AnninGlos Report 3 Mar 2012 14:58

Mo, I would think that sensibly they were checking for ovarian and uterine problems. When they have the all clear on that as I hope they do, they will check the bowel area. Much better for them to be thorough but I wonder why they couldn't check it all at once.

Have a lovely meal this evening..

Sally, yes I saw that you replied re Turley. I imagine that way back it would have been a lovely area it is so far out in the country. Actually it is a very desirable area to live now. Well it was, but now about half a mile down the road they are building a huge gas plant, despite the many and long protests against it.

Huia, hope the storm died down, very windy here today and we went down to the docks area so it was even worse down there but it is sunny and quite warm and I have just made up 5 hanging baskets to put in the greenhouse.

Mo in Kent Report 3 Mar 2012 14:04

Well my friends, what a palaver.
I went for the scan, and when I got into the room, the first question I was asked was," do you still have your womb and ovaries" erm... yes.
She progressed the scan over the lower abdomen and pelvic area.
I asked her why she was scanning so low down, when the pains and problems were higher up, into the bowel, she replied that the doctor had asked for me to be checked over in this area, and that they would do further investigations later.
Oh boy, one fed up woman walked out from the hospital I can tell you.
It will be nice to know that there are not problems in other areas of my body, but the question still remains, why do I get these pains.

Huia, I hope that you missed the bad weather, and were able to get into Hamilton to see your Gr Grandson.
They grow so quickly, and missing each growth spurt, is upsetting.
Linda will probably agree,if she doesn't see her grandson on a regular basis.
I pity poor Sylvia not being able to see MJ very often, I do love to see our baby Lilly. I dont see our great grandaughter very often, but that is down to her mum being like the elusive pipernel, never at home when we call to visit.
How is your Phil doing?

Sylvia, we dont get mosquito's very often, just blue bottles and normal house fly's.
Roly does love his electronic bat, he's like a kid with a new toy when he gets it out.
During the winter months I hide it away, but as soon as he spots a fly, he goes and finds it. Ooooh such a big kid at heart he is. lol
His cousin had one first, and then he had to have one, huh boys and their toys.

Sallie, dont fret over the mix up over the scan. I am just relieved it was only a scan and not the colonoscopy. More so since I had my visit this morning, who knows they could have stuck the camera down/up the wrong end. I thought I was having one thing done, and had something totally different.
How is Debbie by the way? is she any better. I do hope so.

Cooee Ann,have you anything exciting planned for the weekend.
We are going out tonight for our anniversary meal. It will be nice not to have to cook for a change.lol

Bye for now my friends, love to you all. Mo xxx

Huia Report 3 Mar 2012 02:01

We have screens on all our windows, and one on the back porch. It is just the front door that doesnt have one so if it is left open we do sometimes get flies inside. Also if I leave the door at the top of the stairs down into the basement open. But not too badly plagued with insects, other than the fleas, and spiders that seem to find their way in somehow. Oh, and the occasional centipede, they seem to be able to squeeze through the slimmest of places. It doesnt do them any good being indoors though, they dehydrate.

I was intending to go to Hamilton today to see our gt grandson but there is extremely bad weather over NZ, several houses in Taranaki have lost their roofs. I will go tomorrow as the storm will have passed by then. It has not been too bad here, thank goodness, although there have been high winds in Auckland.

Huia.

Mo in Kent Report 2 Mar 2012 22:27

Good evening girls,
Sallie, it's only an ultrasound scan tomorrow, not a colonoscopy thank goodness.
It may end up that I shall have to have one in the end though.
But thank you girls for your thoughts.

As far as I know, my son seems to be o.k. They had a chinese meal tonight, an eat as much as you like, and he went back six times for some different dishes.
I just hope he chose carefully, and didn't have the fatty foods.
Mind you, you dont often see overly large chinese people do you.

Sylvia, there are no signs of any daffodils in my garden either, but the bluebells are starting to come through lovely. I seem to have twice the amount I had last year. I love them, they are so pretty.
My neighbour has had loads of snow drops, well I think they are snow drops as I can only see them over the fence, and my eyes are not what they once were.

Huia, thank goodness the fleas and insects are now being eliminated. Do they do anything like the flea bonbs, to get rid of flies during the summer months.
We have an electric insectecuter that we use, and also Roly has bought a bat, that zaps flies as they fly past.
I think I need one as well, then it will look like we are having a game of tennis, as we are chasing the darned flies around the house. lol
We look like a right pair of idiots, looking for, and chasing after the blessed things. Ooh I do hate flies in the house.
I think I have OCD where they are concerned, and they must be got rid off, and all surfaces washed down when they are killed.

It's allright Ann, I am not really going doo lally lol How are you and T doing?

