Huia Report 18 Sep 2011 21:38

Mo, the fungi come in all colours. I will have to find the photos Phil has taken in the past of some.

This is going to be a lonely thread for a while, with Marie being away from the 27th and me from the 29th. At least there wont be quite so much to read when I get back a week later! Unless you all start chatting busily behind our backs.

Must go as I am off to town soon, to look at booking air fare to Dunedin for late Oct., and of course the hospice shop in the afternoon.

Huia.

Oooh this is so lovely, to hear from you all.
Welcome back Sallie, you have been sorely missed by us all.
It's good to know that family problems have been sorted out now, they always make us feel so down don't they.
Yes we are both still playing darts, for what it's worth these days. At least we can still hit the board on the odd accasions. lol
Both our babies are coming along nicely. Little Lilly is now eating things like chicken and chips, all by herself, thats pretty good for a child of only nearly 8 months old. Not that I agree with the chips mind you, but what can I say without seeming like an interfering mother in law.
Oh yes I forgot to tell you, Lilly's mum and dad are getting married next August.
In answer to both yours and Jeans question, we are going up to Blackpool next month around my birthday.
I am not looking forward to the journey though, it's such a long way from here.
The virus that I had, seems to have gone for now, I am just hoping it doesn't raise its ugly head again in a hurry.

Marie, I hope we do hear from you before you go away, but if we don't, enjoy yourself, you certainly deserve it, after all the hard work you have put into it.

Caz, I love the autumn, but its the time of year when all the pruning has to be done in the garden.
At the moment my roses are still blooming well, and are looking wonderful.
I shall have to get out back, and do some clearing soon though.

Jean my little love, it's lovely to hear from you.
Are you and Jeff going to be going down to Wales this side of Christmas?,
Only I know you were hoping to go, when Jeff got a bit better health wise.
How are both Jeff and Debra. I hope they are both o.k.

Huia I love that Fungi photo, it's such a beautiful colour. Do you get other varieties in other colours as well.?
How is Phil doing lately?

Keeping up the chain of love and thoughts for our Sylvia.
000000000000000000000 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 00000000000000000000000
We will be waiting to hear from you Sylvia, as soon as you feel up to it love.
Take good care of yourself. Love Mo xxx

Hi Girls,

Jean thank you for welcoming me back. I've had a bad couple of weeks, but a lot better than I was, thank goodness. A couple of family problems, nothing serious, just a few misunderstandings but sorted now, hopefully for good. With me feeling so down I wasn't able to pick myself up easily.

Glad to know that you are getting on with your cards, I've had a look at your last cards on Ann's blog, they are really lovely, as usual.

Hope Jeff is much better now and able to get out a bit. Also hope that Debra getting along okay.

I've just started doing cards again today so will get Alun to take photos of them for Ann's blog. I have some ready to go on that I made a few weeks ago, so hope that Jude will kindly put them on for me.

Caz, lovely to hear from you, hope that you are feeling a bit better than you've been lately. You certainly sound better than you've been for a while.
Always thinking of you, I get updates about you off Joyce.
Are you able to make cards now or is still too painful and uncomfortable to sit long enough to make them?

Hope Phil is a lot better now. Is he back at work yet?

We can certainly feel the autumn nip now, as you say all the leaves on the trees are changing colour.
I'm not looking forward to the winter at all, I never minded it when I was younger but as I'm getting older I don't like it at all.
Sorry - moan over!

Mo, sorry to hear that you haven't been very well.....I hope that the antibiotics are working now. I don't think you could have got rid of the chest infection that you had a few months back, it probably didn't clear completely.

How are all the family? I hope that they are all well. I expect that both the babies are coming along in leaps and bounds.

Do both you and Roly still play darts? If you do, I hope that you are both on a winning streak at the moment.

Like Jean, I've been wondering when you go to Blackpool, I'm sure you said you go in October, but not sure of the date.

Sylvia, the boa that your daughter made for you sounds pretty, even though it may be a bit bright. It's lovely to have something special that she's made for you with love....much nicer than anything that she could have paid pounds for.

Continuing the chain of love for you.
0000000000 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 0000000000

Ann, if you are looking in, hope you and Tony are enjoying your holiday.

Huia, I haven't looked at your blog for a few weeks, so I'll have to look at it when I've finished this.

Hope everything is alright with Phil, and that he has responded to you when you've visited him lately.

Zack, hope all goes well with the family reunion. I bet you are getting quite excited about meeting everyone now.

I didn't realise that you would be away so long. Have a great time and take care.

Betty, thank you for thinking about me. I hope that you are feeling a lot better now. Thinking about you. Take care.

