Hi Caz, nice to see you posting but sorry to hear that you haven't been too good with the usual problem. Don't worry about it if you can't send Christmas cards, I'm sure that everyone you send them to will fully understand why.
It's freezing here too, we went out this evening for a few things and I was glad to get home....never use to mind the winter but as I've got older I don't like it at all and just want to stay in in the warm.
I hope we don't have any snow, Alun's sister and brother-in-law are up in their place in Scotland and I think they are planning to go home to Ilkley sometime over the weekend.
I will pm you if and when I can send one ...I'm beginning to think that I won't be able to again.lol!!
Take care and stay warm.
Speak to you soon.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi Sally and girls, not been on for a while because of the usual, it's been terrible. I haven't even bought/made my christmas cards yet, I'm going to have to get a move on with them or I will miss christmas altogether. It's been freezing cold last few days, glad we have good central heating, it's been given out that we could have some snow over the weekend and there were a few flakes coming down this morning, winter is here. Mo thanks for your christmas card it came this morning.
Love Caz xx

Hi Ann, hope you and T have a great weekend in Bristol. Is it Christmas shopping on Sunday and Monday morning, or is it all done? Hope you get some good weather for this time of the year. Enjoy and take care!
I've had a busy day writing out quite a few Christmas cards, but still have a lot more to do.I hope to finish them all over the weekend.lol!! Alun has a model railway show on Sunday so I will be on my own for the day.
Mo, I don't like Lee Evans very much either, although Jennie, Michael and Richard and their friends all think he's good. They went to see him in Nottingham a while back which I thought was a waste of money. It must be my age!!
Linda, hope you and your family are nearly finished sorting out your mum's house, it's such a tedious job. Pleased that you enjoyed your day out at Marlborough. I've only ever been through there in the car but never stopped there.
Hope all the rest of our friends on here are all alright. It's been very quiet again over the last two days. I expect everyone is busy.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Good evening everyone Well time is going far too fast. But I have written my Christmas cards now. I have a couple of cross stitch ones to finish then that will be one job done. I have a few gifts bought but others still to sort !! What to get being the biggest problem. Like Mo when I asked my hubby what he would like, I usually get the answer nothing, rather difficult as it is his birthday on 22nd Dec too. But he really doesn't need much. We went to Marlborough this morning. It was a lovely day and they have a street market today so a nice day to go. Mind there were a lot of children there. Must have had a lot of schools closed.
I'll try to get back soon

Hello girls.
I have had 3 afternoons working in the hospice shop. On Tuesday the manager decided to have a half price sale on all clothes as we had so much. One young woman bought a wedding dress which we have had there for about a year priced at $60, so she got it for $30. Not sure how much that is in English pounds, maybe about 15. What a bargain. Presumably it had been worn only once. Wednesday (yesterday) it was half price on clothes and books. I didnt have a helper behind the counter so was kept busy.
I must remember to get my Christmas Tree out to take to the hospice shop. I dont think I put it up last year.
Today I am going to visit Phil as it is about a week since I last went. I have been so busy.
Huia.

Hi Sallie,Ann , Sylvia and Huia, and all our other friends when they look in. Sallie, Lee Evans was up at Blue Water for a promotional afternnoon last week. I dont know if he has released a new dvd or cd or a book even, but my daughters boyfriends daughter,(confusing I know) went up there to get his autograph. I am not a fan of his, I have to admit, and cant understand why a 14 year old would want his autograph.
I got the christmas decorations out of the shed today. The tree is up, and waiting to be decorated. But I wont be putting many other things up this year, they are nothing but dust collectors anyway. Cor dont I sound like mrs scrooge ( bah humbug ). It took me ages to separate the branches of the flamin tree. When I packed it away last time, I must have scrunched it into the box, and boy oh boy, did it need some sorting out. lol :-(
The presents for the dinner table are now bought and wrapped. I just dont know what to get Roly. When I asked him what he wanted, I got a negative response. Perhaps he's not buying me one this year, boo hoo.
Hope to speak to you tomorrow. Love to all. Mo xxx

Ann just deleted one of the posts, I was in a bit of a rush so didn't realise that it had posted twice.
Thanks for letting me know how to go about contacting Phil, I think it might be best if I put it on the suggestions board so that I know he will see it.
Everyone else must have gone Christmas shopping again today Ann.
It was absolutely crowded in the Asda we go to, Lee Evans was there signing his new book. Alun said there were a couple of drivers arguing over a parking space.lol!! We didn't know Lee Evans was there so couldn't understand why the car park was so crowded when we arrived there, as it's usually pretty quiet on a Wednesday.
Love, Sallie.xxx

So fast Sallie it has put up your post twice :-D I did think about calling in to the shop but we were not wanting to hang around because of the protest march that was due.
If you go to the help button at the top you will find support. Send a message on that. If you don't get anywhere with that put a message on the suggestions board with the title 'A question for Phil' then write out the problem you are having.

