Paul Mckenna has been on tv all week with "I Can make u thin" His method for not stress eating is to tap certain parts of your body. Perhaps u could get hold of his book to explain it better! Borders had it half price last week.

I last went on the Wii Fit a week ago to have a go at the balance things, and a few exercises, have to be careful with the exercises as I have osteoarthritis, so have been on the dance mat most everyday, which does burn calories, although not as many as I would like as I am only on beginner.I have not had any sweets, cakes for seven whole days. I am planning another go on the fit tomorrow and a weigh in, but I am scared cos if I havent lost anything I will get dejected and feel like going on a mad binge.
Good luck to everyone, may the lbs all fall off.

Hi All
I did try the Paul McKenna book and CD a couple of years ago, and did lose some weight with it. I fell off the wagon when my mum was ill and never got back on it again though.
I am like that with all diets though - the first time I tried WW I lost loads, but once I put the weight on again I couldn't get into it a second time.
Anyway back to the CD - I used to listen to it in bed before I went to sleep - its relaxing and makes you feel good and positive. After a couple of goes at it I found that I was waking up suddenly at the same place each time with him teeling me it was all finished!! At first I thought that it wasn't doing me any good because I was sleeping through it, but I don't think I was, I think you relax almost into a trance. I think I might go and root out the CD again!
I have nothing to report yet - I only started yesterday - been pretty good with food and have done my Wii Fit both days. My arms are killing me now - level 2 boxing on Wii (6 minutes!) and painting the kitchen ceiling are taking their toll. Good luck everyone.

Hi Tinky and everyone, hope you're all going well. I got weighed on Fri.-minor setback-have lost NOTHING-Zilch!! Oh well,it could have been worse,I might have gained. It's so true, you can fool yourself, but you can't fool those BXXXXX scales!!! Back to the drawing board, more exercise, smaller portions etc.We all know what to do!
Tina(I think it was, sorry if I have the wrong person) I've tried Paul McKenna's weight loss CD and book before, with success,so I'm back on a daily dose of much needed brain washing from him.The first thing I did after listening to the CD yesterday was to get out my Sugarella (saccharin) ,I can still hear him saying,'AVOID SUGAR!!" so that's the first easy step.He always gets me back on track, but I have to maintain listening to him.I always find him very relaxing too,and quite often fall asleep. It doesn't matter if you do fall asleep, the messages on the 2nd part of the CD are subliminal anyway, and are designed to go into your unconscious mind, so it's just a healthy form of brain-washing,to kick start you into healthy habits and sensible eating again.I'm also doing (almost) daily walking, the plank,a yoga exercise to tighten and tone my jelly belly, and working on the Ab-Pro which has never been used since we got it,until now. Well done to everyone who is trying to lose weight. If you don't lose weight, like me so far,use it as a wake up call to look at what you're doing, and change it. Everyone is different!
Good luck, Margot xx

Jenxx, and Tinky, hang in there, and keep trying,we're all in this together. Tina-sorry,it was Tina j who wrote about the Paul McKenna CD.
Penny,I haven't seen Paul McKenna's new book yet, with the tapping technique. It sounds interesting,I'll keep an eye out at our Aussie Borders store for it.
If anyone needs to tighten their tummy muscles to fit in their jeans etc. the Plank is an exercise that's performed parallel to the floor, just like you're going to do push-ups,except that you don't do the push-ups.You just hold the pose as long as you can, maybe 10,20 seconds, then come out of it.If you start to tremble or shake, come out of it.Do that 3-5 times each day, gradually holding the pose longer or doing it more times. If you get sore stomach muscles you'll know you are overdoing things, take it easy, build up slowly.Good luck!!
Best wishes everyone, Margot xx

Hi Margot, Marilyn and all
Margot - how dissappointing for you - but you do seem to have a really good, positive attitude. I hope you have a better result next week - you deserve to and hopefully Paul McKenna's brain washing will give you that extra boost. I have to agree with you about the Plank exercise - for anyone with Wii Fit the Plank is one of the exercises in the muscle section (I think)
Marilyn - congratulations and keep up the good work!!
Tinky - thanks for starting the thread - it's good to have a support group like this.
My friend and I have decided to get back into our Step workouts (Kelly Roberts video) starting Monday. She has a gym on the top floor of her house - I am surprised that the floor is able to support the weight of both of us bouncing around trying to keep up with Kelly. We will reward ourselves with a homemade cappuchino (a little sprinkle of chocolate powder but no sugar!)
Good luck for next week

