Hi all xxx
Huia ............. I'm fine, didn't feel a thing, although many people in and around Vancouver did! It all depends on where you were, and on the type of soil.
People living in highrises seem to have felt it the most!!
I think our friends that we were with last weekend did feel it!
For the others .................. a 6.4 magnitude 'quake hit just off the west coast of central Vancouver Island about 4 hours ago. Little or no damage reported.
still having lovely sunny weather, although it is a little too hot for me at 27/28C in mid-afternoon!
hope you are all well.
Sally ........ hope you feel better soon. xxxxx

Hi girls I am also just popping in to say hello, Mo I hope you feel better soon, and you Sallie if you are looking in. The wind has been wild here today and they say we will have gales of up to 80mph tomorrow. I hate the wind ever since I was coming home from a night dancing in my teens, I got to the top of our road, a hill and the wind took me off my feet straight down someones garden. Luckily my dad was coming to meet me because of the wind so got me home safe, wouldn't dare go out in it nowadays.
Caz
Sylvia I meant to say I couldn't cope with the heat over there, I am glad it is cooling down a bit here

Batton down the hatches Caz, we dont want to lose you. I hope all our friends who live in the way of the gale force winds, manage to cope, and stay safe. As long as it doesn't blow the roof off of the house, and you stay inside you should be o.k Caz. According to the forecast we are going to miss the worst of it, thank the lord. Love and best wishes to you all, Mo xxx

Hi everyone, just on for a minute. Have not been the best for the past few weeks, but am feeling much better now. Hospital admitted mistakes so much relieved about that. Sallie will write to-morrow. Hope Liz is enjoying her holiday. Ycaz hope that you are feeling well, also Mo. We are expecting winds of 130 miles per hour to-night. Dogs brought in for the night. Talk to-morrow again. Betty.

Hello Betty, havent seen you for a while.
There was a tornado and lightning in Avondale, on the west side of Auckland yesterday just after lunch. Luckily there dont appear to have been any injuries, just tiles lifted and tree branches fallen and fences toppled.
I am off soon to the hospice shop so must get a move on.

Good evening girls, how are we all tonight. It's so nice to hear from you Betty, I hope you have able to withstand the gale force winds. Poor little dogs, I bet the winds have frightened the life out of them. I also hope there was no accidents, pee wee wise I mean. Bless them, it's not like they can cross their legs and hold it in is it. lol
How did it go at the Hospice shop Huia. Were you very busy, and do you get lots of customers coming in, looking for bargains. My lord, I didn't realise that West of Auckland had suffered again, with the Tornado and lightening. Our news over here seems to pick and chose what news they want to show.
I hope our Sallie is o.k, I do miss hearing from her. Likewise our Jean, I hope that both herself and Jeff are well, it's not like her not to have been popping in very often, I just hope that the blessed Vertigo has not been playing her up again.(((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) Sending love to Joyce, as she has not been spotted for a while.
I must go and get a bath now, as I have got darts tonight. Bye for now my friends, love to you all, Mo xxx

Hi girls just to say hello again, well what a day with the wind, and it's getting worse, a bit frightening really. Jean and Jeff are ok and she hasn't got the vertigo Mo, I think she is just busy trying to get on with her cards, you know how it is when you start one, you just carry on. She has done some beautiful cards, I don't know where she gets her ideas from. Joyce is the same doing a lot of cards but she is having trouble with her legs being bad, the nurse has to go and bandage them every day. I worry about Sallie, I know she is not very well at the moment and I'm looking forward to seeing her back on here.
Hi Betty lovely to see you on here, I miss you when you're not here, Joyce tells me you are getting on ok, that's good to know. Better watch your doggies, we don't want them flying over here in the high wind, lol.
Love Caz xx

hi all xxx
Had my hair cut today ..... hopefully that will keep it looking reasonably respectable during the 10 days or so before I will be able to have a shower after the op next week!
Although, my hairdresser did say that she would wash it for me if I could get in there (and be able to sit in the backward chair) ................ and she would only charge me a little over half the normal price
FINALLY, the weather has cooled down .......... it only got to a little over 20C today (as well as being cloudy for most of the day). But I find that so much more pleasant than whe it was close to 30C! That hot weather went on for over 2 weeks ..... incredible for September!
Not much other news!

Sylvia, I bet you are looking all glamorous with your new hair cut. It's nice to know that your hairdresser, is prepared to wash your hair for you, during your recovery. There are not many who are prepared to put themselves out for their customers like that. There is to much money grabbing goes on these days, and not enough care and consideration for others. I don't need to tell you that you are in my thoughts love. You are welcoming the cooling down of the weather, well I wish it would warm up, "just a little" here. The last few days have been really chilly here.
Caz thanks for letting me know that Jean and Jeff are both o.k, thats a relief. All we need now is for Sallie to get better, and come and join us again. We do miss her dont we.
Must go now girls, things to do, places to go, people to see. Love to all. Mo xxx

hi all xxx
it has turned cool, and damp, here
Fall is here, I think!
Getting things together ready for Tuesday. I have to go to one hospital for 6:45 am for them to inject a dye ............. to the Nuclear Medicine department, not sure if that means radioactive dye ;-)
Then we have to cross town to the other hospital ...... and they would like me there for 7:30 am
Do hope the rush hour traffic isn't too bad!! :-D
I got a prezzie yesterday
from daughter
made by her own fair hands, by loom knitting
a fluorescent pink boa (or short stole)
you know, that fluorescent pink they use for breast cancer things?
It actually has a certain attractiveness to it ........ though OH did say "Oh my gawd" when he saw it!
She also sent a card that was filled with little tiny pink and white "ribbons", tied in open bows ........ the breast cancer symbol The envelope had a warning "Open Carefully". So I opened it over the sink, but managed not to spill any
Do hope that everyone is well, or is recovering, or feeling better xxxxxxx
take care everyone

My best wishes to you Sylvia.
Yesterday I went to town and when I was coming home I had to drive verrrry slowly up part of our road, as there was a pair of paradise ducks with 7 ducklings waddling up the road. I kept waving my fist and yelling 'get off the road you stupid pedestrians' but they ignored me. I tried hanging back to give the parents time to think and to shepherd the youngsters off the road, but every time I thought it would happen and started crawling up again the parents would be each side of the group flapping their wings to keep them together and hurry them up. Then a big truck came round the corner and I thought that would be it, but he stopped in time. At least the ducklings went to the side so he could pass. I had to back up, half into the ditch so he could pass me. I then carried on and managed to get past the ducklings and there was no sign of the parents. I hope they returned and led their brood to safety. With all the logging trucks going up and down our road, the road is no place for families like that. But they looked so cute. Unfortunately I didnt have a camera with me, boohoo.

Oh Huia, what a shame you didn't have your camera, or even your cine camera to have captured the ducklings on film. They are soo sweet arn't they. Mother ducks can be very protective of their young. It's becoming very quiet on here lately isn't it. How are you these days? Any more visits from the unwanted visitors( the rats).
I am going to start a chain of love and thoughts for our Sylvia, for a good outcome after her operation on Tuesday. 0000000000000000000000 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 00000000000000000000 We will be thinking of you Sylvia. Love Mo xxx

Mo, I havent seen any sign of the rats lately, or heard them gnawing away, but I am sure they will be back :-( I have some poison and traps ready for them. I think they are actually living in our campervan at present, as I went into it with my son to check something, and the stink was abominable. They had been in the cutlery drawer too. I just shut it and got out in a hurry before I was overcome by the smell. I suppose I should put a mask on and go and clean up and set traps or poison in there sometime.
Thinking of you Sylvia. 000000 <3 <3 <3000000
