Huia how lovely that Phil was awake and talking and also took an interest in the fluffy dog. Joyce why did you think I wouldn't see your problems on here, it's no good saying you haven't told me because I know all about it. You tell me when we talk on the phone, and I know you better than you know yourself seemingly, we will talk about it tomorrow when I ring. Did the man come with the post and did he put it up or does Jan have to do it. I hope Jan gets over his flu soon, he sounds run down in fact you both could do with a good holiday but I know that's out of the question. Good to see you back on here Liz, wish I could get you away from there so you could get back on your feet. Got two cards to make and it takes me ages with my hands as they are so better go and start them. Hello to everyone else I haven't mentioned.

I forgot to say I had a letter from Jean, she is having a nice holiday and the weather is warm with not much rain at all. She says she took something on holiday she didn't want, lol, her vertigo, it is worse at night for some reason and the room goes round, must be awful. She ended up going to see a doctor who gave her some tablets so she is feeling better now it's nearly time to come home.

Hello my lovely friends. Liz, you know you are always welcome to come here, and scream your head of, about him indoors, any time you want to. We are here to help and give you support in any way that we can. It's good to hear you are still seeing the councellor, she obviously is helping you. I don't blame you for not wanting to go with Mr Misery to his son's place. You know that not only will you have to put up with his snorting all night, but that you would be left out in the cold by the lot of them. It is such a shame you have not been able to see the baby yet though. Will your son sit his driving test again soon, so that he doesn't lose the skill. It's probably nerves that are his major downfall, as we all know what pressure you are inder whilst taking the test.
Huia, for some unknown reason, I was under the impression you were still working at the hospice shop. How nice that Phil was more conversant at your last visit, and that he had some memory of working with the greyhounds.
Joyce you are a narna, you can yell and moan as much as you like on here. Thats what friends are for, to listen, and help as much as is possible, even though you may be miles away from us, you are close to our hearts. Both Caz and Jean know you better than any one of us,and Caz would strangle you, if you didn't tell her what was on your mind. If you have to, scream and shout at your doctor, to get some kind of help with your problems. You and Jan, just can't keep suffering as you do, as Caz has already said, you both need a good holiday, away from all the cares and woes, just the two of you, enjoying each others company.
Caz, thank you for the news on Jean. I just knew that something would crop up, and put a damper on their holiday. It seems to happen every time they manage to go away. But at least she can enjoy the last days of her holiday now. Take it easy doing your cards, and get as much rest as you can.
Bye for now girls, i'll be back before I go out for my grandaughters birthday meal tonight. Love Mo xxx

Hi Ladies,
Mo, hope you'll have nice meal out tonight and that you'll all enjoy yourselves, especially your granddaughter. Please wish her a very Happy 16th Birthday, from me.
I bet you felt very proud taking Lily out in her buggy the other day. And I'm sure that all the people you worked with made a big fuss of her, no wonder you couldn't get away. Sending her lots of hugs and kisses.xxxxx
You also did well with your Christmas present buying, you certainly got a bargain getting nine pressies for under twenty pounds....I think I'll have to go to Kent to do my Christmas shopping.LOL!!
Caz, lovely to see you posting and pleased to know that you are able to make a couple of cards, albeit slowly.....but you know the saying " slowly but surely ". I have a bit of a block on at the moment, I have four mens birthday cards to make and haven't got a clue what to do for them. Thanks for letting us know about Jean. That vertigo has to follow her everywhere.LOL! As you said, at least she's had a few better days since having the tablets off the doctor.
Joyce, you know you can come on here and have a moan or even scream your head off, we're all here for you. Although I agree with both Caz and Mo that you have to stop worrying too much about others and that both you and Jan need a good holiday together away from all the stress and worry.
I hope that both you and Jan will be able to see the doctor on Monday, if not, as soon as possible after.
I also think that it would be a good idea to go back to the lady that you were seeing before your daughter died. I'm sure that she would be able to help you a lot. But Joyce tell her everything, even if it's something that you think isn't important......she needs to know even the small things, to be able to help you. You'll probably wonder when she asks you about a certain thing, what it's got to do with your situation as it is now. But when you are at home on your own, it will suddenly hit you why she asked what she did. Then comes the most difficult part, coming to terms about what maybe causing the problems and coming to terms with it and doimg something about it. Joyce I know you can do it, because if I can and have , you cetainly can. All the worry and stress isn't helping with the cramp that you are suffering so badly from. Take care.
Ann, I hope you and T will have a good couple of days away.
Liz, it's nice to hear from you. We are all here for you when you want to talk. It's awful that you still haven't seen the baby, surely OH could have taken you to visit them, by now.
It's such a shame that your son is unhappy in his job, I hope that he will be able to get another one very soon. Not only will he be happier, but it would put your mind at rest too.
Sylvia, pleased that the colon test you had was negative, that's such a relief to know. I thought that MJ must be coming up to his first birthday, as you say the time just goes so quickly. He must be almost walking by now, if not already. Bless him. Sending him lots of hugs and kisses.xxxxxx
Huia, like Mo I thought that you were still working in the Charity shop. It will be nice to go back there, to have company of the people you work with and of course, the customers.
Lovely to hear that Phil was talking to you, and could remember about the greyhounds. That little red fluffy dog did some good, by you taking it for Phil. I wonder if sometimes you took something in, that it would spark a bit of his memory. It would be lovely for you, if it did. Take care.
Marie, I know you are probably still busy in the garden, but just wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you and your family. Happy gardening. Take care.
Well I'm going to cook our dinner now, so speak to you all soon.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hello ladies.
I was not a regular in the charity shop. I was on the list of relievers for stepping in if somebody else couldnt do their usual shift. I havent been called on for ages, so now I have a regular shift myself. I hope I can cope with once a week. It is hard work being on your feet for 4 hours. It is not quite so bad if I can walk around, but I find just standing is very tiring.

