We had snow last night but nowhere near as much as everyone around us and I love the snow!! Went to daughters yesterday to babysit and they have lots and lots, made the drive over there quite difficult as she lives in a very remote village and her house is up a very long lane with only 5 houses on it so the snow was still very deep on the roads.
I have made up all my birthday cards till the end of January so all crafting things have been packed away till after the New Year. I have ran out of ‘stock’ cards so will spend some time getting a few made up in the new year.

Have a lovely day

Anne

Hi, Girls,

I'm afraid I haven't been keeping up with this thread - I haven't been on GR recently, Burt I would like to thank everyone for the lovely cards arriving. They have been well admired.

Thank you Barbara for the calendar - it will be near my PC for easy reference. It's so pretty.

I hope that this cold weather is not causing anyone any problems. It's useful being retired as I can shoose whether to go out or not. It's not too bad here in Newcastle.

I wish everyone a good Christmas and a happy 2010

.Love Anne

Ladies, Just to let you know that Joan lost her father just before Christmas. I am sure we all send deepest sympathy to Joan and her family at this very difficult time.

My condolences to Joan, I am very sorry to hear that. I actually think I saw something on the board which I responded to but not sure.

Evening Ladies, I have just sent out an email regarding a member leaving the group, hope you all receive it OK.

It has been snowing here all day, suits me love the snow!!

Hope Sylvia is OK, sending her lots of love.

AnninGlos Report 6 Jan 2010 11:27

I received it thank you Jo, always a pity when somebody leaves us, but better that than drag on when they have lost interest I suppose.

Hope you are all tucked up in the warm with plenty of time for card making.

Jo Jo

Jo Jo Report 6 Jan 2010 11:47

Must admit I go through phases where I lose interest, but then I look at all the bits and pieces I have and realise that I must use some of them up, then I go out and buy more!!! I really do find it relaxing to sit and make cards and other crafty things.

Well it has snowed on and off and so now we have lots, the council has just decided to clear some of the road, we live on the main road between the villages, and it was very difficult first thing this morning for people to get to work as they could not get up the hill out of the village. Still we have nice blue skies coming over at the moment so looks like no more snow for a while. I know the children were hoping for more snow so that they would close the schools. When I was little immaterial of how bad the weather was they never closed the schools, only time they were closed was when the coke delivery did not arrive and there was no heating.

AnninGlos Report 6 Jan 2010 12:04

Our schools are closed Jo and yes we were the same can't ever remember the schools being closed because of snow.

I have been asked by Issy to post for her on here as she is unable to get on.

'Can I interest any of you who haven't yet tried ATC's to join us. We have a new subject every month. I co-ordinate the swaps. Depending on the number of people that take part we usually make between 4 and 6. You send your swaps to me by the 15th of the month with a self addressed stamped envelope and I will then forward the swaps to you. I have found that it is advisable to mark your envelopes 'Craft Samples' as we have had the odd occasion when the post has been opened and the contents have been lost. I will give you the list of subjects for the next three months as some of you like to send yours altogether.

As the weather is so bad at the moment I think we can extend the date to the 20th.

For those who are interested but haven't tried making ATC's Joanna Sheen has produced a double CD Rom which covers many subjects and it is on sale at the moment for £5 reduced from £14.99. I have ordered one for myself as I think it will be very useful.

If I have wet your appetite for trying ATC's can you please let me know as soon as you can if you would like to take part as we will need to know how many to make each month. Here are the suggestions for the next three months

January - Flowers - something to cheer us up in these cold days

February - Thank you

March - Get well

Love Issy xx'

So if you would like to join in please let Issy know and send them to her, thanks

Jo xx

Thanks for that Jo.. I don't think I will join as I already have so much to do with all the cards I make and also my scrapbooking, but I hope somebody else is interested. Unfortunately we seem to be very thin on the ground on GR and it begins to feel it is more of a FTF group. We haven't seen Jill or Sylvia for ages have we on here?

Jo Jo

Jo Jo Report 9 Jan 2010 16:35

Ann, there are very few that post on FTF, Christine and Jac are the main ones!! Haven't seen Jill or Sylvia, I know Jill is often on Facebook so assume she is OK, little worried about Sylvia though must be nearly 2 months since she posted, will send her an email and hope she or Johan pick it up.
Must admit I have struggle to do the ATC's and stopped doing them when I got the vertigo found them too fiddly but if I can find the time will have another go. Struggle to design cards so you can imagine the difficulty I have with them!!!

AnninGlos Report 9 Jan 2010 16:44

Shame people don't post because it is good to share ideas isn't it?

I did like your stitched Christmas card by the way Jo, I think that would take too long for me to do. Looked lovely though.
