AnninGlos Report 13 Feb 2016 14:41

good to see you on here jean, I have tied to ease off the card making for a while as I had made so many, and I used the time to declutter some of the cupboards. Just sent about 30 photo albums to the tip. weeded them for the good photos first though but somehow I managed to fill the cupboard up again :-D could be because I did keep quite a few albums, I had about 60 to start with!! Pre digital. I still have all my dad's as well, shall get rid of those soon I think, don't know half the people in them.

Pleased to hear that you have the suite on order, hope it won't be too long before it arrives.

Congratulations Ann and T, a lovely baby boy to cuddle <3 <3

Can you believe My lap top has been playing silly games, so now I have been waiting to get it sorted, as if by magic it righted itself

Sallie , how good of the consultant to come and see you and your cardmaking ;-) ;-)
it must be comforting when they try and put your mind to rest, I am sure Alun will be fine so will you, dear friend, I hope Jennie isnt suffering too much, sending her love and prayers.....

Mo, thank you for your prayers and thoughts, it has been a rollercoaster ride for some time now, but somewhat easier as the days go by....

Sylvia, hope you and your oh are ok, have you any trips on the horizon?

Huia, what a star you are , so good to hear that you are feeling better, take care though :-) :-) :-)

I wonder how Marie is, I hope she and her family are o.k.

I have been making many many cards too many in fact , once I start I cant stop, so I will have to get rid of some via the hospice shops I think... or I should say J will have to take them for me, still struggling with the walking and lack of confidence,
but slowly getting there.....Still unable to make the pics smaller, D has been unwell so we havent seen much of her lately,.... btw we managed to buy a suite just waiting fo a phone call to say its ready......looking forward to that....

so I will get back soon take care everyone , love Jean xxx

Sallie, I hope that your mind is a little more settled about Alun's op. As the consultant says he will be fine, it sounds as if he will be in safe hands.

good of your psychiatrist to call in to see you, not often that happens I bet. Good that he showed an interest in your cards, he should because you make lovely cards.

Thank you for your good wishes re Adam's arrival, can't wait to give him a cuddle. he is gorgeous and just like his dad at that age.

Great news about the birth of your 2nd great-grandson. Congratulations to all the family.

Alun saw the Consultant at 9.00 this morning. He was very nice and told us that he had done all his medical training and also cardiology in Cardiff University Hospital. He explained to Alun that because he sometimes get a bit breathless going up stairs or steps that the mitral valve may have become a bit more floppy and that he may not be able to repair it, so will have to replace the valve, but Alun isn't bothered about that at all, as long he will be better for it.

He was very ordinary and down to earth, and when I shed a few tears, he said to me, to be brave because Alun will be fine.

I mentioned that he had done Margaret's operation yesterday, he asked if I was Sallie, so I nodded, and he told me that Margaret had asked him if he would tell me that she was alright so he passed her message on and then I asked if he would pass on my love to her . Has we walked out of his consulting room , he suggested that I go and visit her while she;s there.

Anway, he has told Alun that he would have his operation towards the end of Aptil. So at least we now have a rough idea when he will have it. Alun will be in ICU for the first two days, and the on the ward for five days before coming home. He won't be able to drive for six weeks or lift anything.

Yesterday my CPN called has she said she would, but because she was concerned about how I have been over the last week, she mentioned it to the Psychiatrist, so as he was up the hospital at the time, he decided to come down with her.He had a good look at my card making stash and some of the cards I have been making over a couple of days, he was very interested in them. It was a bit of a shock seeing him arrive on the doorstep. They were here for about and hour.

Tomorrow I go to see Gina ( psychologist ) again. Oh! I lead a very exciting lifelolol!!

Jennie has had problems with her ears over the last week or two, we thought she might have a problem with ear wax, but she has been back to see the doctor today because they are still bothering her, anyway it turns out that she has fungus in her ears, the doctor thinks that it may be from the antibiotic she had a couple of weeks ago. She has a low immune system, because of the medication she has to inject herself in the leg with for her Crohn's disease.

I hope you are all okay, will speak to you all again tomorrow.

Love and take care. Sallie.xxx <3 <3

Many congratulations Ann, on the birth of Adam William, 7lb 15oz is a great weight. I hope that mummy and baby are both doing well.

Sallie, I hope Margarets operation went well, and that Alun's appointment went well today.

Oh what a beautiful day today, when we woke up this morning there was a very heavy frost on the ground, but as soon as that cleared, the sun came out and it has been glorious.

Sending love and hugs to our Jean, <3 <3 <3

The Internet went down early on so we went off to Tesco for the weeks shop, had a coffee. Walking round the shop phone rang.

GREAT GRANDSON number two had arrived (elective C Section was for Monday?) Well Bex went into labour). Adam William Anthony was born safely at 10.34am today. So far don't know any details so don't know if he was born naturally or by C Section or his weight but so far we are all smiling.

edit: Just heard he weighed 7lb15oz and was born by caesarean. :-)

Thank goodness you didn't have your hearing aids in at the funeraHuia.
Roly's aids keep playing him up, so next Wednesday he has to go and get them re-tubed, but he is sure he is losing more hearing than normal. He has the sound up so loud on the t.v that it deafens me, and my hearing is not what it could be.
Did you put the photo of the inconsiderate car driver on line ?

Sallie, I shall be thinking of your friend Margaret tomorrow, and also Alun on Thursday when he sees the specialist.
Let us know how the meeting goes please love, and if it eases your mind, knowing how it's going to be done should ease your mind a little.

Please good lord help our friend Jean feel better soon, and give her the strength the overcome whatever ails her.
We love and miss you Jean, get well soon darling girl.