Hi Jean, pleased you had good journey home, nothing worse than travelling on the motorway in the pouring rain, it terrifies me. It's a shame that you suffered from vertigo, which spoiled what would have otherwise been a lovely week. So, you'll have to save your all your money now, so that you can buy lots of stash in October. Hope that J and D are both alright.
Alun and I went to Derby early this morning, we were there by ten to nine, so it was nice and quiet to start with, much easier to get what we wanted.
I'm going to try and get some cards done this afternoon, while Alun goes to help the other members of the model railway club to prepare for their show tomorrow. So with him being out all day tomorrow, I hope I can settle down to making cards.
Speak to you all soon.
Love, Sallie.xxx

I am trying to decide what I am going to do today. When I first got up I decided to go for a long walk, but now it looks as if it might be going to rain, so I might just have to walk briskly a few times round the outside of the house so that I am handy to shelter. Then I might set lots of mouse and rat traps. I left a banana skin on the kitchen bench last night and this morning it looks as if something has been chewing as much as possible from the inside of the skin. A couple of nights ago a small piece of soap vanished from the bathroom. Looks as if my problems arent over yet.

Hi all xxx
we have white stuff on the ground!
It turned very cold earlier in the week, because of an arctic outflow. Thursday night set a record low temperature for the date at -8C .............. but the wind chill made it feel as though it was -15C.
The various authorities opened up emergency shelters for the homeless ........ and the police can even use the Mental Health Act to take someone to hospital if the person refuses to go to shelter and the police believe he/she is at grave risk.
Now it has warmed up just a little bit, so the white stuff started falling!
we have a snow warning for tonight, with as much as 15 cm possible.
Poor poor plants!
We had a bit of luck yesterday ............. we won $1,000 on the numbers lottery!

Lucky you, Sylvia. We have never one that much on ours. It is usually only about $20 and that doesnt happen very often. If I win the 'big one' I will be taking a trip to England to meet all my GR friends, and relatives. I will probably travel one way via USA and Canada as I have relatives there too, and Australia the other way to meet other relatives. There are lots of other things I will do with the money too.
Well, I can dream, cant I? Cant go while Phil and the cat are still alive though.

Hi Girls,
Sylvia, well done to you and OH on your $1000 win on the lottery.
Huia, it would be great if you won the ' big one', just thinking how lovely it we could have a meet with all our friends, here and down under. It seems as though you are like us, the most we have ever won is £10, and that's only been a couple of times since the lottery started here in the UK.
Ann, it sounds as though you and T are enjoying yourselves at your daughter's. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and take care.
I'll speak to you all tomorrow.

