Caz, our orchids are very small, but certainly beautiful or interesting in the close-up shots. It is my husband with me by the plane. The pilot took the photo for us.
Jean has looked at my photos and left a comment so she is relaxing, I presume. Take care of yourself, Jean.
Ann, I will have to go and have another look at your site now.
Huia.

Hi all xxx
well, that's the mammogram over for another year! They have a new machine ...... fully digitised, all hooked up to a screen, so they can check immediately and know whether they need to re-take anything
I was told I could get dressed and leave .................... on my way out of the door, I was called back. They had to double check the new pictures with my previous files before I could leave!
The machine did seem to squish a bit more even than older machines .... so I was a bit sore yesterday evening.
Now to make an appointment to see the doctor in 2 - 3 weeks (depending on when I hae the time :-)) to get the result.
Hopefully it will just be "she has to come back next year"!
Hope you are all well.

Good evening everyone. Ooh Sylvia, you have made me go cold all over. The new machine sounds like a brilliant piece of technology. But it doesn't sound like that it will shorten the wait for results though. But I suppose if anything really nasty shows up, they will be able to react quicker than they normally do, even though the timing for that is not to bad is it. But, I bet it frightened the life out of you, when they called you back, to check your last result. I know I would have had to change my undies after a shock like that. lol
How fantastic that your OH was able to find his grt grt grandparents graves. It somehow makes you feel closer to them, doesn't it. I know when Shelly sent me the photo's of my grandparents graves, I cried my eyes out. Especially seeing their names on the graves. I knew exactly the dates of their deaths, but could not find out where they were buried. I was only six years old when they passed, and my mum never ever spoke to me about them. It was as if they never existed, so I was over the moon to find out their final resting place.
I hope you are all well over there in Canada. Whats your weather like at the moment.?
No news tonight from our Jean. I hope and pray that Jeff is improving. ((((((((((((((((((HUGS FOR THEM ALL.))))))))))))))))
Well girls, I will say goodnight god bless you all. Love and best wishes Mo xxx

Hello Girls,
Wonderful news about Jeff. Oh Jean I'm so pleased for you all. Still sending you all lots of positive thoughts.
Joyce still can't get onto GR, so she has asked me if I could let you all know, that she is going to be a greatgrandmother of twins, so that will be nine greatgrandchildren in all.
Sylvia, glad that your mammogram went well and that the results will be good when you get them.
It's late now, so I'll speak to you all tomorrow.
Goodnight girls.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Caz, your comment isnt on my blog, but Ann's is, also Jean's. I tried to add a comment to Ann's but like you I couldnt seem to add it, so join the 'no comment' club!
Ann, I love the photo that dad took of the ferry. You can just about see every drop of water. I had an enlargement done for the owner of tearooms by the bridge which replaced the ferry, as he said that everybody spoke of the ferry but nobody had photos of it. I think his camera was probably a folding Kodak, but as I was only 3 at the time I couldnt say for sure.
The orchid you admire is probably no bigger than my thumbnail but it is certainly pretty in the close-up. Phil took the photo about 20 yrs ago. I love taking close-ups of things. I can get to within 1cm of them with my digital camera.
Jean, thank you for your comments on my site. I am glad you are taking time out from your worries to look at it.
It is a long weekend for us here in NZ as we celebrate the Queens birthday on Monday. The weather is wet and windy, so I will not be going anywhere as there are enough accidents on the roads at the best of times in holiday weekends, although if the weather isnt too bad tomorrow (Sunday) I might visit my sister, and possibly visit Phil on Monday morning, but Friday afternoon and Saturday morning the traffic is usually heavy as people head off for the long weekend, and Monday afternoon it is heavy again as they head home. I prefer to keep out of it, after all I dont need to add to the crowds.

