Just a quick pop in to read the latest postings.
Sylvia, I hope that everything is good at the cabin and that you are able to get a decent pump/generator.
Ann have a lovely time in the Lake District. I haven't been for years (about 18) but lived in Keswick as a toddler. A beautiful place, I still have some memories of that time.
Will be back tomorrow for a proper chat.

Morning all Enjoy the time away all those of you who are off on their travels, Anne and Sylvia at least
Have family problems at the moment so not adding so often sorry.
Dizzyness is kept at bay by the tablets but wondering what will happen when I stop taking them?
Managed a little gardening yesterday. Don't think there will be much done today, very overcast and rain is promised. Wish I'd felt up to doing it all yesterday.
Both my parents are in hospital (different ones too) at least until tomorrow and as I don't drive and they are 30 miles away no chance to get to see them either. Life sucks sometimes.
Sorry feeling a bit down at the mo.
Try to cheer up a bit and come back later

Linda, we are all here for you love. Please stay strong, and know that we are thinking of you, and mum and dad, willing them to get better soon, and back by each others side. How was the giddiness whilst you were gardening. Only I would have imagined it would have made it worse, bending over like that. So the tablets must be helping you love.
Hope to hear from you today Tess, and that you are not overdoing it.
Ann, it's so lovely in the Lake District, I know that you will both enjoy yourselves. Heres hoping that the flaming rain goes away, and you have some nice weather.
Oooh Sylvia, look out for those dreaded wood rats,(or whatever they were) that got in the last time you went to the cabin. I hope they have not got in again and caused more havoc, thats the last thing you need. Will they deliver the generator to the cabin, or do you have to pick it up on the way?
Love and ((((((((((((hugs for Jean and Jeff)))))))))))))))
Caz and Joyce, thinking of you both. Get well soon Joyce, and know that friends do care about you.
Sallie, have a great day with the family. Save me some roast dinner please,as we are not having one today. Just cold Gammon, new potato's, green beans, carrots and peas. Oh and of course trifle for dessert.
See you all later. Love Mo xxx

Linda, I'm so sorry to hear about both your parents being hospital. It doesn't help that they are also in different ones and so far away from you.
We had a similar problem when both Alun's mother and my uncle ( who was very close to us, and whose only child died when she was nineteen) were in hospital. As they were both so ill, we had to travel down to S.Wales sometimes twice a week to see them....they were in hospitals that were in different directions and 15miles apart. The other problem was, that Alun's sister lives up in Yorkshire, so it made things even more difficult.
I'm sure that like me, that there are times when you wish you could drive., as it isn't easy for our hubbys to take time off. I really hope that your parents will both get well very, very soon. Also hope that your dizziness won't come back after you've finished the tablets.
We are all here for you, anytime you need us, as Mo has already said.
Take care of yourself. Sending lots of positive thoughts to you and your family.
Mo, we had roast beef today, but Jennie had hardly any of it. She isn't very good at all, although the pain is a lot better, but she is feeling drained and don't feel like eating at all. I'm wondering if the antibiotics are making her feel this way. We're all at a loss on knowing what to do for her. I hope that she will ring the doctor tomorrow so that she can explain how she feels, to him. I know I'm worrying myself sick over her.
Enjoy your gammon, potaoes and veg, especially your trifle.
Thinking of all our friends on here. Speak to you all later.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Ahhh Jean bless him. I bet his nose will feel the cold now, without the tash he's got nothing to catch the drips with. ;-) The walking will come in time. He has been sooo poorly for so long, it's not surprising his legs won't work for him yet. The physio's will soon get him back on his feet, and then watch out as he will be chasing you all over the house. The news gets better every day Jean, and I can't tell you how pleased I am for you all. Enjoy a nice cup of tea and something to eat, to keep your strength up.
Sallie, I am sorry to hear that Jennie has not been to good today again. Lets hope the doctor will sort her out as soon as possible.She's suffered enough just lately.((((((((((((BIG HUGS FOR JENNIE))))))))))) My grandaughters boyfriend was rushed back into hospital yesterday. His Crohns is really bad at the moment, and he's got to have an emergency scan tomorrow, as they think he has a bad infection in the bowel yet again. People who don't suffer with bowel problems, can never know how poorly it can make a person feel, do they.
Bye for now girls. Love Mo xxx

