Mo, my son lives about 3 hours away in Rotorua and the visit for my jab will be on a Wednesday. My daughter also works and wouldnt be able to take time off. My bro in law lives on North Shore, more than an hour away. I will see if a neighbour can do it, otherwise I will get a taxi. There is also a 'Driving Miss Daisy' service, but I think it has to be pre-booked, and I am not sure when it will be. A friend had some man drive her to Auckland regularly to her specialist so I can ask her about him. The trouble is that I am so out-of -the-way here. I am sure I will be ok. I am a tough old bird.
The moles are ok as long as I dont scratch them. I slept fine last night. I usually sleep on my tummy anyway.

Hi all xxx
I missed saying have a good trip to Ann & T
If you look in ..... I hope you have a safe trip, and a wonderful holiday xxxx
Huia .............. were those moles cut out or frozen off?
If they were excised, and a stitch or two put in, do please be very careful how you move around.
I had a mole cut out about 3 years ago, 3 stitches in, left in for 2 weeks, and told to be careful that I didn't stretch my back. I was very good ......... but then I reached into the oven the evening after they had been removed. The cut had split open by the time I got into bed (that was apparently the last straw!). There was the most agonizing pain, that left me breathless and breathing very carefully for about 30 minutes before I felt able to make any kind of move, which is when I discovered it was bleeding badly. I had to wake OH to put a dressing on it.
By the time I got into see the doctor early next afternoon, there was a slight infection at the bottom of the excision, they wouldn't stitch it until that healed ................. it took literally weeks to get it clean of infection. I had to go see the doctor once a day for about a week, then it dropped to once a week and OH had to clean it with a special antiseptic and put on special cream, followed by a dressing, at least once a day. By the time the infection had cleared up, the excision had started to heal from the bottom up, and they couldn't stitich it ....... so instead of a small neat scar, I have one that is about twice as wide as it should be.
Fortunately, I'm not into swimsuits or no-back tops!
Apparently your back is very slow to heal because there is not actually much muscle there.
I'd hate to have anyone else go through what I went through ......... especially as you have no-one to help you.
The last day of March was lovely ... sunny and warm
The first day of April was wet and grey!
Take care everyone xxxx

Sylvia, they sprayed the moles with liquid nitrogen, I think it is. It takes about 2 weeks for them to drop off, unless I forget myself and scratch an itch with a back scratcher! No, I dont want to go through what you went through, so I must hide my back scratcher just in case.

I just re-read back, and realised that you had said "frozen" them off.
Doh!
I was told that things on the back take longer to heal that elsewhere on the body ................. one reason being that the lack of muscle means that there is also a lack of blood supply there.
Don't know how true that is.
So, please hide the back scratcher!!!
For MO and Sallie ................... I'm well, just been a little busy.

Back from my busy day on Thursday. I had been to a coggege in the city centre where I had my hair cut short (which is what I requested).
I also said that i wanted something a little different, so now have my right ear on display (its shouting to people going by "I'm right 'ear!").
I also have a slanted fringe, i.e. longer on the left side.
Then I went to the Library, it was just not a straightforward transaction, but I did manage to come away with a frre book! (but none of the books I wanted for the greaders group).
Yesterday I was still tired, I received a death cert. in the post, in the morning, for my great,great,great,great-grandmother. (She died in 1842). So was encouraged to spend some time updating my tree. Was actually able to find some info on Ancestry, which had been hiding from me previously. This was due in part to some corrections made by some kind, hard-working people. Thank-you, whoever you are.
Huia, I hope all goes well with your moles.
Sallie, enjoy yourself tomorrow, treat yourself to a little pampering. It wil be lovely, not having a Sunday roast to cook. I will be on my own too, but like at Christmas, I am quite looking forward to it.
After quite a few years living on my own, my son is back here part-time because of the work situation. He will now be with his own family for a few days, so I have my home to myself again.
It has been nice enough today to sit out in the garden for a while. I hope the weather is treating you kindly in other parts of the world.
Jean, Cazz, Joyce and Jan, I hope that you all feel a lot better soon. Will be thinking of you all

