I have just returned from footie and devastated is not the word! We spoke openly to the girls they tell us they want to complete the season and continue playing for Pelsall next season ~ fantastic providing the parents join in and do their bit and not leave it on one or two shoulders. However, I went to league to meet with them ~ several teams have now folded in ar age group ony 4 left ~ next season the league will not be providing a age group for us! They have invited us to join the Under 16's ~ problem is legally 3 of ar angelz can't play and the other seven will be at the lower age of whats already a very tough league. My Jo is one of the 3 ~ bearing mind this team came into life because of her and was build up around her! I cannot continue as chair for a team she is not allowed to play for and I wont stay around to watch my angelz fall apart! So in the unlikely event of a miracle ~ from 30th April we will be no more ~ I and 2 others established this team no grant no funding not a penny we built it to become whats lnown as the "friendliest n happiest" team in the league ~ we ar more than just a team!

Hi Mel, just been reading this & so sorry at the predicament this has left your Angels in.
I would suggest speaking to the parents of the other 7 players & ask them to carry the mantel of looking after the team. I'm sure that at least one, in the knowledge that the team will fold without their help. Will bring someone forward to run it. This maybe a tough league for them to compete in. But with 4 teams folding there should be enough surplus players to give them a full team & the experience for the younger players in this league should benefit them immensely.
This would then set aside the time you need. To help Jo to go forward into the next level & allow allow the Angels to continue playing.

All I do is get my boys there and support them and enjoy it. Don't really have to put any work into it. So I'd like to add my full support to Mel & her Angelz. My lads also stepped away from the basketball hoop long enough to say good luck (that is a feat in itself, drawing their attention away from the hoops!)