Thank you MO Sallie and Jean
We are still waiting for the hospitals, just observing at present, so not in a bad place. Dad needs a "procedure" tomorrow to do with his heart, after having major surgery 2 years ago. Mum is the diabetes, probably stress related and dementia which leaves her(and us) confused and she was lost back 20 years or more yesterday still in her job when she retired 20 years ago.
The weather isn't helping it is so cold, damp and miserable here today.
Still I have finished a jumper towards my stock to send to Bulgaria in the Autumn. Keeping busy.
Tomorrow will be a better day Linda :-) <3

I did mean to come on here earlier. Trouble is, it has been raining all day and the sound of rain sens me to sleep (well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!). It really has been raining all day. Managed to go to the local shop to get some milk only £1 for 2 litres.
Also done some ironing, now just need to put it away. Felt quite weak and wobbley after doing a batch of ironing, so needed to sit down. Then I went to sleep!! Oh well, it is better sleeping at unexpected times than not being able to sleep at all.
It all went well when I met my sister on Friday to pick my frames. We went for lunch afterwards, then for a tour of the Charity shops. I was very good and only bought a pair of book-ends for the grandsons bedroom.
The assistants at the opticians are quite good. Although they don't say, "They look terrible" they do throw me a doutful look and say "you look better in the other ones"
Of to have something to eat as the bleeper has just gone to say that my rice is ready. I am having a lazy meal, boiled rice and tinned chilli con carne.
Linda, take care of yourself. Love and hugs to Jennie, I hope that she soon feels well enough to eat.
Great news that Jeff is able to talk. Jean you MUST take a photo of him sans moustache. Tess

Jean, pleased that Jeff is getting better each day. Good to know that he is eating so that he can regain his strength. I'm sure that he looks so different without his tach, although he might decide to let it grow back when he gets home.
Tess, we've had heavy rain here all day, I think it has stopped now though. It's also been cold for this time of the year, and had to have the fire on, as it's a bit chilly to sit in the living room without some heat. This is Flaming June.lol!!
How long do you have to wait before your new glasses are ready?
Linda, good luck to your dad for tomorrow. Hope all goes well for him.
Mo. is it your 19 year old granddaughter's boyfriend that has Chrohn's?
I hope that he will soon feel a lot better. As you know it isn't just the pain that comes with Crohn's, but also the embarrassment too. It's bad enough when people are older, but even worse for young people.
Jennie goes to see the IBD nurse at the hospital on Thursday, so hope she will get something sorted for her, although Jennie hasn't got much faith in her, I'm sorry to say. We shall wait and see.
Joyce, hope that both you and Jan are feeling a bit better today. Thinking about you both.
Huia, how are things with you? Hope you are alright.
Marie, hope that your family are starting to get over the flu, and that you are alright yourself.
Caz, thinking about you and hoping that you are starting to recover from your fall.
Jude, hope that you are able to get back onto GR soon. I don't know what they're trying to do.
Hope Ann and Liz will get better weather than we have had today.
Well ladies, I'll say goodnight now, speak to you all tomorrow.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hello all.
I had a busy day yesterday. I went to visit my sister again over on the other side of the harbour (a bit over an hour to drive there). I took some things she left here 2 yrs ago, plus a photo I printed that dad took back in 1939. After lunch I went to see Phil again. I got a little lost on the way and started going the wrong way round a roundabout! It was rather confusing as although there was a sign saying roundabout it had lots of roads going everywhere and I couldnt see over the top and there was no indication of which way I should go. I realised I was going the wrong way when a car came round the bend on my side! Luckily she managed to avoid me and as it was not a busy roundabout I was able to do a U-turn and go the right way.
Phil was fairly alert and talking a bit.
Today I will be working in the Hospice shop again. I had a day off last Monday as it was Queens birthday in NZ.
Huia.