Good evening ladies.
Tess, your haircut sounds nice, really modern. What colour is your hair love. Mine is Grey/Blonde, more Grey than Blonde I must admit. Like you, I always keep my hair short. I find it much easier to manage that way. No blow drying, or perming for me, not like a few years ago, when I would not go out the door unless my hair was perfect, and my make up was on. These days, it's wash and go for me, and I can't remember the last time I bought make up. The only time I wear make up, is if we are going to a special do.
Huia, you may be... as you put it, a tough old bird, but it is nice to have someone to rely on in times of need. I hope you find someone kind enough to help you out. It's pleasing to hear that you had a decent nights sleep though.
Oh my word Sylvia, your experience with the removal of the warts, sounds like it was painful. I suppose I was lucky, when I had the skin tags, and moles removed, suffering no after affects.
Ladies, I hope everyone has a pleasant mothers day. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi Girls,
Tess, pleased that you have received the correct death certificate at last and were able to update your tree.
We can't find a death for one of Alun's grt. grt. grandfathers, it isn't as though he had one of the common surnames either. but after the 1881 census we can't find any trace of him. So it looks as though we'll have to keep trying and hope that on day we'll find the information we need.
Alun and I had a pleasant afternoon out at the Garden Centre in Little Eaton a place not too far away from where we live. It's a lovely garden centre selling lots of different things including craft stuff, so I was a very happy bunny. lol!! I even managed to buy two Christmas pressies....just got to remember nearer Christmas, that I have them.lol!
I wonder where our Mo is today, maybe she has been taken out for a meal for Mothers Day, by one of her family.
Jean. Caz., Joyce and Jan, I hope that you have all had a better day today. Still thinking about you all and sending lots of positive thoughts and hugs.
Sylvia, glad to hear that you are alright. The trouble with having lovely sunny and bright days, it shows up the jobs that need doing about the house. I should have stayed in this afternoon and done some, instead of going off to Little Eaton.lol!.
Marie, hope your leg is better, and that you are now able to get out and about.
Huia, hope you feel alright after having your moles burnt off, and that you have been able to get comfortabe when you lie down.
Ann, if you're looking in, hope you and T had a good journey to Tenerife. Enjoy yourselves and take care.
Bye for now everyone, speak to you all soon.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hello all.
We put our clocks back an hour last night, so it is now not quite 8 a.m. I had a very good sleep, the moles arent bothering me, but then I usually sleep on my tummy these days.
I have been busy looking at censuses, trying to follow my gt gt grandparents siblings and their descendents. It is most frustrating when I cant find them, even though I allow for variables in their names. Possibly some of them emigrated. I do check for their deaths.
It is a lovely sunny morning so I think I might go for a walk before the forecast rain comes. I am hoping to lose a little more weight.
Huia.

I do hope things get better for Joyce Jan and also Caz they have had such a hard time this year. Hello Girls. I trust all of us who are celebrating mothers day, have had an enjoyable day. Once again this year, I have been spoilt rotten by my children. Two bouquets, two boxes of chocolates, a bath variety pack from the Body Shop, and a beautiful book mark.
Sallie and Huia, it's so frustrating not being able to find family members, on these sites. I still cant find my grandfathers family on my mums side of the family, and my G.G.Grandfather on my dads side. If only everyone had been born in this country, it would have made things much simpler. But grandmother being born at sea, near Ceylon, and grandad coming over from Belgium, has not helped in my search. I think grandad must have been Jewish, as during the war he had to report to the police every week. And he altered the spelling of his surname. Oh such a mystery, that I would love to have been able to unravel.
Well girls, take care of yourselves, I will speak to you tomorrow. Best wishes to one and all. Love Mo xxx 6.05 p.m Sunday evening.

Hello Girls,
Just a quick look in. as I'm waiting for Alun to get back from M R show at Sheffield.
Heard from Joyce this afternoon, she was so upset, what with the pain she is in, and worrying about her family. I felt so helpless, just wish there was something I could do to help her. I think she felt a bit better by the end of our conversation, as we had a couple of laughs about our ancestors.
Caz, still isn't very well either, so I hope she'll feel a little bit more comfortable soon. As with Joyce, I wish there was something I could do to help her too.
I have to go now, Alun's just arrived home, so better get him something to eat.
Speak to you all tomorrow.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Wakey wakey, rise and shine.
I called in at the docs before lunch but the flu vaccine has not come in. I think they are waiting for a shipment from overseas. I then went to the Hospice shop, and I had a helper today. It was her first day. It was much better having somebody to chat to in quiet moments. I hadnt enjoyed being on my own behind the counter the last 2 weeks.
When I came home I looked up in my garden encyclopaedia a plant which they had for sale, called piggy-back plant. It is Tolmiea menzesii, a member of the saxifrage family. I copied the page so I can take it in next time I am in town. It gives details of the conditions it likes. I must dig up and take in some of my Scilla peruviana bulbs.
We took quite a bit of money again this afternoon. It is quite a good feeling, all for the cancer Hospice.