Joyce, if you are looking in, just saying hello to you. I hope you have managed to get some sleep, I know it can't be easy when you suffer so much pain.

Well girls, I'll say bye for now. Speak to you all again soon.

Take care everyone.

Love and best wishes.

I have had quite a few of those radio active injections, it's a wonder I don't glow in the dark. We have to use a special toilet when we have them, can't imagine what it does to us.
It's a lovely day here, bright sunshine and a nip in the air, autumn is here I think, my favourite time of year, all the leaves on the trees are changing colour to yellow, red and brown.
Huia I used to take my camera with me all over but usually took birds, I have some lovely action shots with them in the air. I love the wood pidgeon, such a beautiful colour.
Can't sit here much longer so will say hello to all I have missed and see you all later, hope everyone is ok.

Love Caz x

Mo, I havent seen any sign of the rats lately, or heard them gnawing away, but I am sure they will be back :-( I have some poison and traps ready for them. I think they are actually living in our campervan at present, as I went into it with my son to check something, and the stink was abominable. They had been in the cutlery drawer too. I just shut it and got out in a hurry before I was overcome by the smell. I suppose I should put a mask on and go and clean up and set traps or poison in there sometime.

Thinking of you Sylvia. 000000 <3 <3 <3000000

Oh Huia, what a shame you didn't have your camera, or even your cine camera to have captured the ducklings on film.
They are soo sweet arn't they. Mother ducks can be very protective of their young.
It's becoming very quiet on here lately isn't it.
How are you these days? Any more visits from the unwanted visitors( the rats).

I am going to start a chain of love and thoughts for our Sylvia, for a good outcome after her operation on Tuesday.

My best wishes to you Sylvia.

Yesterday I went to town and when I was coming home I had to drive verrrry slowly up part of our road, as there was a pair of paradise ducks with 7 ducklings waddling up the road. I kept waving my fist and yelling 'get off the road you stupid pedestrians' but they ignored me. I tried hanging back to give the parents time to think and to shepherd the youngsters off the road, but every time I thought it would happen and started crawling up again the parents would be each side of the group flapping their wings to keep them together and hurry them up. Then a big truck came round the corner and I thought that would be it, but he stopped in time. At least the ducklings went to the side so he could pass. I had to back up, half into the ditch so he could pass me. I then carried on and managed to get past the ducklings and there was no sign of the parents. I hope they returned and led their brood to safety. With all the logging trucks going up and down our road, the road is no place for families like that. But they looked so cute. Unfortunately I didnt have a camera with me, boohoo.

hi all

it has turned cool, and damp, here

Fall is here, I think!

Getting things together ready for Tuesday. I have to go to one hospital for 6:45 am for them to inject a dye ............. to the Nuclear Medicine department, not sure if that means radioactive dye ;-)

Then we have to cross town to the other hospital ...... and they would like me there for 7:30 am

Do hope the rush hour traffic isn't too bad!! :-D

I got a prezzie yesterday

from daughter

made by her own fair hands, by loom knitting

a fluorescent pink boa (or short stole)

you know, that fluorescent pink they use for breast cancer things?

It actually has a certain attractiveness to it ........ though OH did say "Oh my gawd" when he saw it!

She also sent a card that was filled with little tiny pink and white "ribbons", tied in open bows ........ the breast cancer symbol

The envelope had a warning "Open Carefully". So I opened it over the sink, but managed not to spill any

Do hope that everyone is well, or is recovering, or feeling better xxxxxxx

take care everyone

Sylvia, I bet you are looking all glamorous with your new hair cut. It's nice to know that your hairdresser, is prepared to wash your hair for you, during your recovery. There are not many who are prepared to put themselves out for their customers like that.
There is to much money grabbing goes on these days, and not enough care and consideration for others.
I don't need to tell you that you are in my thoughts love.
You are welcoming the cooling down of the weather, well I wish it would warm up, "just a little" here. The last few days have been really chilly here.

Caz thanks for letting me know that Jean and Jeff are both o.k, thats a relief.
All we need now is for Sallie to get better, and come and join us again. We do miss her dont we.

Must go now girls, things to do, places to go, people to see.
Love to all. Mo xxx

Had my hair cut today ..... hopefully that will keep it looking reasonably respectable during the 10 days or so before I will be able to have a shower after the op next week!

Although, my hairdresser did say that she would wash it for me if I could get in there (and be able to sit in the backward chair) ................ and she would only charge me a little over half the normal price

FINALLY, the weather has cooled down .......... it only got to a little over 20C today (as well as being cloudy for most of the day). But I find that so much more pleasant than whe it was close to 30C! That hot weather went on for over 2 weeks ..... incredible for September!

Not much other news!