Huia I'm glad you couldn't add either, I don't feel so daft now. I'm not very good with computers, just what I know how to do like my photos. I'm very surprised at the size of the orchid, didn't know they grew so small but I bet it is lovely. Sylvia I am cringing at the thought of the mammogram, I don't have them now I am over a certain age but they always hurt me with being a bit big up top, hope your results come back ok.
Caz xx

Hello to you all, It is wet and cold here now, it wasn't to bad this morning so I managed to get some washing done, I cleaned out my cupboard in the laundry I don't expect it to stay that way for long, it never does.I then went out and cleaned out my shed it was in a mess, got that done and looking good. I also did some weeding in the garden & planted some more bulbs.
I finished up at 4 pm just as it started raining, went inside and had a warm shower got dressed dried my hair. Drove over to Barbara's to baby sit the girl's so Barbara could go to her Zumba class.
It is so good to hear that Jeff is improving, great news.
I am rather tired so will close , Love & Hugs <3 :-) Marie :-D

Morning Everyone,
Just a quick look in to see how you all are.
Marie, you have been very busy, you must be shattered. I'm not sure if you've already told us, but what is Zumba class? Sorry to act a bit thick! Call it old age.
Caz, read on your thread for Jeff, that Phil went out this morning and bought an air conditioning unit for you. I'm sure you will love it, as I know I would. As I've got older, I hate the really cold weather, which I never minded when I was younger, but I've never liked and still don't like it too hot. It makes me feel ill, so have never been one to sit out and sunbathe, With me being fair skinned I've always looked for the shade to sit in while out on a sunny day. I think that over the years some people , just because they loved to sit in ithe sun have thought that I was a miserable old so and so.lol!!
Well, girls I'll speak to you all later on. Take care.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Huia I thought you would be able to add comments to my blog because you have a blog of your own. I think I had to register on your blog before I could add though. Jean has no trouble adding on my blog and she doesn't have one of her own. Maybe if you can see how to register you will be able to add. :-)
I bet the enlarged photo is great in situ, interesting for people.

Hi Sallie it isn't set up yet but would you know it the weather has turned cool, bliss. I never sat out in the sun because I didn't like it, nor the heat, but I am thankful now because I have hardly any wrinkles and at nearer 70 than 60 I'm pleased I never sat out. I couldn't have stood another day like yesterday, at 85 it was much too hot and I ended up feeling ill at teatime. Marie, I have heard of Zumba dancing but what exactly is it?
Love Caz xx

Hello everyone, i hope that i am writing this on the right thread. Dutch (Joyce) said to reply on Mo,s Thread. I would firstly like to apologize for not thanking everyone that sent their thoughts and very best to me. I have never added to this thread before, so just as a starting point for me i will tell you all that one of the nicest things in life for me are flowers and when i feel down the one thing that gives me a lift is flowers. I am glad to see that Jeans husband Jeff is on the way to recovery again. Y/Caz great to hear that you are keeping well. Liz (Purple) miss your tales of how your garden is this year.
Love Betty.(Formerly Thistledown/Lily)

Hi all xx
it's a lovely sunny warm day today!
It really feels as if summer might be here ........... after the second coldest April and May on record (also the wettest!).
Caz ................... I think I'm older than you, over 70, but they won't ever let me go. I'll have to continue having the squish until I am completely unable to get to the clinic and stand up at the machine!
I'm still not completely in the clear ............... the radiologist still has to do the full determination to make sure there is nothing there. If I don't get a phone call from the clinic by Wednesday, then I will really breathe easy! I have an appointment at my family doctor on June 23 to get the result.
I know I have one cyst that they have been watching since about 2006 ...........and I think this is why they wanted me to hang around for a little longer on Thursday. To check that against the older files, and to see whether they needed to re-take an xray to make it clearer.
I can tell you that the worst squish I've ever had done was when they called me back in 2008 to re-check that cyst. They were 97% sure that it was a cyst, but wanted to be at least 99% certain, as there was something slightly different from the previous year's xray.
It's just behind the nipple, and they therefore only squished about 2-3" instead of the whole.
and they took about 6
I was bruised for days after
'nuff!!
I was going to go downtown this afternoon and do a little shopping ............... but then I realised it was the Stanley Cup Final.
This is ice hockey, and Vancovuer's team is in the finals for the first time in its 40 year history.
Think FA Cup Final, or European Cup Final, or possibly even World Cup of Soccer, only played as best of 7 games
think of 2 teams, one not having won at all in 40 years, the other not having won the Cup for 38 years.
It's bedlam!
The other team is from Boston. They play 2 games here, 2 games in Boston, 1 game here, 1 game in Boston, and finally the last game here (if needed).
The city has closed a couple of downtown streets, huge screen tvs have been installed outside, and crowds will start collecting by about 1 pm (start time is 5 pm) to watch outside in the sun!.
Crowds actually watch games in the last round outside in the rain!
Needless to say, I did not go downtown! One of the street closures and tv was exactly where I wanted to go!