I have been such a good girl today, I dared to go out and tackle some of the garden. Our wheelie bin is now full of the dreaded weeds, I couldn't believe how many of the little blighters had grown. I also did a lot of cutting back, there is still some work needing doing, but at least I have made a start.
Thank goodness it has stopped blowing a gale, and the rain held of for me to get outside for a while.

Take care girls hugs to all, Mo xxx

Sallie, I am so glad that you have Margaret to help reassure you. While the rest of us try to, there is nothing like somebody who is experiencing it herself.

I went to a funeral today. The music played as the coffin was brought in was far too loud, I had to put my fingers in my ears, and I hadnt even put my hearing aids in (somebody else also said it was too loud. I put my aids in for the rest of the service as there was no more music, but although the speakers were using a mic. I could hear only the occasional word. But at least I was able to say hello afterwards to some locals that I havent seen for a while, even if I couldnt hear what they were saying.

Hi Jean, thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers, they mean a lot to me.
I hope that you will feel better soon, and that whatever it is that's causing you problems, at the moment is nothing too bad to worry about. I will be thinking about you, and will hope and pray that you will soon feel a lot better.

Mo, Margaret is having her heart operation on Wednesday and Alun is seeing the same Consultant Cardiac Surgeon on Thursday, to tell him what they need to do and the procedure they will use. And hopefully they will give him a rough idea when he will have the operation.

I rang Margaret earlier on just to let her know that I will be thinking about her and to wish her lots of best wishes. She sounded very positive and told me all about the pre-op examination, so that has made me feel a little better.

As you said, it's a big thing to us, but these surgeons do thousands of operations a year. It is a daily routine to them. Margaret was saying that at the end of November, the surgeon told her that he had done open heart surgery on a pregnant lady and that she was fine.

Of course, I have probably told you all earlier, that like me Margaret suffers with mental health problems too. So hearing Margaret being so positive, has been reassuring for me.

Ann, thank you for all your kind words and best wishes, they really do help me. Don't forget I am always here for you and all our other friends on here too. It is always nice to know that we all care about each other.

Huia, hope that all is well with you, and are managing and coping well at the Hospice shop.

Take care everyone.

Love and best wishes to you all. Sallie. xxx <3 <3 <3 <3

Oh Sallie, how lovely to hear that Margaret is able to support you, and understand your worries.
As she suggested, go with Alun, just to put your mind to rest, in knowing that the surgeon knows his job well, and lets face it, even though it's our first time experiencing it, he has done it thousands of times.
I assume that Alun's operation will be next Wednesday, or is it this Wednesday ?
He will be fine love, and when he wakes up, and sees you there, will be overjoyed at your strength.

Well from a very wet windy Kent, I shall say cheerio for now. Hugs Mo xxx

Hi to all my good friends on here.

Thank you all so much for your kind words, best wishes, reassurances and love. it is very much appreciated. It's nice to know that I have friends on here that I can rely on for support.

One of my friends that I have made over the time we have been going to the hospital each Tuesday, is also having a heart operation on Wednesday at the same hospital and by the same Consultant Cardiac Surgeon as Alun. She said he is a lovely man, so she told me to go in with Alun , because I will feel a little bit better about the operation, as he is very reassuring and makes you feel as though it is just a common everyday operation.......that heart operations are not like they were years ago , because of all the high tec tests they do before the operation now, they know exactly what needs to be done before having the operation.
.

So Margaret will have had hers done the day before, but will probably still be in ICU, as they have to stay there for the first 24 hours. As you all probably know.

I will chat to you all again tomorrow. Hope the weather will be better than it is now, at the moment it is raining heavily. Seems the norm for all of Britain most days now though.

Still no word from Jean, I hope that everything is okay with her. If you are looking in Jean, we are all thinking about you and sending lots of love and hugs.

Take care everyone.

Love and Best wishes. Sallie.xxx <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

LOL Huia, you are a gal, well done love on taking the photographic evidence. Some people have no consideration for others, and it sounds like you found one moron on your trip.
I would be tempted to let everyone know about this idiots lack of consideration for others, perhaps then he may think before he acts.

Oh Ann, I do hope the hospital make their minds up, re your grandaughter in law's op soon. She must be so worried, and that wont help her B.P will it.
Sorry to hear that the blasted Basal cells could be back, what a darned nuisance, especially as you were cleared not that long ago. Lets hope they get their fingers out, and send your appointment through soon.

Well today we have not moved out of the house, for fear of being blown away. I keep looking out in the garden, to ensure that the fences have not been blown away.
Next door had new fitted wardrobes done during the week, and the old doors are still in their garden, but are being blown all around the place. I do hope they don't take of and land through our patio doors. I will not be amused if they do. Neither of them do any home decorating themselves, and as for clearing things away, well what can I say, it's like Steptoe's yard out there. LOL

I must go and start preparing dinner now, so I will say bye for now, take care Mo xxx

Good to know your Granddaughter was ok Huia.

There are some drivers about that make you wonder how many brain cells they have. Was this a young or older man? How inconsiderate though. I would post it on both your suggestions. did that mean you were unable to get up to the dam?

Huia

Huia Report 6 Feb 2016 06:22

Ann, my granddaughter had a caesarean for her first baby and she was supposed to have one for the second baby but he decided otherwise. But it turned out fine. She got a hernia the first time, and the hospital wont repair it for some reason.

I had a nice drive around this afternoon, but it was spoiled by some idiots who had decided to park on half the roadway up to one of the dams to have a picnic. When I asked why they were parked there (it was actually just one of the half dozen cars but it was blocking half the road) he said there was no yellow line at the edge so he could park there! I suggested his mother must have been bitten by an early version of the Zika mosquito. I took a photo of the group, and as his number plate was not showing (station wagon with the back door open) I carefully added one, MORON. I now have to decide whether to put it on FB or send it to the NZHerald or some such.
