Mo, I hope that all goes well for Roly tomorrow and that they won't keep him hanging about before the next scan he has to have. As you say, ' it never rains but it pours '. Please pass on my best wishes to Roly.
Sorry that your team lost last night, but pleased to hear that you and your friend Eve won the pairs.
It's very cold here today too, so will have to dig out some of my warm jumpers.
Yes Mo I had to see the doctor about the problems, as years ago when Jennie was three I had a bad chest infection with pleurisy which turned into pneumonia, so I don't want that again. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the antibiotics will clear the infection.
Michael had two teeth out yesterday, he had been in agony all over the weekend, so he had to have the day off. He's gone to work today but Jennie says that his face is still aching....I just hope that he covers his mouth when he's outside as he doesn't want the cold to get into his mouth and cause him more problems.
Caz, thanks for letting us know that about Jean's computer problems. When we don't see one of our friends for a while we start to wonder if everything is OK with them.
I'm sorry I still can't send any pm's, but as soon as I can, I will send you one.
Well, girls I'll speak to you tomorrow.
Love and best wishes to you all. Sallie.xxx

Hi girls, I have come on to say that Jean is having trouble with her computer, we have to 'talk' on e-mail every day, I will be glad when it's fixed. Sylvia I am glad your arm is feeling better, the stiffness will go in time but mine seemed to take forever before I could lift my arm up, and I only had a wide excision. We haven't heard from Marie for a while hope you are ok Marie if you look in. Sally, Mo and Ann thank you for your cards, I really must get a move on and get mine done. Tea is ready so better go.
Hope you are all well

Sorry to report that we lost the team game 4-2, but we won the pairs 3-0 girls, so no disaster really. My friend Eve and I, were told last night that three members of the Monday darts team will not be playing next year, so it looks like the two of us will be hopefully be going to a new team, yippeeeee. I was approached by the opposition last night, to play for them next season, so I will wait and see.
Yes Sallie, it's tomorrow evening that Roly has to have his scan. But the latest news is, that the doctor now thinks it could be his postrate, and not stones after all, so he has to get another kind of scan done as well. They discovered blood in the last urine sample that he did, but it is not visible to the eye, so he would have been unaware that he was passing it. Oh boy, it never rains but it pours down on us, doesn't it. The doctor has told him that the new appointment should be done within two weeks, and if it's not, he has to phone her and she will chase it up. Thanks goodness you went and saw the doctor Sallie, and got the ant-biotics to clear the chest infection up. You definately dont want full blown pleurasy (sp) just before christmas.
Thanks for letting us know that our Jean is o.k Ann. She's such a worry to me bless her, and I luvs her to bits.
Many thanks for the lovely cards Jean and Linda, they arrived in todays post. We have received quite a lot already, and I think folks had the same idea as myself, and that is to get them away as quickly as possible, in case they get lost in the post.
It has been very very cold here today, I just hope and pray we don't get any of the white stuff, yuk. I am going out to a christmas meal on Friday night, and am hoping to wear a dress with shoe string straps, but if it's thick with snow, I shall be wearing my thermals, and my fur lined boots instead of sandals. lol
Well my friends, I will speak to you tomorrow. Take good care of yourselves. Love and best wishes Mo xxx

Hello Girls,
It's very quiet on here. Where are you all? Mind you it is a busy time of year a lot of people.
Mo, how did your darts match go last night? Hope your team did well .
Is it tomorrow the 7th that Roly has to go for his kidney scan...or have I got it wrong? If so, hope it all goes well for him.
Ann, I have a few more cards for the blog, if you would like them and also will have to take some photos of a few more.
I haven't made any cards or done much of anything at all over the last few days as I haven't felt too good. Anyway, I've seen the doctor and I have a chest infection and also a bit of pleurisy...he's given me a five day course of double strength antibiotics, so I hope that they will sort it out.
Jean, if you are looking in, I hope that you and the family are all alright. It seems a while since we heard from you.
Marie, also hope that all is well with you and your family too.
Also hope that all our other friends on here are alright too.
Well I must go and help Alun to sort our dinner out now as he's decided to cook it tonight ( wonders never cease ) so will speak to you all again soon.
Love, Sallie.xxx

I didnt put up my Christmas tree last year and I wont bother this year either. I was going to take it to the Hospice shop to be sold, but I am not sure where it is - either up in the attic or in the 'junk' room buried under a lot of other stuff. I think I will leave it until next year.
I must sort out my receipts today so I can put in the insurance claim for my camera.

