Hi all
just a quick update
I've just got the appointment for my biopsy .... July 29
It's so long because we're going away this weekend, and they couldn't do it this week, so it has to wait until we return.
They can use either ultrasound or mammogram to see where they are doing the biopsy
if the latter ....... I get to be pinned on the mammagram machine for around 30 minutes :-0

Maybe my page is narrower than yours, Ann, so US has to be on the next line. I do have the print on the largest size, I think.
Sylvia, I dont think I could bear to be pinned for that long. The corner of the table always digs in under my arm. Good luck anyway.
Huia.

I have the same as Ann ...... Aus, NZ, SA, USA
They do say that they will keep me as comfortable as possible :-S
I will also be "tagged" ...... they put a tiny metal chip at the site to show where tissue was taken
"they" say that the clip is made of titanium ............. and will NOT therefore set off airport alarms :-D
I can just see trying to demonstrate to the not-very-bright security staff that we have over here just WHAT is setting off the alarm :-D :-D

My brother in law has a metal plate in his arm. He was surprised that it did not set off alarms. Maybe it is titanium. He got the lady to feel his arm - anything to have a woman squeezing his arm.

Yesterday, just after my last post, I went to town to the hearing aid people. I said I wasnt happy with these ones. We discussed it and I finished up ordering an upgrade to better quality, but over the ear rather than in the ear. Luckily they are on special, so 'only' another $1500. But what good is the money in the bank if I am miserable because I cant hear people properly?
After that I went to the dentist to see if I could make an appointment as a filling had come out in the morning. She was able to take me straight away. Found 3 teeth that needed fixing, plus they need cleaning. I told her to just do the top 2 teeth on that visit. She found one of the teeth (the one that lost the filling) had very bad decay, almost down to the nerve, so we decided on a root canal filling. Plus she repaired the other one, although she thinks it might need to come out some time. I have 2 more sessions on the root canal. Total for those 2 teeth, $750, but I dont want to leave them. I am the last of the big spenders. And of course some time I will have to think about the other tooth at the bottom. :-(
Just as well we had some savings.

Hi everyone
Huia ........... we're just hearing about this:-
A tsunami warning has been issued for New Zealand after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck in the Pacific Ocean north of the country.
The quake hit at 12:03 p.m. local time about 161 kilometres east of Raoul Island in the remote Kermadec Islands, which are about 900 kilometres north of New Zealand.
The quake's epicentre was about 913 km south of Nuku'alofa in Tonga.
The Kermadec Island and Tonga are also covered by the tsunami warning.
Civil Defence New Zealand cautioned people to stay away from the coastline, TVNZ reported. If there is tsunami, it was expected to reach New Zealand's East Cape at 8:52 a.m. local time, Gisborne at 8:59 a.m. and Auckland's east coast at 10 a.m.
The U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said it is not known if an actual tsunami has occurred.
A tsunami is not expected along the California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, or Alaska coasts.
I assume you yourself are OK, and far enough inland?! :-D

Hi Sylvia. Our NZ geo people did not think there was any threat of a tsunami as the quake was in a N-S direction and any waves would go W-E. My home is up in the hills so safe anyway, but I went to Papakura and Mangere and wore my gumboots (wellingtons) just in case! (Just joking). My sister at North Shore is above the reach of any tsunami and Phils sister at Stanmore Bay is also well above the reach.
I dont know where Mo and Jean and Sallie and some of the others are. I know Ann has posted recently but I miss the others. 'Come back, all is forgiven'.

Hi Everyone,
Huia, so gald to hear that you are and your family are safe from a tsunami if you have one in NZ.
Yes, you are right, it is very, very quiet on here, I don't know where Jean, Marie and Mo are. I sent Mo a PM last Thursday, and although she has opened it, I haven't heard anything from her. So just hope that she and her family are OK.
Sylvia, just in case I miss you you before you go away on Saturday, have a good holiday, it will be lovely for you and OH to see your family. You'll see a big difference in MJ now with not having seen him since Christmas. Sending him lots of hugs and kisses. Crossing my fingers that you'll get some good weather too. Take care.
Ann, I have a few more cards to put on your blog, so as soon as Alun will take photos of them, we'll put them on. I just hope it won't take him too long.lol!!
Caz, how are things with you? I hope that Phil is getting better and that the doctors have now sorted out his Warfarin dosage. Also hope that you aren't too bad at the moment. Are you managing to make some cards? I'm back into making them again, all the Christmas stuff is coming in now, so bought some things last Friday....but I still have birthday cards to make, so haven't done anything with it yet.
Jean, I hope that Jeff is getting better and stonger each day. Also hope that you are OK, too.
Jennie and Michael are taking Alun and I out for lunch on Saturday, so am looking forward to that. Each time we all go out for a family meal, Alun and I always foot the bill., not that we mind paying for them, but it will be nice to be treated for a change.
Well I have to go out now, so will speak to you all soon.
Take care.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Cooeee everyone. Yippee, I have managed to get onto the site ar last. Now I just hope that after I have managed to post, that G.R dont lose it for me, I will be really annoyed if they do.
All is well at this end of the u.k, apart from the flippin weather of course. But then thats something we are all having to put up with.
Huia, how great it will be, to be able to hear proerly, and when you smile have gleaming choppers. Spend as much as you like on yourself, after all, both you and Phil saved and worked hard for whatever money you have saved. The money is there to make your retirement easier, and for little luxuries for yourself. We have told out family, that any inheritance they receive, will be in bricks and mortar. We are not millionaires, and like most of us, have to manage on our pensions. All the children own their own homes, so any inheritance they get, will be a bonus for them. They all, like us in our time, work hard for what they earn. So as you can probably guess, my attitude is, what ever we need, we will have while we can afford it, and so should you love.
Oh my lord, not another tsunami warning. Lets hope and pray it doesn't happen.
Sylvia, have a safe and lovely holiday. Big (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) for MJ when you see him.
Sallie enjoy your meal out on Saturday. Is this a treat for your Birthday on the ninth, hah you thought I had forgotten didnt you, but no not me I am like an elephant, along with my trunk(nose) lol Good grief girl, have you started making your christmas cards all ready. You are sooo good.
I hope that all our friends who have been unwell, are now feeling better. Sending love to Jean, Ann, Marie, Caz,Joyce,Betty, Tess,Liz and all our other friends. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hello everyone, we are slowly adjusting to all the daily things needed to do, so a routine is starting now, Jeff is doing so well he walks outside each day going a little farther daily. he does all his ablutions himself , eating well sleeping o.k. some of the equipment he was loaned to help him around the house are going back today, manages now to get his own breakfast now and then....just need to get him to make mine now.....lol....one thing we need to do is get a cleaner, he used to do most of the heavier stuff , but at the moment cant manage it, its too much for myself and D to do,
Sylvia have a great holiday and enjoy yourselves...
big hugs to everyone else ((((((((((((((((X )))))))))))))))))))))

Sylvia, missed you, have alovely time anyway.
Jean good to see you back on here and to hear that Jeff is doing so well. I am sure that the house is not getting that dirty so I would echo Huia and say don't stress about it. What sort of jobs are you talking about? Sometimes if we step back we can see that some jobs are ones we have made ourselves and are not really important. Did you mean a human cleaner or electric one?
Mo good to see you on here as well, hope you continue to manage to get on. Is the problem your computer? there were a few problems a couple of days ago but I mostly have been able to get on.
Sallie, send the cards when you are ready. I have a few to put on from Jean but have to go out this morning so will probably do that after lunch. :-) <3
