Hi, everyone still here but not much, very busy trying to keep on top of things, and seeing to my man, although he is able to do a lot for himself now, he gets tired and that bugs him, however the doctor he has just been to see has told him how poorly he was, funny that, we have been telling him for ages, but does he listen .... yet the doc tells him and now he believes.... still at least he knows whats going on now.... the doctor did say it will be quite a long time before his body recovers the immense shock it recieved, so onwards and upwards...I do try and read what you are chatting about so keep at it , love to all of you, btw has anyone heard from Linda in Berkshire? it seems along time since we heard from her, I hope she is o.k. see you later be nice to each other and dont let our leader bully you, hear that Mo???? love and prayers Jean xxx

Hello everyone. Jean, Linda has been suffering with the same problem as you, with the giddiness. I'm not sure if it's Vertigo, but it's on the same lines as yours. It's got a funny name, and I can't remember what it's called. But she seems to be a lot better now. She has just finished decorating her spare bedroom. Why do men never believe what we tell them, they have to hear it from someone higher up the chain. It sounds like the hospital are very pleased with Jeff's progress. How is D getting on, has she started her new job?
Oh Huia, what a pity that they might be moving Phil. He has now become accustomed to where he is, lets hope and pray that if they do move him, it doesn't unsettle him. Even a move to the hospital wing, could be bewildering for him, as he is used to the nursing staff where he is now. You mind how you walk in the frosty weather, you don't want to slip over and hurt yourself .
Oops phone.

YOO HOO, where is everybody? This was down low on page 4. It is more than 2 days since anybody posted on here. That goes for me too, of course. I have been out a couple of times and when I am home I havent been able to come online as I have been waiting for a phone call. I wish I could get broadband here, but at least I can fill the waiting time by scanning old negatives. I dont need to connect to the internet for that.
I will be going out again today, probably visit my daughter before lunch and Phil after lunch, so I had better start thinking about getting on with things.
Huia.

Did go for a ride out on Wednesday, throught the Forest of dean to Tintern Abbey and then to a garden centre for lunch. That was a nice day out. Tomorrow we are taking her home then going on to daughters until Monday.

Good morning girls, sorry not to have posted yesterday, bu we were baby sitting baby Lilly last night. She was a good girl for nanny and grandad, not like the last time we sat for her, when she screamed the house down, for hours on end.
We are going to a silver wedding celebration this afternoon. It's a bit confusing, as the invitation say to be at the R.C church at 3.00p.m. But we are not sure if they are having a blessing done, or just a party in the church hall. But the timing is rather strange, 3.00p.m till 8.00p.m Still if it's so exciting, we could be home by 3.45 lol ;-)
Take care all. Love Mo xxx

It sounds a bit like a dinner, Mo. Tomorrow afternoon I am going to Hunua for a farewell to a local couple. It is an afternoon tea, 'bring a plate'.
I visited Phil this morning, but he barely opened his eyes on a couple of occasions so I got my camera and photographed his present bedroom and went out into the garden to take some photos as well. I will have to put them on the computer so I can put them on my blog.
I then visited my daughter in Pukekohe. I had my lunch with me (always wise, so I dont overeat) but couldnt eat it there as her 2 dogs always think it is for them, so I drove up Pukekohe Hill and ate while I enjoyed the view in the lovely weather, also took some photos.

Huia, it was not a blessing after all, just a buffet and drinks. We arrived at 3.15, and left at 5.00 and went and had a meal out. It was sooo boring that we were glad to get away. But we did have a lovely meal, and we are now sitting here in our jamas, enjoying a bit of t.v and relaxing.
What a shame Phil was unresponsive Huia. It must be very hard for you to see him like this. But at least you got to see your daughter, and were able to sit and have a chat with her.
Well I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. Bye for now, love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi Girls,
Sorry I haven't been on here for a few days.....I've been busy making birthday cards, hope I can finish them soon so that I can make a start on my Christmas cards. Speaking of Christmas cards, we received our first Christmas card yesterday, off an Estate Agent and not even the one that we have our house still up for sale with.lol!!
Mo, that was a strange invitation that you and Roly had to the 25th wedding anniversary, I always thought that if you invited someone to celebrate a special occasion there would be some sort of food, if only finger food. Never mind Mo, at least you and Roly had a lovely meal out, so didn't lose out.
Huia, sorry to hear that Phil hardly opened his eyes while you were there. It was a good idea to take photographs of his bedroom and the grounds of the home and add them to your blog.
Well we stil haven't had our car back, it's still up in the garage in Yorkshire. The repairs that were first going to cost us £260 went up to £900 and then went up to nearly £1,500, the fly wheel had gone so that's why it's cost so much. So girls, it looks as though we'll be on dry bread and water for the next couple of weeks.lol!! I think it will be ready for us to pick it up on Tuesday.....as far as I'm concerned they can keep the damn thing, it's nothing but trouble.
I hope all our friends on here are all alright, it seems a long time since we've heard from some of them.
Well, I'm going to to a bit more of my cards now, so will speak to you soon.
Take care everyone.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Sallie, they did have a finger buffet at the celebrations, but there were sooo many flies hanging around the food table, we just couldn't bring ourselves to touch it. yuk! Oh my god, what are they doing to your car. At that price, I would expect to have a complete new vehicle. lol Why didn't they notice that the fly wheel had gone earlier. Well not being a mechanic I wouldn't know one end of the vehicle to the other, but if they said it was one thing wrong, how has it now changed to something else as well. The trouble is, we become so reliant on our cars, that when they go wrong, we really miss having them.
It has been really warm here today. The thermostat in the car, was reading 29, and that for us, in this country is very warm.
I hope everyone is well, and that we hear from our dear missed friends soon. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi girls, just popped on to say hello, I haven't been on for a while when I think of it, been a bit down. Mo I don't blame you for not eating anything at the buffet, flies are disgusting things. We are starting to get a lot of wasps in the kitchen. Last year we had a wasps nest under the eaves and I think they might have another one further along this year.
Sallie what a lot it is costing you for the car, as Mo said it would be cheaper to get another although second hand. Ours is three years old in November so we will be changing it, it's a mobility car.
It has been very hot and sticky here today even though we have a cool breeze, wish it would cool off a bit, I have never been a fan of the summer and sun.
Huia I saw your new photos this morning, they are lovely, what a beautiful place New Zealand is, it looks as if you could tramp all day and not meet anyone else at all.
Hello to everyone else and I hope you are all keeping well.
Love Caz xx