Ann, when I've tried to send a pm, nothing at all happens, no error message or anything else, it just stays as it is.
I did try to get in touch with Estelle and also Phil, but for some reason there didn't seem anywhere that I could compose a message on. Alun looked at it with me so I know it wasn't just me not being able to work things out.lol!! He thinks that GR need to sort their message site out so that it is easier for the majority of people to understand how it works.
It's typical, after you've been into town that you get the phone call to tell you the ring is ready. It's a shame you didn't call in on the off chance to see if it was ready, but then it probably wouldn't have been.lolol!!
Sylvia, glad to hear that you are and OH are both OK and that you haven't had any problems with gales that you are having. Take care and stay safe.
Well it's Wednesday again, shopping day.....it seems to come round quicker each week. It must be the age think, the older we get the quicker the time goes by.
Speak to you all later on.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie,xxx

Sallie, have you contacted gR about not being able to send messages? When you say you can't send them what is happening? Do you click on a name and get the error message? Sometimes I get that 2 or 3 times which is annoying but if I persevere it goes eventually.
Well we did go into town this morning and took some christmas ornament s to the charity shop. Lots of people carrying placards and in Wetherspoons at 12, the march started at 1pm. We had an early meal in Wetherspoons, had a breakfast at 11.45 then came straight home afterwards so as not to get caught up in anything. Annoying though, when we got home there was a message on the answer phone to say a ring I had taken in to be made larger was ready for collection (in town).

Hello Girls,
Gosh it's five days since I posted on here, I don't know where the time has gone. I've sorted out most of the Christmas cards and presents, so just got a few more to do now. We took all the Christmas presents and cards up to Alun's sister's on Saturday so don't have to worry about them now.
Apart from the weather we had a lovely day with Lynda and some of the family on Saturday. We had lunch at an Italian restaurant in Ilkley, it was very good but expensive.
Alun's brother-in-law seems to have deteriorated since we last seen him in August and he's also lost weight. It's so sad to see him as he is now, I've shed a few tears for him since Saturday even though I know it won't change anything.
Ann sorry to hear about the death of your friend, as you say, the trouble with getting older, all or most of our friends and of course any brothers, siters and cousins we have are getting older too.
Caz, lovely to hear from you, but sorry that you haven't been feeling very well lately. I still can't send a pm to anyone, I'm just fed up of the new message centre.
Mo, you'll really love the excitement of seeing Lilly ' opening ' her pressies on Christmas morning. It's nice that your son wants you and Roly to be there too. But make sure that you don't end up cooking the dinner.lol!!
Huia you are a busy bee. Where on earth do you get the energy from?
How are things with Phil these days. Hope he was awake when you have last visited him.
Linda, hope your mum has settled down in the care home. I don't envy you having to clear out your mum's house. It was a job that none of our family were keen to do after the deaths of our parents and also two of our uncles.....but of course it had to be done.
Well girls it's late now so will say goodnight and will speak to you all tomorrow.
Hope all our other friends on this thread are OK.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Ah there is life in the thread after all. Caz, sorry you just said you had not been well I didn't realise it was your back, I realise that won't get better but I hope they can find something else to help dull the pain, it must be so wearing. I had not realised that Jean's pc had actually gone wrong, i thought that she was not allowed to use it until her daughter had sorted out how Pay pal had been hacked. Hope she gets it fixed soon then as it is used for her daughter's work I believe.
Mo, you will enjoy watching baby Lily opening her presents. Miracle baby if she does but you will enjoy the excitement of her parents. And make sure that you do not get lumbered with the cooking at Christmas. I know the good intentions are there but..... :-D
I don't know about the buses but I don't think they are affected at all. If they were we definitely wouldn't go to town as that is how we get there.

Hello girls, I am still around, looking in each day, but I am buzzing around like a blue-tailed fly so havent posted. I have worked in the hospice shop the last 2 afternoons and am in it again this afternoon. The first one of these was my regular turn, the other 2 were relieving for other people.
I have recieved 3 Christmas cards from overseas, but havent got around to sending any yet. They may be late this year!
Better get on with sorting out what I want to take to town this afternoon.
Huia.

Well hello girls, Sorry to have been missing for a couple of days, but here I am, all bright and chirpy. Despite this miserable weather, I am looking forwards to christmas with the grandchildren. Our son wanted us to go to him for dinner, but he has not got the table room to sit seven of us, so they are going to come here to us. The only stipulation he has made is that he does the cooking. He also wants us to go to their house early, so that we can see baby Lilly opening her presents. For goodness sake she is only ten months old, and this first christmas is not going to mean a lot to her, bless her, but we are going to go anyway, to get into the christmas spirit.
Caz, I am sorry you are going through a bad patch again. Increasing the morphine may help short term, but what happens when you become immune to it again. Is there nothing else on the market they can give you to help with the pain. I hate to hear you are feeling so poorly love.
Ann, this time of year, we all seem to hear of the death of some of our good friends, but you have been very unlucky this year haven't you. Lets pray that next year is better for all of us. Do you know if the strike is going to affect the buses running properly. If there are no buses, you will probably be safe going into town, thats if the businesses are able to open if staff can get to work of course. I know a lot of people do still rely on public transport to get to work.
I wonder if Sallie is o.k, as I don't remember her posting either, and thats most unlike her.
I hope our Jean is getting over the terrible shock, and that the rotten swine has been apprehended, for taking her money out of her account.
Must go now girls, take care of yourselves. Love to all, Mo xxx

Hi Ann, Jeans computer went wrong and is being sorted now. My back will never get better and the morphine I'm on doesn't help much now so I will have to have a word with my Mcmillans nurse about upping the dose. Theres got to be something better in life than what I have, I would love to go out walking again, even if it is only round the village to my sisters.

Hi Ann and everyone else, I haven't been on because I've not been too good. I didn't ring Jean for the same reason but I've told myself I must ring her tomorrow and make sure she is ok. I would be lost without my computer, it's my route to the outside world, I hope she has hers up and running, but when I think of it she would be on here if she had, silly girl.
