
Think we might get a bit more decorating done today as I don't think we will get much gardening done LOL
Have a good day everyone
Hi all xxx
Huia ... do hope your knee feels better today.
i agree with Caz, always feel so stupid when I fall .............. as I did last year after I'd got off the bus!
Linda ..... hope things are improving with your parents.
Sallie ... do hope Jennie is improving
OH is picking up the chainsaw this afternoon ............. he had to take it into the repair place because it wouldn't start.
He also had to take the car and trailer into the garage ............. the trailer indicator lights wouldn't work after he hitched it up. Years ago, he tried to correct a similar problem with our old car ...... couldn't get the trailer lights to work, and eventually took it to "our" garage man. Response was "why don't you stick to what you can do very well, and leave it up to us to do car stuff?"!!
The problem this time turned out to be a car problem ............ the "module" was not working and needed replacing. $350 later .....................
We're going to take my computer into the GoGo Geek hospital in a couple of hours for its annual check-up ........... they'll do it while we are away.
I'm not sure whether we will get back early enough on Tuesday to pick it up or whether I'll have to wait until Wednesday
Take care everyone
Oh Huia,you are in the wars love arn't you, bless ya cotton socks. If you have damaged yourself, get a good lawyer, and sue the backside of the people /authority responsible for the uneven footpath. It seemed funny to read that you posted at 3.32 a.m over there, and your posting received on this side of the world is 4.35 p.m.
Sallie, did you get the photo I sent you. I don't know what we are going to do with you Sallie. Fancy putting the casserole in without any stock. Thank goodness Jennie is on the mend, give her a hug from me. How is Richards job going now. Is he working closer to where he lives. My son is still about an hours drive away from home, and that is not to bad, as long as we don't get the snow, that shuts down the roads out from the area he works in, like it did last year. Even the trains couldn't get through.
be back soon someones at the door.
Here I am at 3.32 a.m. I slept for almost 4 hours but my grazed knee is too sore to sleep on my tummy as I usually do, and I have a rotten cold, something I havent had for several years now, so couldnt get back to sleep. I have taken a couple of panadol+codeine tablets in the hopes they will move the headache and let me sleep again, although the stuffed nose is also a problem. Maybe I will use the eucalyptus inhalant before I go back to bed.
This afternoon I joined GR's Band of Fallen Women :-D ! I went to town to buy a telephone which is supposed to be hearing aid compatible. Huh, chance would be a fine thing :-0. I managed to fall over due to a bad bit of footpath and had to ask a man to help me to my feet.
Tomorrow afternoon I have an appointment with the hearing people so I will take both my phones and will ask them what I am doing wrong. Or is it my aids. I would be better off removing them to talk on the phone. If it cant be sorted, I want my money back!! Another thing, I had trouble hearing the young man who served me, even though we were facing each other and there was only the width of the counter between us. Definitely something wrong.
Hi Everyone,
Mo, sorry but I just had to smile when you said about the Sat Nav. Something like that would happen to us if we used a Sat Nav.....Alun won't have one, he says he would prefer to rely on maps. Not that we can always find where we are supposed to be going using thoselol!!!
I did a silly thing today, I really think I'm losing it.....I made a casserole for our dinner tonight, nice and easy, just put it all in a dish together, which I did, all that is except the stock.LOL!! Just as well I decided a bit later on to give it a stir, and I couldn't understand why it was dry and then the penny dropped. Anyway I added the stock, and the casserole was lovely.
Sylvia, hope that everything will be alright at the cabin and that both you and OH will enjoy a nice peaceful time there.
Jean, glad to hear that Jeff is still improving. As you say he doesn't realise how ill he's been, so it's going to take a good while to regain his strength . Hope Debra is alright. When does she get her exam results? Also hope that your vertigo is better, and that you are able to rest and relax more now.
Jennie is slowly getting better, thank you. but she feels very weak and she isn't eating much at all. I think that might be because of the antibiotics. She finishes the last lot on Thursday, so hopefully she'll start to to get her appetite back then. She also goes to see the IBD nurse at the hospital on Thursday afternoon, so will have to wait and see how she gets on.
Linda, did you manage to go and see both your parents. I hope that things are no worse with either of them.
Huia, glad to hear that Phil was a bit brighter when you visited him this time.
Thinking of all our friends on here and hope that Joyce and Caz are both feeling a bit better.
~~~~~~~to Marie, Tess and to all or friends.
Well ladies, speak to you all tomorrow.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hi there everyone. Just a quickie, it's taken me ages to get back onto the site tonight. I posted earlier,and when I wanted to submit it, the darn page went,and I got the usual message, site under repair. Really fed up of all this arn't you.
Jean, I am pleased to hear that the flowers are still looking o.k. I will check on Caz's thread in a minute, re your update on Jeff. Well thats if I can stay on here long enough.
Linda, I hope that you found mum and dad a little better today. At least once you have seen them, you can hopefully rest easier. Did they do the tests on dad that they said they were going to do.
Huia it sounds like you need a Sat Nav in your car. Mind you, you cant always rely on them. We were going to visit our son, at a hospital we had never been to before, but somehow we ended up at the crematorium. Not exactly a good place to end up at when our son was so unwell. lol
Sylvia, you be careful round that chainsaw. If your OH starts swinging it about, run like hell. ;-) Not long now till you see M.J. ((((((((Big hugs for him from me))))))))))))))
I wonder where Sallie is tonight. I hope alls well with her and Alun.
Hi to Ann, Tess, Marie, Joyce and Caz and all our cyber friends.
Bye for now girls. Love Mo xxx

Hope everyone has a good day today. Really bright sunny start here in the South East.
Off to see my parents this afternoon, both are in different hospitals, but I won't have much chance to see them with hubbies shift working. They both seem stable, if not well. Will try to update you all later.
Managed to cut the grass yesterday evening after all the rain on Sunday

Hello all.
I had a busy day yesterday. I went to visit my sister again over on the other side of the harbour (a bit over an hour to drive there). I took some things she left here 2 yrs ago, plus a photo I printed that dad took back in 1939. After lunch I went to see Phil again. I got a little lost on the way and started going the wrong way round a roundabout! It was rather confusing as although there was a sign saying roundabout it had lots of roads going everywhere and I couldnt see over the top and there was no indication of which way I should go. I realised I was going the wrong way when a car came round the bend on my side! Luckily she managed to avoid me and as it was not a busy roundabout I was able to do a U-turn and go the right way.
Phil was fairly alert and talking a bit.
Today I will be working in the Hospice shop again. I had a day off last Monday as it was Queens birthday in NZ.
Huia.
