Jenxx, and Tinky, hang in there, and keep trying,we're all in this together. Tina-sorry,it was Tina j who wrote about the Paul McKenna CD.
Penny,I haven't seen Paul McKenna's new book yet, with the tapping technique. It sounds interesting,I'll keep an eye out at our Aussie Borders store for it.
If anyone needs to tighten their tummy muscles to fit in their jeans etc. the Plank is an exercise that's performed parallel to the floor, just like you're going to do push-ups,except that you don't do the push-ups.You just hold the pose as long as you can, maybe 10,20 seconds, then come out of it.If you start to tremble or shake, come out of it.Do that 3-5 times each day, gradually holding the pose longer or doing it more times. If you get sore stomach muscles you'll know you are overdoing things, take it easy, build up slowly.Good luck!!
Best wishes everyone, Margot xx

Hi Tinky and everyone, hope you're all going well. I got weighed on Fri.-minor setback-have lost NOTHING-Zilch!! Oh well,it could have been worse,I might have gained. It's so true, you can fool yourself, but you can't fool those BXXXXX scales!!! Back to the drawing board, more exercise, smaller portions etc.We all know what to do!
Tina(I think it was, sorry if I have the wrong person) I've tried Paul McKenna's weight loss CD and book before, with success,so I'm back on a daily dose of much needed brain washing from him.The first thing I did after listening to the CD yesterday was to get out my Sugarella (saccharin) ,I can still hear him saying,'AVOID SUGAR!!" so that's the first easy step.He always gets me back on track, but I have to maintain listening to him.I always find him very relaxing too,and quite often fall asleep. It doesn't matter if you do fall asleep, the messages on the 2nd part of the CD are subliminal anyway, and are designed to go into your unconscious mind, so it's just a healthy form of brain-washing,to kick start you into healthy habits and sensible eating again.I'm also doing (almost) daily walking, the plank,a yoga exercise to tighten and tone my jelly belly, and working on the Ab-Pro which has never been used since we got it,until now. Well done to everyone who is trying to lose weight. If you don't lose weight, like me so far,use it as a wake up call to look at what you're doing, and change it. Everyone is different!
Good luck, Margot xx

Hi All
I did try the Paul McKenna book and CD a couple of years ago, and did lose some weight with it. I fell off the wagon when my mum was ill and never got back on it again though.
I am like that with all diets though - the first time I tried WW I lost loads, but once I put the weight on again I couldn't get into it a second time.
Anyway back to the CD - I used to listen to it in bed before I went to sleep - its relaxing and makes you feel good and positive. After a couple of goes at it I found that I was waking up suddenly at the same place each time with him teeling me it was all finished!! At first I thought that it wasn't doing me any good because I was sleeping through it, but I don't think I was, I think you relax almost into a trance. I think I might go and root out the CD again!
I have nothing to report yet - I only started yesterday - been pretty good with food and have done my Wii Fit both days. My arms are killing me now - level 2 boxing on Wii (6 minutes!) and painting the kitchen ceiling are taking their toll. Good luck everyone.

I last went on the Wii Fit a week ago to have a go at the balance things, and a few exercises, have to be careful with the exercises as I have osteoarthritis, so have been on the dance mat most everyday, which does burn calories, although not as many as I would like as I am only on beginner.I have not had any sweets, cakes for seven whole days. I am planning another go on the fit tomorrow and a weigh in, but I am scared cos if I havent lost anything I will get dejected and feel like going on a mad binge.
Good luck to everyone, may the lbs all fall off.

Tinky
Paul Mckenna has been on tv all week with "I Can make u thin" His method for not stress eating is to tap certain parts of your body. Perhaps u could get hold of his book to explain it better! Borders had it half price last week.

I forgot to say earlier, top tip for any ladies with a wii fit (or indeed men)
If you get on the rhythm boxing and imagine that the punchbag is your extremely troublesome ex, you can work up quite a sweat and no doubt burn off a few extra calories. And even if you don't lose any poundage, you feel better for standing up for yourself, lol ;o) Obviously not advocating any violence, just mental strength against injustice etc.

Broggy
I had similar problem with trousers when I had lost weight (started at size 20) Size 16 were too big - I was going out for a big meal & wanted to wear some tightish trousers so I knew when to stop but ...I didn't have any. Also size 14 were too tight!!

Evening everyone, Welcome Louise & Bev
Been on my Wii Fit again tonight, hoping I will lose at least 1lb by next Wednesday, although I've succummed to a glass of wine (or 2) tonight I'm afraid.
Anyway, just thought I'd have a moan about Jeans. Tried some on before Christmas size 20, they were too tight, so for the 1st time ever I bought a 22. They're miles too big now, although I've lost NO weight. So I bought a 20, and also an 18 in the sale thinking I'd slim into them. The size 20's were baggy on me today, to the extent that when I arrived home from the school run this afternoon I only just managed to make it through the back door before they completely fell down by my ankles. The kids could have been traumatized so please don't anyone report me to Ofsted. But guess what, the 18's still won't fasten - or at least not without making me look like I've got a lifebelt on under my jumper.
Any tips? Anyone know where you can get size 19's or at least a sturdy and generous belt?

Mind if I join you all? I've lost 3 pounds so far - only another 2.5 stone to go!! Got a big family event coming up at easter and again in august so need to lose the weight so I don't look like the "fat chuffa" at the end in the photos! Would also be great to buy a great outfit for the weddings that isn't bought to hide parts of me! I hate looking at myself in photos anyway but don't want to look awful in these ones coming up at the family celebrations. My weight has crept on since I've been married (I blame my hubby's fantastic cooking - he say it's my portion size - he's right!). I have a target date to aim for now, just need to keep going ....

Hi There, this is Tina here, plain Tina!!!! Maria it is a good idea to have the support of the nurse for weigh ins, as you say the scales do not tell porkies then do they!! Hands up how many people at home have stood on one leg and leant over to the right in a bid to get the scales to read a bit lighter!!! Oh my word I am blinded by all of those hands up!!!!!
Another thing I ALWAYS do when I get weighed by the nurse is take my glasses off!!! WHY------I mean if I was only overweight by those few grams my glasses weigh I wouldn't be going to the nurse in the first place would I !!! I am on day 2 of my serious healthy eating plan since the new year and must admit to eating a small piece of chocolate yesterday, but appart from that it has been ok!! Hope you are all doing ok with the wii fit, I haven't got wii fit but could play on the kids wii tennis game-without sitting down as I always have before!!! Do you think that counts!!!
Is anyone coming to the end of their first week yet? Has anyone lost any weight? Keep us posted!! Tina