Well look at that, my laptop is still working, but will have to take it back soon, but today is far to cold to go up there. It's a good 30 minute drive from home, but I cant be bothered to venture out at the moment.
Sorry for the confusion Ann, I was thinking of Sallies brother in law. My mind is on everything but what it should be just lately. Samantha Womack was interviewed on one of our local t.v stations not long ago, and they showed her singing a tune from the show. I think I would find it hard to adjust to someone singing the songs in the show, having seen the film years ago. It's just not the same is it. I wouldn't be able to see the show of the Sound of Music either, without comparing it to the film. I was taken up to London to see it on the big screen, by my parents when I was younger, and Julie Andrews played her role so well. Thank you for the lovely card Ann.
Sylvia, if it wasn't for the grandchildren, I dont know if I would bother with the decorations either. But the young ones get us in the proper christmas spirit. I am sure you will have a wonderful time with your friends on the island. We are going to our local Golf Club this new years eve, with two of our daughters and their families. We went last year as well, and had a fabulous evening.
Betty, I am sorry to hear of your bad news. God willing the new year will be kinder to us all. Take care my love.
I hope to be able to speak to you all tomorrow. Sallie, I have got darts tonight, so keep your fingers crossed for me please. I wont ask you to cross anything else as it gets mighty uncomfortable, lol ;-)
Bye my friends, Love Mo xxx

Well we are home, had a lovely break, hotel was very good and the weather stayed mostly fine although cold. Had a slight shower while shopping Sunday. South Pacific was OK, Not what we'd call a sparkling show and not one I would want to see again. Samantha Womack was really good as Nellie but I didn't much like the person who played Emille, I didn't warm to him as the character and didn't hink his voice was right for the part - too deep and gravelly. The trouble is it was a great film and the stage show seemed to lack the scenery to make it atmospheric.
Shopping in Bristol was very good and this morning we went to the Mall at cribbs Causeway with the bif M&S so that was good too.
Mo I am confused as to the message about my BiL as I don't have one.

Hi all xx
things are chugging along here.
We are going away for Christmas, to our friends on the Island ................. so I don't have any preparations to do.
We do not put up any decorations when we go away .................. we would normally put them up around the 20th December, and then take them down on 12th Night (January 6). But as we're away from Dec 22 to 27, there doesn't seem any point!
It's been several years since we have actually put up any.
So far we have not made any arrangements for New Year .... but we have spent it just the 2 of us before .............. OH has cooked a nice meal, and we have had a lovely time. We'll probably do the same thing thing this year.
I'm well on the way to recovery ................. just got a little tweaking to do with some stiffness under my arm.

Hi Linda, lovely to hear from you. So pleased that your mum is settling into the Care Home OK and that there are a couple of nice ladies living there that she is able to have a chat with.
We stripped the wallpaper off our landing and stairs several weeks ago and that's as far as we have got. We were hoping to get it done before Christmas but with both me and Alun having very bad colds a couple of weeks ago we just haven't felt like doing it. So I don't think that it will be done before Christmas, unfortunately.
The pain from the pleurisy is going slowly so hopefully I won't need to visit the doctor. I have suffered from it in the past a couple of times, once when I had pneumonia, so I have to watch it carefully.
Sounds as though you had a lovely day out at Windsor....I love going there when we go to visit Richard.
Good luck with all the preparations for your daughters wedding. Are you having any of your family for Christmas? We are having just Jennie and Michael as Richard is only off on Christmas Day so won't be able to come up.
Mo and Joyce thank you both for your Christmas cards.... sorry I forgot to mention them earlier on.
Love to everyone. Sallie.xxx

Hi Everyone, i am so very sorry that i have not gotten back to thank everyone that contribated (sp) to the beautifull flowers and to thank Sallie for her Christmas card. My daughters S-I-L was admitted to hospital about a fortnight ago and was on life support for 10 days when she lost the fight for life, the family donated her organs to five people. Last Subday one of my brothers was admitted to the cardiac unit, blood tests, m.r.i. and x-rays have come back clear, but he is not speaking or seems interested in anything, just lying in bed. Niece same day had a lump removed from ovary, she is 28 years old to-day and still in hospital. She had a heart attack last year. So again my apoligizes for not answering but very much appericate your thoughts especially when money is so tight and it so near Christmas time. P.S. we are having our budget on tuesday. Wish they went after the bankers and their former T.Ds. Big chance though. Talk soon again. Betty.xxxx

