Huia,it sounds like it was a lovely time had by all,at the Easter Party. It was lovely to read that Phil was awake and able to take part in the proceedings. Did you join in with the singing, and dancing. I bet that if you did it probably jolted Phil's memeory, back to the good times you shared. Jean, you get along and get your BP checked, before I come up there and smack your BTM,you naughty girl you. Luvs ya really. Fingers crossed for you for the 15th,for your Glaucoma test. We have a lovely day here today. I have managed to get two lines off bedding, washed and dried. Just waiting for the machine to finish, with the bath mats.

Hello Girls,
Huia, it looks as though the Easter Party went well--so pleased that Phil was awake and able to take part in the festivities. You usually find that there's too much food at any celebrations, I know after our 40th Wedding Anniversary there was loads of food left, and also after the evening do for Jennie and Michael's wedding. Michael's dad took some of the food home so that he could feed the wildlife in their garden.
Jean, thank you so much for the beautiful card that we received today, the post didn't arrive until 2-30p.m. I just can't get over how good it is, you are very clever--I wish we were living nearer each other, so that I could pick up a few tips from you. I hope that doesn't sound cheeky, as it isn't meant too. How are both J and D? Hope they are both well. I'll be thinking about you for the 15th, hoping that all goes well at the clinic.
Mo you are good, doing the two lines of washing today. Could you please send some of your energy to me, with a little bit of enthusiasm tucked in. I really must get myself get going again. Are you and Roly doing anything special for Easter? We are just staying at home, as we have a things to do, so hopefully can get them done while Alun is off for four days. I'm sure we'll have Jennie and Michael, as we usually do--it would be nice if Richard and Christie could come up for Easter, but they can't afford to. Both Alun and I were disappointed when they told us, as we haven't seen them since Christmas, but we understand the situation.
Love to Debbie, Julia, Ann, Liz, Marie, Sylvia and Marilyn.
Speak later. Love and best wishes. Sallie xxx

Sallie,I have packed a bag off energy up for you,I hope that it helps you, more than it has me today. I now feel absolutely cream crackered. I knew I should not have done so much, but it was getting on my nerves. We have both had this flipping virus thing, and I wanted to wash the germs out off all the bedding, and put another fresh lot off quilt covers on. The bedroom windows have been open wide all day,to get rid off the germs that may have been laying about. Like you we are not doing nothing grand over the weekend. So I may be on here a bit more,to amuse myself. lol See you tonight. Love Mo xxx

Hi, folks, I have been crafting all afternoon, glad you liked the card Sallie, I would love to be nearer to you it would be so nice to share our hobby, but we will have to manage Of course i will help you in any way I can, but I cheat a lot you know....lol... my decoupage is already done just pop the various parts out and stick them together, usually I fiddle with the card and add some sort of bling, Btw Have you seen the flexi peel offs, they are brilliant you can put them on any shape they are thinner than the straight ones and round a circle they look very proffesional... I got mine off Create and Craft, but I also got some of the craft site on e-bay...the only problem with decoupage is the postage cost, an ordinary stamp wont do, you need to take them to the p/o and they will tell you how much to send, I got some expanding envelopes especially for them....
well old mother riley you have been busy, I usually wait until summer is well and truly in, well I mean twice a year to change the bedding is enough ,don t you think? mind you we are probaly not as dirty as some folk. nudge...nudge ,,,wink,,wink... rofl.....xxxxxx
I sent some e-cards to Huia, and Marie, but dont know when or even if they see them...
Sylvia, I havent got your e-mail addy sorry but I do wish you a Happy Easter .....
Pie and mash for tea I think, J does it really well..... lol....
hugs for all our lovely friends (((((((((( X ))))))))) on here.....

I say saucy Jean,my old nan taught me well. The only difference between her and myself,is that nan would have the old copper boiler out, first thing on a Monday morning,to do the whites. And she would use the little bags off blue that you could buy back then. The scrubbing board, for grandads collars, and cuffs. And the mangle out in the yard. Before that didn't they have a poss,I am to young to remember that off course. lol These days,on goes the washing machine, and it does it all for us. But you cannot beat getting into nice clean bedding, can you.