Hello All, Marie here, Hi Liz good to see you on the post, that babe is growing shame you don't get to see her more often.
Well folks I have done something to my left knee and it is very painful however I am not complaining at least I am alive to feel it not like some of our aussie neighbours in New Zealand they are having a hard time with so many of their loved ones killed in the earth quake. I have checked on my friends and they all live in the North Island, so I was very relieved when they all emailed me. Joyce you are entitled to have a moan any time you like, as my daughter often say's "" Mum I think I must have killed a chinaman in a past life"" well Joyce I think you must have killed more than one, I hope that Jan's neice's leg is inproving, and that you are managing to get some more sleep. How lovely a new Grandchild for you and Jan.
Caz I hope you get good results from the blood tests when they happen.
Happy Birthday to MJ on the 9 th of March and Hello to you Sylvia , Have you had any Summer Yet?? we are going into our Autumn it is getting very cool at night.
Sallie I hope you are well also your Daughter and Alun. Ann I havent had time to look at your blog sorry
Mo you are busy, more painting you will be very pleased when it is finished I bet it will look nice. The family were busy in the garden on Saturday they went and got a load of bush rocks for the native garden, it is looking good but still not finished they will get some more next weekend and that should be all the edges done. I am not able to do a lot with this knee I am trying to rest it as much as I can.
Hi Huia, i hope you are well and that Phil is ok . How is the book going you will have to let me know what it is you are writing about, as I havent been able to keep up with the posts lately. How are you feeling have you managed to get rid of the itching and if so was it an allergy I will away as I am feelin rather hungry, Love and Hugs to you all. Well good evening friends. It's been rather hectic here, for the last few days, so I must aplogise for not being around.
Our grandaughters birthday meal, went well. But we wont go to that restuarant again, the food was not really to our liking. Plus there was an extra £17.00 service charge,10% extra, we were not very happy about that, especially as we hadn't like the food. But then it was our grandaughters choice, of the restuarant, and not ours. The rest of our family had praised the place to the hilt, and is was a new experience for us, but never ever again. The painting seems to be taking us forever. We were saying, when we were younger, we used to be up till 2 or 3 a.m decorating, just to get it finished whilst the children were in bed. But now, it's taking us old fogies for ever, and we have not finished one room yet, and still have the dining room and kitchen to do yet. Oh boy, ever started something you wished you hadn't.
Hello our lovely Jean. It's so good to have you back amongst us, we did miss you honey. Still when you go again in October, you will have internet connection, so there will be no excuse for not talking to us. If you don't I will sulk. Pleased to hear the weather was kind to you, but sad that the blessed Vertigo reared it's ugly head again. Back to normal again now for a while love.
I wonder if Ann and T have arrived home yet. It sounds like they have been having a great time with their family. It's so nice to have the opportunity to catch up with family.
Oh Huia, I can't believe that the darned rats are still around. It sounds like you had better put traps all over the house, to catch the blighters. They do love soft fruits, and peanut butter. Yours seems to have a fetish for banana's. They must be taking the soap to have a wash after they have finished their feast.
Sylvia, well done on your lovely win on the lottery, can you send some of your luck down the cyber hatch for me please. I do feel for the homeless people, when the temperatures drop so drastically. Thank goodness someone had the forethought to open some shelters for them. Did you get the threatened snow after all. It must have been bitterly cold over there.
Hi Marie. Did you do anything to put strain on your knee, to cause the pain. Mind you, it's so easy to twist yourself without realising it. Hows your veggies coming along. I hope you didn't lose to many when you had the heavy rain. I think you should jump on a plane and come over here and do my garden for me. Oooh I am getting so lazy in my old age, but maybe if we get some better weather, I will feel more like doing it.
I wonder what our Sallie has been up to today. I bet she has had the family for dinner again. One of these Sundays, I am going to get into the car, and travel to her house, just for my dinner, as she must be such a good cook, as the family go to her every sunday.
Sending love and ((((((((((((HUGS TO CAZ AND JOYCE)))))))))))))
Take care girls, love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi all
sorry that you didn't enjoy the food, Mo ................. was the extra charge because there were more than a certain number of you at the table? That often happens over here ..... there is usually a note on the menu that there will be a service charge of xx% for parties larger than a certain number.
Marie ...... sorry to hear you have a sore knee. Hope it improves soon.
We had snow yesteday afternoon, evening and overnight. It had stopped by the time we got up ..... about 5 cm or so here at the house. OH was shovelling the side walks and garden path at about 7:30am, before he had breakfast and had to leave for church!
It started to rain a couple of hours ago ..... now I think it is freezing again!
I seem to remember some of you asked if I had a photo of me before Christmas, and I forgot all about it.
We had a couple of pictures taken at a studio when we were over with J&M at Christmas, and I now have my copies, and have scanned them into the computer. If anyone wants to see, would you please send me your email address?
take care everyone

Good evening or should I say, good day to you Sylvia, I am never quite sure where I am time wise. You were right about the number of us at the meal Sylvia, we were thirteen at dinner, so thats why the service charge came into it. My daughters asked the waiter if he could deduct it from the bill, and give it to the staff, and this is what he did. We would have left him a decent tip anyway, but he got no extra's over the £17.00. I have sent you my e.mail addy, as I would love to have your photograph. It's going to be treacherous outside for you both,if it continues to freeze, so stay safe, and inside in the warm. I am going to my bed now, so I will say goodnight god bless, speak to you again soon. Love Mo xxx