Hi there Caz. We have had lots off wasps and bees in our garden this year. I like to sit out on the bench, but as soon as I sit down I get bombarded with the bloomin things, and have to run inside till they vanish. I'm not a coward really lol but I just don't want to get stung. Our Ford Focus, is nearly six years old now, but we will have to run it till it falls apart on us I'm afraid, or rusts to death. Bye for now. Love to you both Mo xxx

Caz lovely to see you on here, I hope you are feeling a bit better and not so down as you have been.
I'm terrified of wasps, I've been stung a few times so every time I see one I beat a hasty retreat......although not as quick as I use to be when I was younger.lol!!
Huia, I've looked at your blog, the photos are lovely as usual. NZ is such a beautiful country, I would love to visit it one day if only I could afford to.
Mo, I don't blame you and Roly not eating any of the beffet food with so many flies around it....dirty horrible things that can spread disease.
Our car is five years old, we bought it brand new and had hoped that we wouldn't have had this sort of trouble....but then I suppose it's the luck of the draw whatever it is we buy.
Alun says that it's cost us so much because of the labour charges, they have had to strip the gear box right down, do the job and then put it all back together again. so that's where most of the money has gone.
I'm sure that Roly and Phil will know what I mean, when you explain it to them both.
Love and best wishes to the three of you. Sallie.xxx

I know that bees like blue. One year I was hanging out the washing while wearing a bright electric blue dress. A bee came buzzing around me (or was it a wasp, cant remember the details that far back) and I was ducking and diving among the sheets trying to shake it off. I finally ran inside and slammed the screen door in its face. I changed my clothes to a different colour and then I was able to hang the washing up undisturbed.

Huia bees won't hurt you unless they think they are threatened, once they have stung they die. Wasps on the other hand are horrible little blighters, I once stood on one in bare feet when I was young and have never forgotten the pain, hence I am scared of them. I find wasps are attracted to yellow, I have yellow sticky flowers on my kitchen window and they have caught three already. I was feeling a bit better Sallie until this morning and the news of Deanna, can't stop crying now, she was such a lovely lady, funny and kind. Marie I hope you enjoyed the film, the reunion is getting ever closer, hope it will be everything you expect and more.
Love Caz xx

Hi Everyone, had my sister here all last week which meant I couldn't settle to doing much on here. Who said you can choose your friends..............? Anyway, delivered her home when she discovered she couldn't find her key to get in :-) We had just driven 2 hours so OH was not amused. Hunted through large handbag, nothing (both of us.) The neighbour who holds the spare key was out (we'd had to park in neighbours drive because there were no parking spaces near her home. (Sister doesn't have a drive her garage is down the end of her garden at the back.) I suggested she might have put the key in her case when she got to us for safety but she said no she never does that. :-) :-\ Anyway, another neighbour suggested she wait there so that we could get off. This had taken half an hour :-) We went on then to our daughters, another half hour drive. Later that day had a text to say key was safely in her case :-S :-S :-S :-S
After that we had a lovely weekend with daughter. Spent my birthday vouchers in hobbycraft and more money in M&S at Hedge End, a large superstore. On Sunday we stayed a second night and two of our Grandsons and the eldest's fiance joined us for a meal so that was nice.
Anyway, home now and starting to think about our Tenerife holiday next week. This week is blood test (cholestrol), result of chest x-ray, hairdresser and hearing clinic to get one of my aids adjusted. Next week chiropodist. And I have to sort out and send a months supply of birthday cards!

Oooh lucky girl Ann, off to Tenerife again. At least you will be guaranteed better weather there. I had to chuckle at your escapade at your sisters house. Mind you, it's typical of a lot of us, putting things in such safe places that we can't find them. It sounds like you had a lovely time with the rest of the family over the weekend though.
Marie, there is always one person who holds things up, isn't there. At least by the time you have got as far as you can, with the family tree, anyone who is a late comer with any family news, will have to be dissappointed, but it will be their own faults for not getting their finger out sooner. Have a lovely time at Kerryann's, and see you when you get back, if we don't hear from you before you go love.
Caz, Deanna wouldn't want you to be so upset love. Just remember the good times and the laughter you all shared together. I know that you and Joyce were very close to her, and she would be upset, to think you are both weeping, when she is now free of any pain, that she was having to endure. May the good lord bless her, and keep her safe within his hands.
Love to you all. Mo xxx

Here I am again, rescuing this thread from disappearing into oblivion. Where are you all?
I went to a funeral yesterday, my 2nd cousin's husband. It was nice to meet all the relatives, her sister and 2 brothers, her sons and their wives and children and grandchildren. Funerals seem to be the only time I get to meet them. A few years ago I did suggest to her that we should have a family reunion, but she didnt think that anybody would be interested.
