Ann, it was Mo the rocking granny who went to the meet. She and I normally have a good chat when we meet up, and it can get a bit confusing when someone says our name out loud, and we both respond. lol We cant put the old compost on our soil, as we have so little garden, with raised flower beds, and if I put the old compost onto the beds, it would pour over the top and onto the patio slabs.
Sallie, I forgot you were going down to Richards for a few days. It can be very tiring visiting people, what with the journey as well. At the moment, we are not going away this year, but I do feel like getting away for a while. Being stuck indoors for the past week or more, is driving me mad. These four walls dont change from one day to the next. :-( :-( :-( Mind you, I have managed to sit in the garden a couple of times, but I was wrapped up like Eskimo Nell. And emtying those pots out yesterday whacked me out no end. I am like a wet weekend at the moment. Love Mo xxx

Hello girls,
Mo I'm sorry that you have been poorly and that you had to miss the London meet at Victoria. Let's hope that the second lot of anti-biotics that you are now on will clear the infection completely for you.
Weather is nice and bright here but it's still cold, although not as cold as it has been. We went to our favourite garden centre this afternoon, Alun wanted one or two things there and I needed something from the craft centre there. I was disappointed as they didn't have much of what I wanted. At least Alun got what we went there for and we bought a couple of dvd's and also went in the Coffee shop for tea, coffee and a scone. So at least it wasn't a wasted journey.
Jean, I am having the same problems as you with this site. I'm not sure if it is GR or my laptop. A couple of times over the weekend I couln't get on GR at all, so goodness knows what the problem is. Have you heard anything about your hospital appointment yet? Let's hope it will all be sorted very soon.
Huia, so pleased to know that your test results are good and that the Consultant was pleased with them.
Ann, glad you and T enjoyed your weekend in Hampshire, it's always nice to see the family.
We went down to Richard's on Wednesday evening for a couple of days and came home on Saturday evening.... had a lovely time but we were both tired after going out and about and the journey there and back. I suppose old age doesn't come by itself.lol!!
Like you, I hate those hearing tests that you have to press the button when you hear a noise, just wish I didn't have to have that one.lol!!
Sylvia, hope all is well with you and OH and that you are still having the good weather there.
Jeni, how are things with you? Hope you alright and managing to get some of your knitting done.
Marie, also hope all is well with you and your family.
Well I must go and make our tea now so will look in again later.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie.xxx

sorry you have been poorly Mo, hope the antibiotics continue to work their magic. What a shame you didn't make it to the meet. I was sure I saw your name on the list of those who went, you didn't send a double did you? :-D
we always put all the old compost out of the tubs etc onto the garden to help the soil.

Hello girls. Sorry not to have posted before, but I have been a poorly soldier. I started with an upper respiratory infection, that went down onto my chest. I don't think I have felt this poorly in ages. But I am on my second lot of anti-biotics now, and hopefully when I have finished this lot, will feel a lot better. I didn't even make it to the meet at Victoria last Saturday, and I feel so disappointed about that, as there was going to be a lot of peole who I have never met attending, and I so wanted to meet them. Also, young Foggy was due to show his lovely face again. Now that man is a proper Gentleman....and when I say Gentle Man, I mean just that, he is a really nice man.
I hope you are all well, and that the weather in your area is as nice as it is here. Even though it's cold, it's lovely and bright, and the sun keeps trying to show it's face.
Ann, I am pleased that you had a nice weekend. I have just put the garden recycling bin out for collection tomorrow. I am hoping I don't get a knock on the door by the bin men in the morning, as it's sooo heavy. I emptied all the planters of there old compost, and nearly filled the bin up to the top, so fingers crossed that they take it. I want get some new compost this year, and start some fresh planting, of nice new seedling and plants.
Huia, I am pleased that all went well at the eye clinic love. I always have to blink when they blow the puffer into the eyes, and yet I am aware that it's going to happen, and I still manage to blink. It sounds like you had what they call over here, the Peripheral eye test.
Well my lovelies, I am going now to prepare some dinner. Hopefully I will speak to you tomorrow. Love Mo xxx

Well done Huia, I hate those sort of tests too, like the hearing test when you have to press the button when you hear a noise.
And, just where is everyone, three days since the last post which was mine before I went away for the weekend. I assume everyone must be busy but I hope theya re all ok. A grey start to the day here but the weekend in Hampshire was lovely, sunny and fairly warm, very spring like. I suppose by the look of it we are back to winter again today. although I think the wind may have dropped a bit.