Off to see my parents this afternoon, both are in different hospitals, but I won't have much chance to see them with hubbies shift working. They both seem stable, if not well. Will try to update you all later.
Managed to cut the grass yesterday evening after all the rain on Sunday

Hi there everyone. Just a quickie, it's taken me ages to get back onto the site tonight. I posted earlier,and when I wanted to submit it, the darn page went,and I got the usual message, site under repair. Really fed up of all this arn't you.
Jean, I am pleased to hear that the flowers are still looking o.k. I will check on Caz's thread in a minute, re your update on Jeff. Well thats if I can stay on here long enough.
Linda, I hope that you found mum and dad a little better today. At least once you have seen them, you can hopefully rest easier. Did they do the tests on dad that they said they were going to do.
Huia it sounds like you need a Sat Nav in your car. Mind you, you cant always rely on them. We were going to visit our son, at a hospital we had never been to before, but somehow we ended up at the crematorium. Not exactly a good place to end up at when our son was so unwell. lol
Sylvia, you be careful round that chainsaw. If your OH starts swinging it about, run like hell. ;-) Not long now till you see M.J. ((((((((Big hugs for him from me))))))))))))))
I wonder where Sallie is tonight. I hope alls well with her and Alun.

Hi Everyone,
Mo, sorry but I just had to smile when you said about the Sat Nav. Something like that would happen to us if we used a Sat Nav.....Alun won't have one, he says he would prefer to rely on maps. Not that we can always find where we are supposed to be going using thoselol!!!
I did a silly thing today, I really think I'm losing it.....I made a casserole for our dinner tonight, nice and easy, just put it all in a dish together, which I did, all that is except the stock.LOL!! Just as well I decided a bit later on to give it a stir, and I couldn't understand why it was dry and then the penny dropped. Anyway I added the stock, and the casserole was lovely.
Sylvia, hope that everything will be alright at the cabin and that both you and OH will enjoy a nice peaceful time there.
Jean, glad to hear that Jeff is still improving. As you say he doesn't realise how ill he's been, so it's going to take a good while to regain his strength . Hope Debra is alright. When does she get her exam results? Also hope that your vertigo is better, and that you are able to rest and relax more now.
Jennie is slowly getting better, thank you. but she feels very weak and she isn't eating much at all. I think that might be because of the antibiotics. She finishes the last lot on Thursday, so hopefully she'll start to to get her appetite back then. She also goes to see the IBD nurse at the hospital on Thursday afternoon, so will have to wait and see how she gets on.
Linda, did you manage to go and see both your parents. I hope that things are no worse with either of them.
Huia, glad to hear that Phil was a bit brighter when you visited him this time.
Thinking of all our friends on here and hope that Joyce and Caz are both feeling a bit better.
~~~~~~~to Marie, Tess and to all or friends.
Well ladies, speak to you all tomorrow.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx
This afternoon I joined GR's Band of Fallen Women :-D ! I went to town to buy a telephone which is supposed to be hearing aid compatible. Huh, chance would be a fine thing :-0. I managed to fall over due to a bad bit of footpath and had to ask a man to help me to my feet.
Tomorrow afternoon I have an appointment with the hearing people so I will take both my phones and will ask them what I am doing wrong. Or is it my aids. I would be better off removing them to talk on the phone. If it cant be sorted, I want my money back!! Another thing, I had trouble hearing the young man who served me, even though we were facing each other and there was only the width of the counter between us. Definitely something wrong.
Huia.
Here I am at 3.32 a.m. I slept for almost 4 hours but my grazed knee is too sore to sleep on my tummy as I usually do, and I have a rotten cold, something I havent had for several years now, so couldnt get back to sleep. I have taken a couple of panadol+codeine tablets in the hopes they will move the headache and let me sleep again, although the stuffed nose is also a problem. Maybe I will use the eucalyptus inhalant before I go back to bed.
Oh Huia,you are in the wars love arn't you, bless ya cotton socks. If you have damaged yourself, get a good lawyer, and sue the backside of the people /authority responsible for the uneven footpath. It seemed funny to read that you posted at 3.32 a.m over there, and your posting received on this side of the world is 4.35 p.m.
Sallie, did you get the photo I sent you. I don't know what we are going to do with you Sallie. Fancy putting the casserole in without any stock. Thank goodness Jennie is on the mend, give her a hug from me. How is Richards job going now. Is he working closer to where he lives. My son is still about an hours drive away from home, and that is not to bad, as long as we don't get the snow, that shuts down the roads out from the area he works in, like it did last year. Even the trains couldn't get through.
be back soon someones at the door.