Hi Ladies, just popping in to say "hi" and "goodbye". We are off on the boat tonight to the UK for 18 days and I will have no electronic equipment with me, so I will have to take some time to catch up with you all when we get back.
Our boat was due to leave here at 9pm, but it's delayed now til 1.30am, so we'll have to get the children into bed then wake them and hope they go back to sleep. The crossing is the 9½ hour slow journey. Yuck. I hate boats.
Our weather has been absolutely awful the last 2 days but today was glorious. All sailing has been disrupted and they are now trying to play catch up.
Driving up to Leeds from Portsmouth on Friday, then 2 weeks in Whitby from Saturday, so I am really looking forward to it.
Thanks for asking but my cold has nearly gone and I feel a lot better now.
Just quickly, Daniel did well in his race in Manchester a couple of weeks ago - he came 55th out of 397 boys who finished the run, so he was pleased with that. Last Saturday he won his race against Guernsey. No training now for 2 weeks, and then a race in North London- Barnet Copthall on April 24th once we get back home.
So I shall wish you all a lovely Easter - not too much chocolate, and I look forward to reading all the news/gossip when I am back. Take care.
Debbie xx

Hello all, from me on Good Friday morning. Yes, Jean I opened the email half an hour ago. I look at my emails at least once a day. I love that tune, and our choir has sung it in a concert.
Phil didnt really take part in the party. He kept trying to fall asleep, chin down on his knees. I kept waking him up. I did sing along with one or two of the songs, but didnt know them all, or didnt know the words. There is absolutely no sign of Phils memory stirring, even when he looks at me, which he rarely does these days.
I must get on and do some cleaning, the cobwebs are making it difficult to move around the house!

Jean, well that's two of you that's been busy today! Both you and Mo put me to shame, as I haven't done much at all. Although I have found and tried to download some stuff off the internet ready to make some cards. Anyway, I didn't make a good job of downloading, so Alun will do them when he gets back from the club, later on.
Mo, I can vaguely remember my Nan and her sister doing their washing, with the old copper, tub and scrubbing board, I an also remember the little blue bags. My mother then had an electric washer with a wringer, the women in the family all thought it was great, which I suppose it was for that time. When Alun and I first got married we had a twin-tub, I thought it was wonderful. I don't know how I'd manage without an automatic washer now!
Huia, did you get those cobwebs moved? If you did, I bet you are getting around a lot quicker now. Ha! Ha! Hope you have a nice Easter and that you'll have some nice weather.
I didn't realise that Debbie and family were going away for Easter, I knew they were going to Whitby at some time in the year, but not as soon as this. I hope they'll have a good holiday.
I'm going to make myself a cuppa now, I might see you all later.
Love, Sallie xxx

Well, I can now move around the kitchen, dining room and lounge without struggling to get free of the webs. I tried to install a cordless phone that I bought ages ago but I need a longer thing to go to the phone jack, as I want to sit it on top of the fridge. Alternatively a longer power lead. The only other option would be to put a little shelf in the corner above the door so both leads would reach their respective places, but above the door would not be so easy to reach the phone when I want to go walk-about. I might go into town tomorrow to see if I can get an extension for the phonejack cord as that is my preferred option. It doesnt need to be very long, only another half metre at the most.

Hello All, it is 2.20 pm on Good Friday I hope you are feeling better Mo, also Julie hopefully they may be able to help you now. Fancy me making a mistake & calling Jean( June ) I didnt know that I had.I have not received an email card from you Jun------ opps! Jean LOL you will have to try again Please. Sallie I hope you have cheered up, I have very clear memories of washing Day with the Copper and the blueo bags, they were called, that was the brand name, it was hard work trying to wring the sheets & towels Mum used to wait till Saturday when Dad was home to do the Linen as he was over 6ft. and very strong, my sister & I used to help with the washing on the weekend but only the smaller things . We also had a kerosine refridgerator and when it got over 100degrees F., it used to smoke then I would have to brush out the flue and restart it,we would then soak a large hessien bag and place it over the top of the Fridge. It helped. Marilyn must be home by now I hope she had a swell time. LiZ you are sounding a lot better good on you. Debbie I hope you have a great holiday. You are all so clever with your card making I am not in to crafts , my daughter does Quilting and I still Sew but usually only Curtains, bedspreads and even Blinds I dont like sewing fiddly things, I really love to be outside in the garden. I have been doing some practice on the Piano and a little voice practice. My daughter received a letter from the university on wednesday to say she had won a prize for the top student in Horticlture for the Distant Education field. she was very pleased she got a $100.00voucher to spend on books, which will be a help. It is pleasing to hear that Phil has been a little better.Huia I resigned from the Choir because I was disliking the cold at night and over here we do such a lot of practice in Winter, I dont really miss the choir I did miss the Quartet Singing and my friends. I hope I havent missed anyone, if i have Please forgive Love to you all Marie.