Amazon have Paul Mckenna's book half price. I don't agree with the cd brain washing & I can't see the eat when you want what you want working either but I have a pick & mix diet.
Bit of Rosemary Conley, bit of Paul Mckenna & a bit of what I fancy :-)

Hi There All, I am so impressed that so many of you are doing so much exercise I feel like a right couch potato!!!! I read somewhere-I don't think it was on here that the sleep diet is quite good cos if you are asleep then you don't eat!!!!
The eating part of it is going ok at the moment, have tried to do what I did last year when I lost weight and the main thing was to stop eating between meals, I found that heped a lot, also I cut out that last cup of tea in the evening after the kids had gone to bed because I always used to have a few biscuits with it, so now I have one of those hot fruit tea drinks, blackcurrant or cranberry are really nice and don't taste very nice with a biscuit!!!
Can I say hi to Tina-j, I am on here as pain old Tina but as my middle name begins with J I have been getting confused, I saw one of YOUR threads earlier this week and thought "I don't remember typing that message!!!!!" der!!!
Keep up the good work everyone! Tina

Tina,well done,keep it up!
Marilyn-losing 4 lbs. is fantastic-well done!!
Tina~j-Good luck with the Kelly Roberts video. Thank you for your positive comments-I will try harder this week! My stomach muscles are feeling tighter already,I am holding the Plank pose for 30 secs. now without any trembling and it's only the 3rd day that I'm doing it! You don't need a Wii fit to do it,just your body length on the floor.
Penny-maybe my description of Paul McKenna's weight loss CD as "brainwashing" is a little harsh,or misleading. He puts positive messages into the conscious and unconscious parts of the brain, which then influence you to act and think in ways which help you to lose weight.I don't have a problem with that, for me it always has a positive outcome. I guess everyone has their own favourite ways of losing weight,if it works for you then that's great, keep with it.
Tinky-thank you for posting this brilliant thread.Already it has sparked lots of exchanges of ideas, and sharing ways to lose weight.
Good luck everyone, Margot xx

Well done Margot, I am fighting the urge to weigh myself again before Saturday, or Friday at the earliest. Just spent 45 minutes on my Wii Dancing Mat, but on a double shift at work today, so on again in a couple of hours, how is everyone else doing.
Keep up the good work!!!

HI everyone,
Well I was going to start last week but it never happened, I think I realised it was unrealistic what with going to the UK.
I decided to start again yesterday and was horrified to find I had gained over a stone over Xmas. I was yesterday at my heaviest weight ever despite 6 babies!! I weighed in at 12st 7.5lbs.........................shocking! I am hoping to go to Portugal in July to visit my sister (who is super slim) and ideally would like to lose 3 stone................................here goes!
I think I did quite well yesterday; Breaky; tea with dash of semi-skimmed milk & Raspberry smoothie 11's; 2 pears & 1 banana Lunch; Sushi & Herbal tea 5pm Snack; Apple Tea; 70g (uncooked weight) rice with onion & pepper & 5 asparagus spears & 200g whiting with chinese 5 spice & Apple & Pear & Black Coffee & Herbal tea 2l water over the day
Hubby came home at 9pm with Kentucky and I ate a few of his chips (6 or 7) and a chicken wing!
I was my first day back at Uni so I walked to and fro the car which is about 2 miles (Although I really need to measure it!)
Hubby on health kick as of today so hopefully no more junk in the house!
Good luck all,
love Theresa

Hi Everyone-seems like we are all getting off to a good start. It is truely horrible getting on the scales after christmas!! I don't weigh myself at home, I refuse to have scales in the bathroom!!!! As I said before I get weighed by the nurse every 2 weeks. However over christmas I knew I was overeating and so when I went to my sisters I hopped on her scales and saw I had put on nearly a stone!!!!!! BUT it's a good tip to always weigh on the same scales and at a similar time of day because when I went to the nurse a couple of days later the damage was only (!) 6lbs. I have had a good few days and a couple of not so good but I will go to the nurse next week and hopefully I will be back on track.
Did anyone see that programme on last night called the half ton man-all about the worlds heaviest teenager at 57STONE!!!! He had to go through so much surgery and stuff, I hope they do a follow up programme on him in say 6 months to see how he is progressing! Anyway, keep up the good work all!! Tina