Going to go and get ready for my bed now girls, so I will say good night god bless, and have a good day to all the early risers down under.
Love to all. Mo xxx

Mo, if I remember rightly, tomorrow is the day you go for your colonoscopy. Sending you lots of hugs and positive thoughts for tomorrow. Hope all goes well and the results will be good and nothing to worry about. Will be thinking about you.

How is your son? I hope that he is feeling better and that he will be able to get someone to drive the car back to Kent for him.

Hi Mo

The weather has been so strange here that I don't see any sign of daffodils in the garden ......... usually have at least one in flower for March 1st.

AnninGlos Report 1 Mar 2012 21:43

Sallie, today going to and from the craft fair we went through Tirley and on the way home we came back a different way and passed near Forthampton. Tirley is almost just a main road village except that now there are lots of new estates spreading out from the main road, not many old houses or cottages in sight. Forthampton is way out in the country.

AnninGlos Report 1 Mar 2012 21:39

Oh well Huia looks as though you have got rid of all the creepie crawlies at once. Hope they have all gone for good, and the rats too.

Huia

Huia Report 1 Mar 2012 20:41

Well I think the bombs worked. I didnt notice any fleas getting onto my bare feet and legs when I got up this morning. I wandered around for a while just to see if there were any, but it is so cold today that I now have my trousers and socks on (plus t shirt and 2 sweatshirts of course).

I did notice yesterday that there were a couple of dead cockroaches on the back porch. I presume they inhaled the gas and managed to crawl under the back door before dying. I gather the stuff also kills spiders and moths, so I am going to have a lot of bodies to sweep up. I did have another rat to dispose of this morning.

All this wild life is keeping me busy, so I must get on and do other things.

YorkshireCaz Report 1 Mar 2012 19:20

I haven't been on here for a while for obviously reasons, as Joyce said the cast is coming off next week, thank goodness. My ankle still hurts though so I am not sure if it's healing but as Joyce reminded me i have cancer in my bones so maybe that's holding the healing back, I will have an x/ray next week before I see the doctor so it should show up how things are.
I'm bored out of my skull, there's only so much reading I can do and the last time I went out was to the hospital when I broke it, not that there is anywhere I want to go.
I shall go for another cuppa and my tablets now.

LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 1 Mar 2012 11:04

Morning ladies
I hope all those who have been unwell are feeling a little better. And family members struggling with health issues too.

My own family are all well. The baby is doing well, but still a bit jaundiced the hospital said he might remain like it whilst fully breast fed just something that can happen? He is gaining weight though and very content. Our daughter is blooming, she will be a good Mum, I am sure. Always had babies around, being the eldest of three then me childminding for 24 years too.

Weather miserable here very foggy and rain forecast for the weekend. Glad we got some gardening done two days ago.

Hope Huia has gotten rid of all her unwelcome "guests" and that the smoke bomb did no damage and that the computer is OK too. How is Phil? Went to see my MUm last week with lots of pictures of her great grandson, she seemed pleased but a littl quiet. She has been asking my brother when she can go back home, but never mentioned it to me, just saying it is taking a long time to sell the flat. She is in the best care for her but so very hard when they want to look after themselves, and none of the family can look after her 24/7.

Have a great day

Huia Report 29 Feb 2012 22:56

Mo, I think flea eggs can remain dormant until the weather is right for them, so they would probably have been here all winter, but I think the flea bombs are supposed to kill off the eggs too. I dont think the rats are coming inside this summer as I have blocked off the way I think they were coming into the living part of the house. They certainly havent been eating the soap and candles, anyway.

Huia who still hasnt set off the bombs but is going to after covering up the table and kitchen bench. And turning off the computer and fridge.

Mo in Kent Report 29 Feb 2012 22:14

Hello Huia,
My goodness 10 years of marriage, no it's 48 years. But in leap year terms it's only 12 years. Fancy us getting married on February 29th 1964, and my not realising it was a leap year. I blame it on my age, as I was only 17 at the time and very naive lol.
Oh for goodness sake the blasted fleas are back as well as the rats Huia. It must be the rats bringing them back inside again.
Is your cat still not coming into the house? I know it vanished the last time the rats invaded you. Poor puss must be afraid of them, bless it.
I do hope the flea bombs work this time, and eradicate them for you love.
Love to you Mo xxx

Huia Report 29 Feb 2012 20:18

I hope you have had a happy anniversary today, Mo. How many anniversaries is that, 10?

I was going to visit Phil today, but instead I have decided to let off some flea bombs in the house. I have to cover over all dishes and bench surfaces, and switch off all power including the fridge (and of course the computer), set the bombs off and get out for 2 hours then come back and air the house. I will make a lunch to take outside with me. I might take my external hard drive as well, just in case! I am rather nervous about the procedure but I must get rid of these pesky fleas.