Good evening ladies. Huia, did you manage to get your extension jack for your phone sorted out today. I was sorry to read that Phil was not as as alert as he could have been,at the Easter Party. Hi Marie. Don't worry yourself about getting our Jeans name wrong, you should hear what I call her a times. (int that reet me duck Jean) I have never heard off a Kerosine refridgerator before, thats me learnt something today. I can remember my nan,and the family getting ice from the man that bought it round the houses,on a horse and cart. I think the closest we came to a fridge, back then, was the larder that had the cold shelf in it. What do you mean you don't do craft making. As far as I am concerned, making curtains and blinds and bedspreads,is a craft in itself. These days the furthest my sewing goes,is to sew a button on a garment, if it comes off. I used to be good when the children were young. Doing both knitting and sewing, but now I just buy what I need, ready made. Laziness really. Please give your daughter my congratulations,on winning the book vouchers. She has done herself and you proud. I think that everyone must have gone out for the day,as it is very quiet here today. I must go and make a nice cup off tea now,not long finished our dinner. As it's good friday,we had fish. Didn't have hot cross buns though, they give us indigestion nowadays. Sure sign off our digestive systems changing with age. Ann should be back from her holiday today. I hope she has had a good time. Bye for now. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi All,
Jean thanks for the PM, have sent you one back. Have you been making more cards today? I have some birthdays coming up in April and May, so I'm hoping to make them. I'll try and get Alun to send you some of the pictures of the cards I've made, I've asked him for a long while if he would send you and Ann some of the pictures of the Scrap pages I've done, but I'm still waiting.
Marie, well done to your daughter on being top student--she's doing really well. Please pass on my Congratulations. I'm afraid I'm not very good at singing, I sound like a 'cats chorus', it's a dreadful noise. Richard takes after Alun's father for music, he had lots of certificates that he passed over the years. Richard's degree is in music, the serious kind, when he was at school he started to learn to play the flute and then the piano--he'd really like to be able to play the cello, but at the moment he can't afford the lessons or buy a cello. Have a lovely Easter!
Mo, hope you and Roly are feeling better now. It's been a bit cold here today, with showers. Although it didn't stop Alun and I going to Derby, where I decided to have my hair washed, cut and blown dry, at long last I've managed to get my hair sorted out. So by the time I did that, then we went for a cuppa, had a look around the shops and called to see Jennie and Michael on our way home, I don't know where the day has gone.
Huia, did you manage to get the extention you needed for the phone? I hope you did and that it's all sorted now. Hope you find more alert when you visit him next. A Happy Easter!
Julia, I hope you are feeling better. When to you have to go to the hospital next? Jennie goes to Queens next week, she has an appointment with the IBD nurse. I hope that you both get on okay.
I hope that Debbie and her family have arrived safely in Whitby.
Not sure when Ann and Marilyn get home, hope they have a safe journey.
Well I'm going to have a nice cuppa now, so speak soon.
Love and best wishes to you all. Sallie xxx

Julia, I've just been reading your post on Eldricks thread. I love the account of your shopping trip this morning. I'm taking it that you mean the M-------s at Eastwood. You've had both Alun and I in stitches reading it, because knowing the store and what it can be like there, we can just imagine it.

Hi everyone
we used to call it Dolly Blue, I believe. Wasn't it made by Reckitt Coleman??
The weather today is incredible ......... more like November or December. Heavy rain and gale force winds! In fact, the wind has blown the rain away ................ and birds are flying sideways!!!
The ferries to Vancouver Island have been halted because it is too dangerous ........ one of the earlier sailings (8:30am) had to turn back because the bow doors to the car deck were damaged by the wind. The wind eased off a little just before lunch, but it's back in full force again, just from a slightly different direction.
Sole for dinner tonight ....... and toasted Hot Cross Buns for breakfast on Sunday morning (that's our tradition!).
Will have to spend quite a lot of time over the next few days finishing sweaters for MJB ................. they're all at the stage I hate, ie sewing up, front bands, buttons, etc!!
So if I'm missing, that's the reason
We leave on April 8, spend 10 days with daughter Catch the train in Halifax on April 19, and arrive home on April 24th. Probably will not have any access while we're away. Son-in-law always seems very reluctant to have anyone use his (ie, their!) computer, never asks if you would like to use it. And we're not bothering to take our laptop ...... too much trouble taking it through airport security, and it will be no use on the train anyway!
take care everyone

Hi Sylvia,I think you are right in Aussie it was just Rickett's and the Label said in big blue Letters BLUO. I know how you feel I usually get the jumpers done quickly but the sewing up is a pain & it take me some time simply because I dont like doing it. How is MBJ I bet he is putting on the weight. It is Easter Saturday, I used to always spend Easter at Church being in the Choir and also the organist but when I left Terry I was in a bad state &I havent returned to the church, as I associate it with all the bad times. I am not sure I will ever get over what he put us through and even after he died he has caused so much grief as he cut 2 of his daughters out of his will because they didn't want to associate with him.I am a catholic ,I now like to think of my self as a Christian and I do try to live up to that creed. ( mind you I dont always manage it) I hope you have a nice holiday, you do have a long journey, I find trains relaxing and I take a crossword puzzel this makes the time go faster.Enjoy your trip, sorry I missed you earlier regards Marie.
