Hello everyone, Ah Jean what a shame that what should have been a lovely outing, turned into chaos for you both. Surely, the people who did the booking, knew that senoirs were joining them, and that being up in the gods, was not a very good idea. It sounds like there were a lot of well known starts in the show, what a pity you were unable to distinguish who was who from that distance. J is a very agile gentleman for his age. And he is very lucky to have you as his wonderful wife. You and the family went to hell and back when J was so unwell, and that's what makes you all so very close. Rest your lickle legs up today, and get your energy back honey.
Well, we have been up to town today, and bought the food we may need for christmas. What doesn't get eaten then, will be eaten in the following days. We decided not to have turkey, so have gone for glazed chicken breast instead. Good old Ice*ands frozen section. Plenty of frozen deserts for the evening, when the children come, they wont want another big meal, they can have rolls and cold meat and pickles, and lots of picky bits.
Love to you all, Mo xxx

Morning ladies, thought I would tell you about my trip to the L***y the theatre was not what I expected, it is huge very high building , it was packed with people mostly seniors, we were allocated seats at the very top of the auditorium, bad choice it was very steep and many of us were troubled with being so High up ,sadly the show wasnt what most folk thought it would be, it was an american theme the first half of the show was quite miss- mash , and as we couldnt see the faces of the cast we had difficulty recognizing them, one of the ladies was Wendy Peters who was Cilla Battersby in Corrie and also a man who was Sallies boyfriend, Claire Sweeny was in also, and Ken Kerchavel of Dallas fame, the second act was much better and the scenery changes were excellent, but most folk were pleased when it was over as usual there was a scamble for the lifts , so J and I decided to try and go down the three flights of stairs , managed it but at a cost my knees are killing me now, but really I just wanted to get outside a quickly as possible, the "gods" are not a good place to be when one suffers from vertigo, also the coach hadnt arrived so we had to stand in the cold, once we got on and set of it was peak time and Manchester is not the place to be... the motorway was jammed solid too we left the show at 4.30 and it was 7.00 when we arrived home, very tired and I was aching all over, my J was fine I realise now how big a miracle we had when he was so ill, it is amazing to see how well he is and at 78 he is a very young one, I am the decrepit one now and I find it deppressing when I cant walk and move about as before, also slightly panicked at crowds, so all in all it was not the best trip out, but we got home safely ....... Huia, and Marie look at your mail , christmas greetings to you and those you love...... love and hugs to everyone else and take care when going out , love and prayers Jean xx

Ann, I had to go out to the bin last night, and couldn't believe my eyes, we had freezing fog. Yuk it was awful. Then this morning, the car was frozen again. I had to take the small hammer out to break the ice on the bird bath, the poor birds need their drink and food these cold days.
Well girls, I hope you are all well, and not suffering from these conditions. Also that Huia and Marie are not suffering from heat stroke, lucky so and so's.
Bye for now my friends, take care if you have to go out. Love Mo xxx

Hello my chilly friends....brrrr aint it cold, my poor feet like blocks of ice. And thats even with socks AND slippers on. Like you Sallie, we had to pop up to town this morning for a few bits and pieces, but crikey, we didn't hang around, it was so nice to get back into the house in the warm again. We have got baby Lilly tomorrow, but I don't somehow think we will be moving from the house. If we feel the cold, how do poor little mites feel, sitting in pushchairs and not moving around at all. At least our little one, has got warm boots and her cosy toes to keep her legs and feet warm, but I still wont be taking her out.
Ann, please tell me that T has not been out on the golf course today. Last Friday, my friends son, went out in the rain for a round of golf, now thats sheer madness. I cant even understand how people can go and watch football in a heavy downpour can you.
Jean, I hope you enjoy seeing " White Christmas". It should be nice and warm in the theatre, and just think you can enjoy an ice cream or popcorn whilst there. If you take your teeth out you can gum the popcorn to death LOL but just remember to spit the the husks out, but not down the neck of the person sitting in front of you. Have fun sweetheart, give my love to J and D wont you please.xxx
Bye for now my lovelies, love and hugs Mo xxx

