Looks like I have been talking to myself for a couple of weeks. Mo, Jean, Sallie and anyone else, hope you are all ok.
we still haven't had any rain and we are having to water the pansies we have in pots and baskets. Yesterday it was very cold here but dry and part sun, the day before was sunny, today it is back to being grey and damp.
OH had a cortisone injection in his shoulder this morning. He was not looking forward to it having had one in his slbow some years ago, however, he said he hardly felt this one. Let's hope it helps the shoulder get better. I will be glad when he can play golf again. :-D :-D :-D At the moment he is giving the lawn a last cut.

Aaw Mo, we do feel for the children in our families and it is sad that it has taken so long for poor Lilly to be diagnosed. I suspect you will love her all the more for ot bless her. <3

Hello girls, Thank goodness this week is nearly over, we have attended two funerals, oh so very sad days. Our Lilly has had her assessment done, and she is suffering from ADHD and AUTISM. She has now got to see a specialist, who will decide if she should be given medication to calm her down or not. This afternoon. we visited her at her dads, and she was so hyper it was unbelievable. When we asked her what she had done at school today, she couldn't remember doing anything, apart from playing with her friends. I was praying that what we had seen over the last few years, was in our imagination, and that she was just an excitable little girl, but no such luck. It will NEVER change our love for her though.
I do hope everyone is well, take care all, speak to you soon.x

I think this week's results were probably right, Naga didn't impress me at all and Brendan and Anastacia were better.
We were slip sliding away again so I scouted down the boards to find us.
T has had an aching shoulder for 8 weeks and finally got a doctors appointment yesterday. (phoned up in the morning, appointment in the afternoon.) The doctor thinks it is possibly a frozen shoulder which could take quite a while to improve. He saw that T had not had a blood test for ages so he had one this morning! He also said his BP is higher than he would like (I see medication coming!!) which is a new one as his BP has always been good, but I suspect it may be pain sending it up. He also had to phone for an Xray to rule out any arthritis. Xray this afternoon. :-)

My goodness we have been slipping down the pages haven't we, thanks for the booster Ann. Time seems to fly by. The clocks go back very soon, so it's going to be darker in the mornings, so perhaps then I can lay in bed longer, instead of waking up as soon as the birds start singing their little heads off. O.k, come on admit it, how many of us are watching strictly. There are some really good dancers on this year, but also one or two not so good. I will give Ed Balls credit where it's due, he is so different to how he appears on the surface, and he is really enjoying himself, he is not the best, but he puts so much into it. And hey, he has just got through this weeks dance offs, aaah bless him. Take care all, love and hugs Mo xxx

Oh dear, we were down on page four so I had better send us to the top again. Good to see you sallie, hope you and Alun are ok at the moment.
Mo, yes we were in Tenerife for two weeks, had lovely hot weather and came back to much lower temperatures. Still, as we go away again tomorrow, this time to our daughter's, we have not had much time to stand around getting cold. Jean hasn't been on here for a while, wonder if her lap top is playing up? Hope she is ok.
Well I had better get on, just going to put some holiday photos on the blog.

Oh my goodness Sylvia, would you like me to send you a peg for your nose, to prevent you having to smell the neighbour. LOL I have to admit, learning of this tradition is an eye opener. We seem to live by different customs all over the world in this day and age, mind you, this is not exactly a new tradition is it for the Chinese. Remembering how the feet binding tradition of years ago, this should not really surprise us.
I didn't realise you had been away Ann, shows how my head has been lately, up in the clouds I think. Did you have a nice time?
Jean, I bet it broke both your hearts to see the weeds in the front of the house, remembering how lovely you kept it previously. It's an impossible task for D to keep under, bless her. It shouldn't take much for a gardener to clear it for her, especially at this time of year. Mind you, the falling leaves can be a real pain in the BTM, as we are finding out again this year. I have cut as much as I can back, in our garden, but it looks so bare now, but needs must where the devil drives as they say.
Take care one and all, hugs Mo

Mo, what a sad week. It gives you quite a turn to look out and see the ambulance outside your house doesn't it? Even if you know you are both safe. I am sorry to hear about your friend and neighbours. Our neighbours funeral was while we were away.
Sylvia if there is a 'pong' coming from your neighbors house you will know she is sticking to tradition. Is that similar to the okd tradition here ehere new mothers had to stay in until they were 'churched'.
Jean any excuse to retire to the craft room.
Sallie good to see you, let us hope then that Alun's foot doesn't go numb. But good to know he doesn't have a hip problem. <3

