First day of diet, well no sweets, cakes etc., got out of the way yesterday, feel like I am on my way down now, more of a let down if I cheat as the days go on.

Not weighing myself for another 2 or 3 days but good luck to everyone who is trying to resist the goodies.

Hi Tinky, and everyone else, I've been trying to lose weight now for ages, without much success.I asked my doctor about weight loss pills which curb the appetite, and he recommended Duromine,at the lower strength.I was worried about becoming addicted to them,so he said just to take 1 tablet every second day.I have been doing this, and guess what, they work. Not only do they curb the hunger pangs, they also give you extra energy. You must not take them after 12 midday,as they may keep you awake. They are pretty expensive here, but 30 tablets will last me 60 days,so it's not too bad.I'm combining eating sensibly with more exercise,
hopefully that will do the trick.I've only slipped up once since I started taking them, and that was because I forgot to take the pill that morning.
I was looking in the pantry at midnight, trying to find something to eat.
Duromine cuts out all that-you're not really worried about food at all. I've tried everything else, and my will power is just not strong enough, so this is great. I have about 12 kilos to lose. Good luck to everyone trying to lose weight,it's very hard, but it is possible. Hopefully this will help someone else,as well!

Hi Everyone, can I join in too,
I lost 4 stone last year and have more to lose, I know I have put on weight over xmas, I am due to go to the practice nurse again on Tuesday so will let you know what the damage was!!! I refuse to have scales at home so usually get weighed by the nurse every 2 weeks but would value some more encouragement!!
Initially I started to lose weight for health reasons but once I go into it I started to enjoy that feeling that comes with not eating anything that comes along! I didn't call it a diet at first and because it was a case of "a little of what you fancy does no harm" no one knew I was on a "diet" until they saw the results! Looking forward to getting into it again! Lots of people seem to want to join in, does any one know how many??

Hi Tinky well, my daughter went home after Christmas with 3 tins of chocolates to stop me eating them ( expect she'll be on this thread when she has eaten them!)

I started aerobics today using one of my many exercise dvd's and have sweated through it - feeling really virtuous so have celebrated with a packet of Cheesy Wotsits. Oh dear.

Seriously, I am going to do a dvd workout every day, come what may, so will report on my progress. I have a wedding in New Zealand to go to in April and will NOT be the fatty. Good luck to all of you.

Morning Tinky

I have similar prob as my hubby loves chocolate & is keen to share. Also I have 2 young children so don't want to put them on my "diet", I often cook different meals for them . I do like chicken a lot so I just quickly flavour some chicken & put it in the oven whilst their meal is cooking. I also buy different snacks for me & try & not be too tempted by their biscuits etc

Friday weight in sounds good to me, took me half an hour to burn off 105 calories on my dance mat today, must learn to do it faster, still on beginner stage, basic has too many steps for me at the moment. Still, managing to keep of the sweet stuff, have actually said no thank you to one or two offers of the terrible stuff at work lol

Good luck everyone

Hi Tinky and everyone,

Isn't this fun,it's the first time I've been in an on-line weight loss group.
Well done,Tina, keep it up,you're going well.I suppose we all have good reasons to lose weight-mine is that I'm coming out to visit the UK in April,
and don't want to look or feel like the Aussie beached whale /blimp. I want
to feel good, not overweight when I meet my email friends, cousins and rellies that I've met through GR. Now I have no excuse-all the mince pies, shortbread, etc are finished,so time to get down to business! We're all here for the same reason,so we can help and encourage one another
to lose weight.Good luck,everyone!

Best wishes, Margot xx

I would like to join.

As usual I gain 10lb over Christmas.

I start tomorrow with healthy eating and have a fresh mushroom soup ready to go for lunch time. I loosely follow a ww plan.
I have an autoimmune condition and iQuercitin has come up as a remedy and interestingly enough Althernative Health Practioners have suggested it for weight loss; so I am thinking of giving it a go.

Anyway I have to lose the 10lb by mid Feb or I wont fit in my uniform again and ideally I want to lose 2 stone (min) by June. However whilst I start healthy eating tomorrow, I am off to the Uk on Wednesday. Thursday I am out with a school friend and Friday with the in-laws and Saturday with sis and her hubby.....................................................WISH ME LUCK!!!!

I will post with my start weight tomrrow! I for one would rather a earlier weighin in the week as Friday gives me a chance to cheat over the weekend\!!!!

love Theresa

BTW Duromine is an amphetamine that is discontinued in the UK for public use, although some prvate drs will prescribe it.

Hi,Theresa, I dont think it matters when we get on the scales, Mon is a better day for me ,the more important thing is losing the weight, so just keep telling us all how you are getting on,

Best of luck to us all...........

Morning all

Happy Monday.

It doesnt matter when we weigh in Friday was just a week roughly when we started. I get weighed tonight at my RC class to see how much I have put on !!

With all his snow around just ponder on the creation outside inside of listening to tummy noises :-)

Hi Everyone
I went to get weighed with the nurse today and she tells me I put on 6lbs over christmas which sounds terrible but not unexpected as I had rather got carried away!! I have got loads of weight to loose so by March I have set myself a target of loosing the 6lb plus another stone, thats 20lb in 2 months so I will have to work very hard to acheive this. If I manage to do it then I will set myself another target to aim for before my holiday and go on like that. This is what I did last year and I managed to loose 4 stone in all so hope to be able to get back into it again and continue the good work!!!

How is everyone else doing it, weight watchers, calorie counting, slimming world, whats the best way.
My motto has been a LITTLE of what you fancy does you good!! Nothing is off limits BUT I tell myself if I fancy something I have to wait till the next mealtime to have it, then if I still fancy a bit of chocolate I will have some after my meal (I don't go in for puddings anyway) Nine times out of 10 I don't want it then but if I do I have it!! Seems to work for me but then I have got a lot to loose, I expect by the time I get to the last stone I want to shift I will have to be much more strict!!
Happy Slimming!!

Hello all.

I haven't made a very good start I'm araid. I shouldn't even be here I should be on my Wii Fit right now, hula hooping & stepping for all I'm worth!

I haven't made an appointment to go back to my nurse yet - putting it off with any lame excuse I can think of.

I think I've put about half a stone on over Christmas despite being really poorly with flu therefore haven't felt much like eating and have hardly had any booze either.

Fed up of the sound of my own thoughts on this to be honest, everything I say sounds like an excuse, and I should just get on with it.

To anyone who is still reading, sorry for moaning, but I feel better for getting it off my chest, lol.

Good luck everyone

Maria xx