Hello to anybody who is looking in.
I had an appointment at the eye clinic in Remuera (Auckland) today at 3.40p.m. I went up there by train. It is just a short walk of about 15 mins from the Newmarket station to the clinic. I arrived early, but better early than late. The specialist was very pleased with the results of the test that had been done by a woman on my eyes. I hate the field vision test, where I have to watch the red spot in the middle of the screen and click a clicker each time a white spot appears anywhere. It is a form of torture, like waiting for water to drip on your face, and I wasnt comfortable in the chair, and I kept wanting to blink, or cough or swallow, but if I did I missed some spots. Still, I passed ok.

Hi Mo, and everyone xxx
the weather has changed here ................. after being so sunny, getting to over 16C on Sunday and Monday, it is now cloudy, much cooler, and rain is due!!
We took the littlie to a nearby children's park on Monday morning while the parents went out for a couple of hours. He had a ball trying all the equipment. I sat on a bench, and managed to get my arms sunburnt!
I was stupid .................. didn't realise the sun was so hot. I wore a hat, but forgot to put suncream on my arms!
They left late that night, and had a reasonable trip back home. MJ slept, but parents didn't.
They were glad they had come, even though it was sad.
take care everyone
s xx

Hi there everyone.
Jean my scan is on the 17th of this month at 5p.m. On the same day Roly has to be fitted with his appliance, to check on his sleep apnia (sp) at 1.00p.m, so that day is going to be spent mostly at the hospital. Thank goodness the doctor changed the Diazapan for a lower dosage Jean, sleeping nearly 24 hours a day is not right is it love. How is J doing now? I hope he is well.
Huia, goodness me, your hospice shop, has been doing very well hasn't it. I loved the new layout of the shop by the way, it looks so open and friendly. I'm sure all the staff are pleased with your help. Plus you enjoy doing it don't you love. and it gets you out of the house.
Ann, coo you are brave going out to do your potting in the cold. It has been bitter here today, and it tried to snow this morning.
We had Lilly today, and bless her, she was trying to sing "Twinkle Twinkle little star" The words were unintelligable, but she had the right way of singing it,oooh it was so funny to watch and listen to, and she was totally unaware we were listening in.
Must go now, speak to you tomorrow girls. Love to all, Mo xxx

good afternoon all. Huia, how did your explosion of colour photos get on? They were all good, were they well received?
Hope the new dosage works better Jean, too much sleep can make you feel almost as bad as not enough.
Today it has been sunny and, where sheltered quite warm. But there is a bitterly cold wind, I walked to the shops and my face was frozen, I was so pleased to get back into the warm again. Then I stood out in the garden on the patio with no coat on potting on some small plants which I then put in the conservatory, and I was quite warm. I also got a line of washing dried in a couple of hours. Surpising how happy it can make you to dry washing outside in the sunshine. It all smells lovely and fresh. Just waiting for my 'man' to iron it now :-D

Hi there Jean.
Today we took slightly over $1000 in the shop. We have a half price sale on women's and men's summer clothing, so people must have been buying a lot. I dont handle too many of the sales as I have trouble hearing the customers, as our manager wants the radio to be playing, so I usually leave it to another woman, unless she is having a tea break or whatever. I just wrap any china people are buying and pack things into bags for them while she deals with the payment. I also frequently go around the shop picking up any clothes that have fallen off hangers, taking any empty hangers into the back room, and generally keeping things tidy. Not to mention trying on the occasional garment, or deciding to buy something else! I think I will have to leave my purse and cards at home in future.

