Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been on here for a while-we've been flat chat at
work as our store is closing down, and everyone wants a share of the bargains.I worked 7 days straight, then 5 days.Very tiring!

I've been reasonably good,I've lost 6 kilos since starting this program.
I was hoping to lose more, like another 2-3 kilos, but didn't quite get there.
I'm off on my trip to the UK one week today,so I'm really looking forward to that.I will be gone for just over one month. When I come back,I'll continue with eating sensibly, and hopefully will lose some more weight gradually.
And also more regular exercise- I started well with the Plank -then fell in a heap when the weather got really hot here-40degrees C + -and the fires, and the constant smell of smoke for about a week, and I didn't get back into it.The Plank is a great exercise,I want to do it again.

Marilyn, don't feel guilty about "giving in" to sweet things-you do need something to satisfy your sweet tooth, and to look forward to once a week.
It might also help if we think of different kinds of food as "everyday" food-
(the things that we need for healthy eating) and 'sometimes or occasional food"-the things that we eat a little of,like chocolate,or biscuits etc. If you don't do that, you'll probably end up bingeing on those things, and then feel really guilty.Maybe you could also give yourself a reward that's not food-a
small item of clothing,a massage.etc.

Keep on trying everyone-most of you are doing really well!

Good luck,

Margot. xx

Hi everyone - my turn to fess up! I haven't been on for ages as I have been too busy putting most of the weight I lost since Christmas back on (though not all of it fortunately.)

I got back to it last Monday - did my Coleen Nolan DVD on Mon, Wed and Fri for which I was pleased with myself. Getting back on track with the eating plan was much harder - especially the 4 o'clock munchies when the kids get back from school - I have got it together again now though. I lost 1.5 lb last week despite being slow to start, so am feeling optimistic now

Well done Margot, Mo and Marilyn for keeping at it, and I hope you have a lovely time here in the UK Margot.

To Maria, Tinky and anyone else (including me) who has had a little hiccup along the way - we'll have a fresh start and hopefully have better things to report in the next few weeks.

Good luck everyone - keep trying - it'll be worth it!

Hello everyone,

I'm back from my beautiful trip to the UK,I had a wonderful time, and enjoyed every minute of it.When I got back, there was a message on the answering machine from my Slimming Club saying that I was their Queen
of the year for losing 7.5 kgs.To say that I was surprised would be an understatement,I thought that someone was playing tricks on me.But it did turn out to be true, and I was the Queen at their Recognition night, which was lovely. Now I have to keep trying hard, and eat sensibly. So far it hasn't been too difficult,I think I'm still on a high!

Well done to Penny,Tina~j,Marilyn,Mo,Tinky,Broggy, and anyone who is battling to lose weight.Sorry if I've missed anyone out. Where are you all,
and how have you been going? Have you been finding it hard,or easy??

Please share your stories with us,we would love to hear how you're going.

Hi Tinky

Good luck with your keep fit - My fitness coach is also good on wii - you can do keep fit classes from 15 minutes. Play.com were selling it for £9.99 so it's not too expensive to add on.

Margot glad you had a good time here & congrats on being made queen :-)

Thanks Penny, for the encouragement,we all need that!!

WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR ENTHUSIASM????

Are we all sick of trying to lose weight, can't be bothered,it's too hard,or what????

I know I'm running out of steam at times, but then I think about how good I'll feel, and look, when I've lost the weight, and I get motivated again,if I've
strayed off the track slightly.I really want to get healthy and slimmer for the sake of my long-term health-when I don't exercise, things start going wrong with my body,I get aches and pains in the foot and one knee. These
disappear when I exercise,(just walking half an hour every day) and as I'm 60 next month,I want to feel good.

Any thoughts, comments,if anyone is still reading this???

Margot xx

HI Tinky, Penny, Margot and everone

I hope you are all managing to keep going and are all just too busy to keep adding to this thread. I am still going for it but a bit slower than I had hoped. Since we all started I have lost a stone and a half (so 2 stone in total since last summer.) So at this rate I will be slim by 2020!!! No, no I am joking - but I do still have quite a lot to do.

We have just had a busy spell of family birthdays during which I maintained my weigh (at last I can do it) and I am hoping to have another spurt over the next few weeks before my friends wedding at the end of August.

Unfortunately I haven't been so good on the exercises front - sporadic at best. I really must do something about that quite urgently as I don't want to lose all this weight and then be left with loose rolls of skin. So my mission over the next few weeks is to dust off the wii and use it and rediscover my exercise dvds for a bit of variety.