Mo so sorry to read about your friend, its always sad when someone who is part of your life be it family or neighbors, we probably spend more time with our neighbors than with the family . our thoughts and prayers are with you and their families....
Sylvia, I had never heard about the custom you wrote about, wonder if the young couple will obey or move with the times...
Weather is changing now, much cooler and the leaves are just starting to turn, we were at the traffic lights outside our old house, the tiny front garden is full of weeds and right in the middle there is a plant that has appeared, its corn with spikes of seeds a bird must have dropped it and its taken root in the nick between paving slabs, D cant manage to clear it so we will get a gardener to come and sort it for her......
Footie is on soon , good excuse for me to retire to my craft room
see you all later love Jean xx <3 <3 <3

Hi everyone
Mo ........... that was quite the week! I was sorry to hear that you have lost your friend
Some good news to balance your rotten week .................
Our neighbour had twin boys on Tuesday morning. They came home yesterday, all well.
The house was owned by the parents of the father of the twins ............. they bought it about 9 months after we bought ours, but moved away about 7 or 8 years later after they had built a house in a different part of town but kept this one and rented it out. They are of Chinese origin and one tradition is that the parents provide a house for a son when he marries.
The younger son wanted to come back to this neighbourhood where he had spent the first 6 or 7 years of his life, but the house had not been maintained well, so it was demolished, a new one built and he and his wife and baby daughter moved in about 8/9 years ago. It is now their house, but his parents are round frequently
They had another daughter about 4 years ago, and then decided to have a 3rd child .............. only it turned out to be twins!!!
The wife will now follow her Chinese tradition (she was born in China whereas the husband was born here), and stay in for the next month. There are several other traditions included in that but I don't know whether she will observe them all .......... strict observance includes no showers, hair washing, etc for the whole time.
We have had 3 days of lovely sunny weather, including yesterday the first day of Autumn, but it is raining today
Hopefully it will be better tomorrow when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children arrive for a week's visit.

Hello girls, Oh boy what a week we have had,not a good one I must say. Monday lunch time, there was two ambulances parked outside our house. One Paramedic came out and got the defibralator (sp) out of the ambulance, and we said to each other, that doesn't look good, but we couldn't see what house they were at. Unfortunately, they were at our neighbour across the roads house. She was a young woman in her early 50's, awaiting a heart lung transplant, after getting COPD quite a few years ago. She had been unwell for a few days, and her daughter had been trying to ring her all morning and got no reply, so the daughter got in her car and raced over, only to find her mum collapsed, and not breathing, she tried CPR, and called the ambulance, but unfortunately it was to late.
At the exact same time on the Tuesday, we received a phone call from our dear friends Ann's daughter, to say that her mum had also passed away, from what they seem to think was a heart attack. Our Ann, had been fighting Bone Cancer for a few years now, but that was not what caused her demise.
Both the neighbour, and our beloved friend were called Ann. Then we were told of a neighbour around the corner, had also passed away the Friday before. So as you can see, it's not exactly been a very good week.
So may they all rest in peace.
Onwards and upwards now girls, tomorrow is another day, and life HAS to go on, god willing.
Have a good weekend girls, take care, love and hugs to you all, Mo xxx

Hi Jean, it sounds as though you and J enjoyed the last two days, which is nice. As you said, it is good that there are quite a few things to do and join in for all the residents and especially for the ones living on their own. Hope that they sold some of your cards.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Yesterday we went to have a lunch in the resident lounge to celebrate 1940, it was put on for us all, nice free lunch and today J and I went down to the next floor to have a look at a memory room dedicated to the 1940s, it was very ineresting although I was 5years old, some of the items and furniture are still going strong, they will probaly do more of such memories ,all my cards were on sale dont know how they went, but all proceeds go to the tenants fund so there is lots of things happening which is nice for folk who are on their own......the place was packed mainly with folk we didnt know, even the carers asked who they were ;-) ;-) ;-)still everyone seemed happy so thats good.
hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the late summer sun very warm again today

Oh Jean, I must be careful what I wish for.....it tipped it down with rain last night, and has been raining on and off all day.
I don't want to think about Christmas, but, it's coming round rather quickly. Do you remember when I used to buy most of my presents in the January sales, not anymore LOL When we went to the supermarket today, they were selling two tins of chocolates for £7.00, and people were buying them for presents already. I know I shouldn't have shocked after what I used to do, but it really surprised me that people had started to buy already for this coming Christmas. I know that the cards are in the shops already, and are being snapped up, so please tell me, am I missing something or what. Has Christmas been moved and is happening earlier than usual.
Well my lovelies, have a wonderful weekend, take care Mo xxx