Just a hello from me too. Lovely sunny day here but windy and very cold out of the sun. However the conservatory is really hot so we have opened the inner door to let the heat warm the lounge. This morning we went to a garden centre for a coffee and scone. Didn't buy any plants though, just a jar of lemon curd, some fat balls and a few small plant pots.

Well Sallie, if I had known Richard lived so close to Lego Land, I would have popped in for a cuppa. I would have just knocked on his door and said " your mum said to pop in for a cuppa lol"
Not a lot of news to tell you girls, but just thought I would drop by and say hello. Speak to you later, love Mo xxx

Mo, like you I have been get the days mixed up since Friday, kept thinking it was Saturday. Usually go to some kind of special party on a Saturday night so that didn't help, when I woke on Saturday I thought it was Sunday...I sometimes think that I am losing it.lol!!
I didn't know that witch hazel brought out the bruising quicker, I'll have to remember that in future, thanks for that Mo.
You were right, Jennie and Michael had not been married too long then, so they wouldn't have noticed the time.lol!!!
We took Chloe to Legoland a good few years ago, it was lovely there.....all the models and layouts were wonderful and well laid out, there was so much to see and do there. Richard lives about 15 minutes away from there...trouble is we haven't got anyone to take now, which is a shame as I would love to go again.
Sylvia, I can imagine how much of a shock it was to see her godfather, even though you had told her what to expect, but it's another thing seeing him. Hope that his suffering doesn't go on too long now, it's awful for him and also for his wife seeing him like he is.
I'm sure you and OH enjoyed the company of your daughter and her family, even though it was only for a short visit this time. I bet you seen a difference in little man since Christmas, I expect he has grown a bit since then.
Sorry that your foot has flared up again hope it will soon get better.
My toe is slowly getting better, still a bit painful when I walk, but things could be worse.
Huia, Alun and my brother would have loved the Meccano Exhibition as they both had meccano when they were lads, in the early 1950's.
Alun would love to have seen the Hornby trains, as you probably know, he has a model railway layout in the utility room. Although not all Hornby, there are a few other makes that he also buys now.
Well I had better go to bed, I'm very late tonight so will speak to you all tomorrow.
Love to all our friends. Sallie.xxx

Sylvia, how lucky you are, being able to get into your spring clothes. We still need our thermals on over here. It's been a glorious sunny day, but brrr was it cold out. I wanted to get out in the garden for a while, to do a bit of tidying up, but it was far to chilly. I bet your daughter was really upset, after seeing her god father. Even though we are forewarned what to expect, it still comes as a shock to the system. I bet you noticed a big difference in little man, and that you will miss him when they go home.
Huia, your talking about the Meccano exhibition, has reminded me of the time we took our eldest grandaughter to Legoland. I don't know who was more entertained by it all, her or ourselves. The whole park is spread out over a huge expanse, and quite tiring trying to take it in, in one day. The models are exquisite, and really lifelike, and the whole place is definately worth a visit. Grandaughter also wanted to go on the rides they had there, and we have a brilliant photo of her, on a motorised model car. When we showed her it recently, she had no memory of it, but she thoroughly enjoyed herself, taking her grandfather on rides like the log flume, where they both got soaking wet.
Sallie, I hope your toe is feeling better today. Did you put witch hazel on it, to bring out the bruising quicker. Just as long as you haven't broken it, as it's so easily done. I had to chuckle at Jennie and Michaels escapade at Wilko's. I am surprised that they hadn't realised the time change earlier than that, but then if they had not been out anywhere, they wouldn't have known would they. Mind you, they were newly married....(ducks before Sallie smacks her one lol) they wouldn't have noticed the time. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Thank goodness we get back to normal tomorrow, my days feel really mixed up at the moment. You wouldn't think that being retired would make much difference would you, but Friday I kept thinking was Saturday, and so it has gone on all weekend. Yes I know it's a CRAFT weekend ( Cant Remember A Flipping Thing) Bye for now dear friends, take care one and all. Love Mo xxx