Hi Girls.
It's very quiet on here, only Huia has been on here so far today.
Huia, nice to hear from you. I'm sure it was good to have someone for company in the shop today....the time drags when you are on your own during the quiet times, and I'm sure that when it's busy, you are also glad to have another pair of hands to help you.
It's a good idea selling plants at the shop, I'm not sure if they sell them at the charity shops here in the UK.
It's a shame the doctors still haven't had the flu vaccine in yet, it's a pity they couldn't ring you to let you know when they receive it.
Mo, hope all is well with you and your family. Have you got a darts match tonight or have the matches finished now?
Hope you had a lovely Mothers Day, yesterday, and had some nice cards and pressies.
Jennie hasn't been very well over the last couple of days, so I'm just hoping that it isn't the start of a flare up. She is due to see the nurse at the hospital on Wednesday, for her usual check up, so we'll have to wait and see.
Caz, Joyce and Jean hope you are feeling a bit better today.
Sylvia, hope you and your family are all okay. Are you having some nice spring weather now? It's a wet and miserable day here, I was hoping to dry some washing, but it looks as though that's a big NO, for today. Oh well there's always tomorrow.lol!!
Marie, hope your leg is better, so that you have been able to get some gardening done over the last couple of days.
Tess, you sound as though you are really with it with your new hairstyle. I'm sure it looks very nice. Did you enjoy a nice peaceful Mothers Day, yesterday?
I had a nice quiet day on my own, apart from Jennie and Michael popping in to see me, it was just a quick visit, because of Jennie being poorly. I was pleased to see them, but because Jennie didn't look well at all, I felt that she should have stayed at home, as I would have understood perfectly.
I've got a couple of things to do now, so I'll probably look in later on.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Ello, Ello,Ello me lovelies.
Huia, how great that they allowed you to train the new lady up. It shows that they have great faith in you love. It can be very boring being on your own in the shop can't it, especially if customers are sparce. And at least one of you can make a cuppa, whilst the other looks after the shop. You can gas away to your hearts content, and the company will do yoy good.
Oh Sallie, I am sorry to hear that Jennie is not to good at the moment. I pray to god it's not going to cause another flare up for her. She has been getting along so nicely recently, and does not need a set back like this, bless her. Yes honey we have got darts tonight, but if last week is anything to go by, we will probably be the losers again. Please lord let me be wrong, but I have got a feeling in my waters, that I may be right.
Roly and I went into Maidstone shopping today. Gosh we have not been there in ages, and we were so surprised at just how many businesses had closed down. But I was treated by Roly to four new tops. I wanted a couple of jumpers, because the weather is not really good enough for summer wear just yet. But I ended up with one jumper, one blouse, and two thinner long sleeved tops. You watch our weather change now, I will probably being sweating buckets by this time next week.
Marie, it's good to hear that your knee is improving slowly. But please, don't overdo things, like the gardening. Don't worry about the weeds, leave them till you are properly mobile. Unless you have got a hoe, to losen them, you don't want to have to bend to much, and start your knee of again. Us spring chickens have to look out for each other dontcha know. Hows the family keeping now.? My lot are all o.k at the moment, (touch wood ). My son is of to Scotland on Friday, to visit S's family, before Lilly gets any bigger. Lilly's great grandparents are longing to see her again. But I'm being selfish, I wont see her for ten days, boo hoo.
I hope that Sylvia,Caz, Joyce, Tess,Ann, and Liz if she's looking in are well.
And special ((((((((((BIG HUGS FOR JEAN)))))))))).
Bye for now girls, love to all. Mo xxx

Hello all from Tenerife. Been having trouble with the wireless connection but hopefully it is fixed now. Weather is pleasant but not that warm so far, still about 18-20 degrees and Teidi still has quite a bit of snow on it.
Sorry your daughter is not so well Sallie, hope it turns out to be minor and that she is well again soon, hopefully it is not a flare up.

Thank you Ann and Mo for your concern and good wishes for Jennie. She is a little bit better today, so hopefully she won't get a flare up.
Ann, lovely to hear from you and hope that the weather gets a bit warmer for you. It's vey chilly here today, so it was back to wearing a coat when we went over to Jennie's this evening.
Let's hope you don't get anymore trouble with the wireless connection, as it's nice to hear from you while you're away. Enjoy yourselves and take care.
Mo, I'm sorry that your team lost last week, I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll win tonight.
It's a shame that so many shops have closed around the UK, in so many cities and towns like Maidstone.
Derby has two indoor markets, but so many of the stalls have closed in both of them, it's such a shame. It makes me feel sad that so many people have lost their livelihood.
Mo, I hope you are right about it getting warmer through the week.lol! It would be nice to have some more spring weather.
Well. I'll speak to you all tomorrow.

Hi all xx
Ann ............... lovely to hear that you had arrived safely in Tenerife. I'm sure it will warm up soon ..... although the weather is very strange all around the world!
I had my 6 monthly check-up and clean at the dentist's today, plus she took 4 xrays as I hadn't any taken for 2 years. All OK, have to go back in 6 months.
The weather is rotten here! It poured with rain all day today ............ I got really wet waiting for the buses to get to the dentists ............2 bus stops, neither with any shelter nearby.
As well, it didn't get above about 5C ....... so my winter sweaters are still in use!
The nearby mountains have had snow while we get the rain ......... they're very pleased because that means the ski season will last longer than usual!
Tomorrow, I have to go to physio, and OH goes to the dentist ...................... we're finally beginning to see the end of all the treatment that he has had done getting all the implants done. It might all be finsihed in another month!
Otherwise we are all well, and so far escaping any colds or flu! Fingers and toes all crossed after saying that!
take care everyone