hello everyone We are OK here Mum seems to be settling into the residential home and has some of her own things around her to remind her of home, which is nice. I spoke to a couple of the ladies and they seemed pleasant and liked the home for their own needs. I have been busy preparing for a small wedding reception at home for our eldest daughter and also for Christmas too. So quite busy. We helped our youngest over the last couple of weeks to gloss paint her hall, doors windows skirting etc, but also her Kitchen , bathroom and lounge doors inside too. Must be mad though she did need the help and was very greatful. So we decided to employ a decorator to do our lounge next week just before the wedding. I hope he gets it finished and doesn't hit any snags. !!! Today we have been into Windsor with my youngest brother and his family, we had a Tapas Christmas meal, very nice and good service most enjoyable. Then a good walk round. I got another Christmas gift so that was helpful. Then we went back to their house to chat. A really nice afternoon/evening. Mo I hope your computer is OK and Sallie I hope you are OK too. Get to the Dr before you get too poorly as you want to be well over Christmas. Have a good week everyone

Hi Mo, sorry to hear that your lappy is playing up again, let's hope that it will be OK from now on.
I'm feeling better today apart from another cold and I think I might have a touch of pleurisy, so will just have to see how it goes over the next couple of days.
Jennie and I went along to the Model Railway Club's mini show this afternoon, although it was more of an open day to try and get some new members than a show. I think they spoke to a few people that are interested in joining. Although Michael is no longer a member he always helps them out if the club have something special on
I went back to Jennie's for a while afterwards, until Alun picked me up after they had finished.
Well I have managed to get a good bit organised with all the Christmas cards and presents, now only have the last couple of presents to get for the ones that I haven't a clue on what to get for them. Richard is one of them, my neice and Gracie are the others.
It's very cold here today, I'm just glad to be at home in the warm.
Mo, Ann I'm sure doesn't get home until tomorrow afternoon, they went to Bristol yesterday for two days. I hope they are having agood weekend and that the weather is a bit warmer for them there than it is here.
Huia, it seems as though no matter where we live there is always some roadworks or other going on to cause delays. Still I suppose the roads have to be maintained and repaired for everyon'e safety.
Jean, Caz, Sylvia, Linda and Joyce if you are looking in I hope you are all okay.
I'll speak to you all tomorrow.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hello everyone, Sorry to have been on the missing list since the 30th of November, but I have been having big problems again with this blessed laptop. If I go missing again, it will be because this flippin things has gone to see the doctor to get mended. We pay enough insurance each month for it, like private medical insurance, that I dont see why it and myself should suffer for much longer. ;-)
Caz and Sallie, I am sorry to hear that you have both been suffering again. There is enough pressure with Christmas sneaking up on us so fast, that other ailments should now give us a break. Keep trying to smile my friends.
Ann, I hope you have had an enjoyable weekend, and have come home refreshed ready for the onslaught of christmas. How was your brother in law. I do hope he wasn't to confused whilst you and T were there.
Well, the presents are all bought, the decorations are up, the excitement is growing in the grandchildren, the parents are now sweating and swearing, and hoping that the pennies stretch to what they have left to buy. We thought it was bad when our children were small, trying to buy suitable presents for them, but these days the children expect so much from their parents, and more fool the parents, they put themselves in debt till the following christmas, just to keep the children happy.
Huia, I hope you got all your cards and envelopes made, without any interuptions. Will you be visiting Phil on christmas day, and are they holding a party for the residents again this year, where Phil is residing.
I must go now girls, please take good care of yourselves. Love and best wishes to one and all. Mo xxx

Hello everybody.
I was going to visit my sister over on the other side of Auckland Harbour today but there is work being done on the Newmarket viaduct this side of the harbour, and the advice is to stay away from it until midday today. I dont fancy taking a detour through the city to try to find the harbour bridge, so I have postponed my visit. I will make my Christmas cards and envelopes instead.

Good morning to whoever is looking in. Quite a nice morning here for early December, dry with a nice blue sky.
I'm not feeling too good at the moment got another cold and because of a few minor family probs during the last I'm afraid 'my old black dog ' has returned. Never mind I've beaten it a few times and I will again.
I have a few things to keep me occupied over the weekend...I shall be glad when all the Christmas cards are done, I didn't realise I have so many to send. I also have to write a letter to my cousin in Bromley to put in with her card.... writing letters isn't one of my favourite chores.lol!!
Mo haven't seen you about for a couple of days, I hope all is well with both you and Roly.
Did you have a darts match on Thursday? If so. hope you and your team won.
Well I'd better get on with some of the jobs I have to do, so will look in again later today.