Hi girls,
Wishing you and your family A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A EVERY HAPPY NEW YEAR to Sylvia. Have a safe journey and enjoy your Christmas with your family.
Marie, I hope that Barbara is feeling a lot better by now and that Kathleen is alright now and that she doesn't suffer any more setbacks for a very long time.
Wishing you and your family A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR. Hope that you will have a safe journey and that you will have a lovely time with your son and his family.
Mp, pleased that you enjoyed the Christmas meal on Friday......shame about the disco being too loud, I bet you couldn't even hear yourself think. With it being too loud it spoils what would be a great night out.
Jean, I can't remember boiling the ingredients for the Belgium Loaf, as it's such a long time since I made it. I know someone gave me a recipe for a boiled fruit cake, but feel sure it wasn't the Belgium Loaf.
Thank you for your lovely card, it arrived this morning. I have a few more cards to post, they are already written,so will post them in the morning.
Huia, hope you are alright, it seems a while since I last ' spoke' to you.
Are you going anywhere for Christmas or are you at home? Hope things aren't too bad with Phil at the moment.
We had a nice time at the Abergavenny meet on Saturday, lovelly food and great company.
It was lovely to meet more of the GR members......it's nice to be able to put a face to them when chatting on the threads.
Well I must go now got a few things to do, so will speak to you all soon.
Take care.
Love, Sallie.xxx

A very Merry Christmas, and a prosperous New Year Sylvia. Have a safe journey, and enjoy yourselves with the family. Speak to you when you get back love.
Hi the Marie, I will p.m my address to you in a minute love. I do hope Barbara is feeling a little better now, and that Kathleen doesn't have another set back this side of Christmas.
Like you, I have another birthday within the family before christmas. My grandaughter will be 20 on the 23rd of December, and she will become a mother in February.
Does your son Michael live very far from you. I bet you will have a wonderful christmas. Will you have a BBQ or a traditional xmas dinner? My cousin over there, always have a BBQ, as she says it's far to hot to cook a full meal inside the house. She was telling me how hot it had been over there, when she rang me last week. And was hoping for rain last Wednesday, as it was very dry everwhere.
Well girls, the meal last Friday was lovely. Traditional xmas fare. But the evening was spoilt by having a disco, rather than live music. By eleven p.m, most of us had gone home, as we couldn't stand the racket. The darts team have already booked for next year, but it's for a date when there will be a band playing, and we can get up and dance the night away, rather than be deafened. lol
Take care girls, love to you all. Mo xxx

Hello to all my friends on Genes Reunited. I have read the last 5 pages, you are all so busy with Xmas cards and presents, I am still not finished with Birthdays for the year the last one on the 19th Dec., I am now only able to buy for the younger Grandchildren, it is just to costly to buy for all the family.
I will be visiting my Son Michael in Castlemain ,Victoria for Xmas, I am looking forward to seeing him and also the grandchildren. I have written a few cards, but like the last few years I cant muster the enthusiasm for Xmas not since the break up of the family, it just makes me feel sad.
I received a phone call at 3 am on Thursday morning my daughter was in agony I rushed over to her home she was on the floor and was in so much pain the Ambulance arrived and they took her to hospital she was admitted and many tests done they ruled out gall bladder but she did have a urinary tract infection, they gave her antibiotics by injection and through the drip she has been with me. Kathleen has been looking after Emily and Abigail their father arrived down this morning and will have them for the weekend.
Barbara has gone home to rest she is very tired and sore, she should be well by Monday I hope ,as she is a day care mother and she needs the money, when she has to cancel she does not get paid.
Kathleen had a setback a week ago she had a seizure the 1st. in a long while, she thinks that it was because she was very tired.
Our weather has been very nice lately but we need rain as the wind had dried all the lawns and we have had to use a lot of water to keep the garden going.
Mo I received your card thank you very much, how ever you did not give me your address, could you send it to me , Please. I must close as I am very hungry and i have not eaten since breakfast.
I wish you all the best and hope you all have a wonderful Xmas and Health and Happiness for the year to come.
<3 <3 <3 Love Marie <3 :-D