Good luck everyone

Hi Tinaj,Penny,Tinky,and anyone reading this,

Great to hear that you've lost so much weight,Tinaj, well done! I've lost about 7.5kg which I think is about 1 stone.Like you,I'm finding it hard to keep up the motivation to exercise, but I have to do it if I am not going to have flabby rolls of flesh, and for my general health and well -being,but it is
hard to summon the enthusiasm to get out of bed when it's a cold morning!

I've discovered Gillian McKeith's book-"You Are What You Eat'-. I've been following her recommendations, and have found it all very easy to do.
I have fine-tuned my eating patterns,so far so good. Now for the exercise!!

I know we all have busy lives-but how are you all going in trying to lose those pounds/kilos-don't give up,it really is worth it to keep trying. Best wishes, Margot. xx

Hiya

Looks like its just thee and me at the moment Margot! Congratulations on your weight loss.

It seems you have the same enthusiasm for exercise as me (i.e. virtually none!) Well there has been big change for me in that department this week. My youngest has gone on holiday with his friend's family so I only have my 15 year old at home this week. I was trying to suggest to him that he should make some plans with his mates to go and do things. I inadvertantly mentioned squash as a suggestion. Since then I have had 3 games of squash in 3 days! He thought it was an excellent idea and wants to play every day - against me!!!

Apart from the bruises, I feel like I need to sleep for a few days - absolutely cream crackered as they say. I have to admit though I have really quite enjoyed it - I just hope the scales say it has done me some good next week!

Keep at it and good luck

Hi Tina,

Well done with the squash games-I'm sure it will make a difference!!

Yes,it certainly looks as though you and I are the last remaining stalwarts-
we are the champions! We can see the results, and that keeps us going.
My exercise has been sporadic too,but I'll try to be more consistent with it.

Good luck with your continued weight loss,

Hi Margot

I am getting my first day off squash today (after 5 consecutive days.) My son is absolutely loving it and we had a spot of luck yesterday. We were playing again, and afterwards met the regional development coach for squash. She has offered to do a coaching session for my son today with a view to getting him into a league / regional competitions. He is delighted.

If have also agreed to be part of a local women's social squash club that she is trying to get off the ground - so it's looking like I will be playing a lot more in the future.

It's funny how things turn out - a few weeks ago I wouldn't have given squash thought, now it seems to be taking over my life!! So glad I have rediscovered how much I love it.

I hope you manage to find something you enjoy too - it is so much easier to stick to something you enjoy.

Good luck - we'll get there if we just keep plodding

Hi Tina,

That's great-and it all happened by chance! Makes you think that someone up above is pulling some strings for you, doesn't it???

I've been walking in the early mornings,I enjoy that. It's better if I can get out without my little darlings(dogs) as they like to stop at every tree
/post/fence etc, which doesn't make for a very fast pace.I went for 45 minutes this morning-about 5k's or so. I still take the dogs out a few times per week, they get too sedentary otherwise!

At the week-end my husband and I will sometimes take out our new bikes for a short ride-I'm a bit wobbly on mine, lol, and I'm still getting used to the gears, but I do enjoy it, but hopefully I will improve as I use the bike more!

Well done,Tina,keep it up!

Best wishes, Margot xx

Hi Tina & Margot

May I join your duo :-)

I'm still hanging in - I'm not losing any but I haven't put any on either so I'm quite happy as I'm not dieting as such just eating in a new routine.

Well done the two of you for keeping on going.

Hi Penny & Margot

Lovely to see someone joining us!

Well done to Margot for getting more active. I think I would do much more walking if I lived in Oz, but as I live in England and don't like walking in the rain much - I tend to prefer indoor activities lol.

Penny - you do seem to be taking the sensible approach - its all very well dieting and losing the weight, but if you don't learn to maintain it you'll never win. I don't know how many times I have lost this weight before!

I am still playing squash - but not every day now - thank goodness. Danny's coaching went well and he has been invited to join the squash academy which he is delighted about. He was also invited to take part in some competitions next month.

I am not going to do a weigh in for another week. I have been doing a good job mostly recently, but went to a Hen Party on Saturday night - an Indian to start with followed by a pub crawl which involved rather a lot of drinking. We had a fabulous time but I am now back on the wagon again and don't want to be put off by whatever the scales say.

I don't know what is wrong with me - I am not normally this sensible about it !!! Hah ha

Good luck everyone

Hi Tina

I just think, I have to eat 21 times in a week - if I blow it on meal one it's not the end of the world and may seem excessive at the time but as long as you go back to normal eating it won't break the bank - or the scales :-)