Hello my lovelies. It's great to come on here and read all your news. Firstly, thank you for the card Ann. I had to giggle when Roly picked it up from the doormat, he said hmmm this one is for you, but you had him good and proper, when he saw both our names written inside. LOL I don't know if he thinks I have got a secret admirer or what.
Sallie, your card arrived today as well my love, so thank you. The mail seems to be getting through pretty quickly at the moment. I just wish that you all had not been talking about cake making though, I have got to wait till 8.30 tonight to eat. I am going to the golf club with the girls from darts, for our christmas meal, and Roly has just got himself a kebab, and the talk of cake, and the smell of his food is making me feel really hungry.
Sylvia, thank goodness all went well with the retinal specialist. It's wonderful what they can detect now with photographic retinopathy. I dont like it when they puff air into the eye. Even though you are expecting it, it still makes you jump. and blink your eyes. And the drops they put in, yuk, it nearly always stings doesn't it. Only a few days left before your departure. Even though you will be looking forwards to it, it's managing to fit in, all the things that need doing before you leave.
Jean, I am such a goodie two shoes, I had my dental check up a few weeks ago, and...I had to starve myself for my blood test this morning. All done now thank goodness, just need to wait ten days for the results.
Well my loves, I am going to have a quick cuppa, then run my bath.....No Jean, I am not taking the bath out for a run, I am putting water in it, to wash me body, and yes I know, theres plenty of body to wash between me spare tyres. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Bye for now, speak to you tomorrow. Love Mo xxx

Jean I have a yearly blood check as the doctors have a Healthy heart annual check for people on various meds. But when you have the test, ask what they are checking (ours check everything) and also mention your itchy legs to the nurse in case it can be checked in the blood test.

Sylvia, good news about your eyes, I am always glad that my eyes are usually o.k. when I have my Glaucoma check up they did tell me I have early signs of cataracts, but they could take years to fully cover the eye, its awful icy conditions here very slippy so I am staying put although we should be going to the dentist before christmas....yuk....I have had a phone call from the doctors to go and have some blood taken, when i had my flu jab she said I need my bloods chaecked , but it was such a while ago I forgot it, now I am wondering why the are doing it, J didnt have to go.... hope your epic journey turns out to be a pleasant one and asafe one take care .....
Sallie is the Belgium cake/Loaf done in a saucepan,? look on a thread that Scozz has put up she tells how she makes a simular one in the microwave , I wonder if the recipe I use would do that way . have a read see what you think..... note the time I am up doing this message I have been up since 3.45 its stupid hot burning legs and itchy skin on my hips cramp in both legs,so may a blood check may show why, its driving me mad.... I will go back to bed once himself is up and usually I have a nice sleep, well off to have another cuppa, sees you all later

Hi Mo xx
and everyone xxx
Ann ............... I do indeed remember you saying that you would like to do the train trip :-D
it was a drizzly day here, but quite warm.
we are madly trying to get our cards done, ready to put them in the post by Tuesday. We really do not want to take any with us on the train to finish ................ we're still sending out 100 or more cards, most with letters.
I had to go to the Eye Care Clinic at the hospital this morning (ie, Thursday) to see a retinal specialist ........................
and the eye exam went really well :-D :-D
They took digital photos of below the surface of the retina, not just of the surface.
It tells the specialist what is going on below the surface ......................
.............. I was absolutely fascinated looking at the pictures on the computer.
Anyway, he found nothing wrong .............. but says it would not be a bad idea to go back every year or 2 years for them to do updates.
I also had a glaucoma test, with 3 different eye drops .................... it took about 3 hours for my eyes to get back to normal!
It really is getting manic around here!
take care everyone
s xx
