Good evening anybody who is looking in.

I went to an ageing expo yesterday. No, they werent teaching us how to grow old, we can do that without any help. There were lots of stalls with info on all sorts of things: joining various clubs like croquet, bowls, bridge, U3A, and others, other stalls on various health issues such as alzheimers and parkinsons. There were also displays on the stage of line dancing, belly dancing, and so on.

One of the stalls was on hearing problems and as I know the woman on it I was telling her how useless my hearing aids are. She suggested I might be suitable for a cochlea implant. She has one. If I am referred for a free one there might be a long wait, so I should ask now. She is going to Wellington next week to urge parliament to shorten the waiting time for them.

I might go for a walk today if it is not too wet. I need more exercise. :-|

Oh my goodness no one has posted since Stephens post at 7.26 this morning.
Now I know Marilyn is at the hospital with Pete, and am hoping that things will go well for him.
But where the dickens are Rita and Jean today again. I do hope they are both o.k

Stephen, I think the "Get well spell" has reached down here to Kent. My foot is a lot less painful today, thank goodness, and thank you for that Stephen. I am feeling a lot more :-D :-D :-D today.

Oh Dear ....never mind me dad ....he's OK ....got the news he knew was coming, he has over the legal limit for free care ...

But now its Pete.....he had headaches all day yesterday & the day before with funny goings on in his eyes AGAIN....so down the Docs we go .......Doc says he could have had a mini stroke !!!!!!!

Oh dear drops everything..... ,up Hospital all day tomorrow waiting for a slot for an MRI scan , to eliminate a stroke :-S
So I wont be on threads tomorrow.....but will let you all know .

The Memorial Service went well. Church was rather full. Then off for a tea and a chance to meet friends when haven't seen for ages.

Two relatives of my wife are named on the 1st World War Memorial in the Church

No word from Rita today, or Jeniwren, I hope they are both o.k. I know Jeni's new treatment is due to start this week, lets hope it hasn't knocked her sideways.

Stephen, I hope the memorial service went well. Did you wear your kilt for it?
Wearing bright colours in her memory is a wonderful idea, making people remember what a beautiful person she was.

Marilyn, I hope the meeting with the assessors went well, and that dad kept them in their places. Bless him.

I'm off to see the assessors about my Dad having carers at home.....I'm just going to listen ..LOL
Dad although 98yrs soon is very capable of asking questions ,he's not going to tell them what he has in the bank !! but just going to ask how much does he have to pay for carers from now on .... :-) he knows he HAS to pay so a waste of time them coming really a phone call would sort out a carer privately.....but the assessors have insisted a visit .

So I'm off for me bath ..

I have a problem with my left leg now and again. It just gives way and down I go . It's caused by an old injury and nothing can be done for it. It really can be an embarassment.

Heading off to a Memorial Service today for our dear friend who died while on holiday in Malaga in August. Her express wish was....NO BLACK.....something bright and colourful to be worn. We had known Linda for 45 years.

Hello friendlies, it's me again, that strange woman Mo. lol
I am sitting here with a badly sprained ankle, after having a fall yesterday.
The fall was caused by the tablets the doctor had put me on for my cholesterol.
The tablets can, and did cause a paralysis in my foot and leg. I had had cramps in my foot before this, and took no notice of it.
Roly likened me to a drunken bum, as I collapsed on the floor in a heap.
I thought my limb was working as it should do, but when I went to put my foot to the floor, it collapsed on me, and down I went like a bag of poo. Oh well I live to tell the tale thats the main thing.

I hope you found your parents fit and well Marilyn. It seems unfair that they should have to pay, for a service that they are not really getting. If dad is coping by himself changing his bag, and they are not receiving any other help, then why should they have to pay for it, wether they can afford it or not. The carers seem to be just popping in for a quick cuppa, and a break from their other duties, and writing up their notes.

Well done Rita, for taking yourself off the chemo tablets. They obviously didnt suit you love, and made you so poorly. Stay strong honey, and beat this bu@@er on the head.

I have to go to my parents house tomorrow they have the carers being stopped as a result from my Dads discharge from the hospital....he's had it for free for 6 weeks ,now its pay time .
I did tell my dad that it will stop soon and that he will have to start to pay , and quite rightly so as he has money, but funnily enough the carers don't do anything physical with him they just write notes in the book !! ....My Dad changes his Colostomy himself ! he's quite capable they just watch him >>LOL......So its going to be fun & games tomorrow as to what the decision will be...

I took myself off the Chemo tablets they were making so very ill. I saw the professor yesterday. he said I did the right thing coming off them. I had lost too much weight and was far too pale.
I have been told to rest and try and eat. he will see me in 1 months time. He said I had been brave to have still taken them after all I had been though. so I dont now what is a head of me.now just must try and get back to my own self.

Jean how are things going with you ? hope everyone is keeping well.? not sure I like these dark mornings and evenings.

I could replace my angel photo with one of me as a witch for halloween, if you like. I think I might have used it last year?

A Wee Chuckle for the day

One day Paddy was sitting in his house in Dublin when his doorbell unexpectedly rang.

He answered the door and found a salesman standing on his porch with a strange object.

"What is that?" Paddy asked.

"It's a thermos," the salesman replied.

"What does it do?" asked Paddy.

"This Thermos," the salesman said, "keeps hot things hot and cold things cold."

After some deliberation Paddy bought one, deciding it would really help his lunch situation.

The next day he arrived at the plant where he works. Sure enough, all the other employees were curious about his new object.

"What is it?" they asked.

"It's a thermos," Paddy replied

"What does it do?" they asked.

"Well," Paddy says in a bragging manner, "It keeps hot things hot and cold things cold."

"What ya got in it?"

To which Paddy says, "Three cups of coffee and an Ice Lolly."

Got all my running around completed yesterday, I don't like that kind of day, I keep thinking of the fuel that I'm using that really is now very expensive. Is my journey really necessary ? That's the question that keeps coming to mind. If I don't really need to use a vehicle.....then I don't.

Sorry to read that Rita and Jeni have been having a bad time of it, you are both in my thoughts constantly. I was hoping that things had improved for you both.

Aaah so Marilyn you are off on your travels again soon I notice. I bet the good ol USA is beckoning you both back.
I know you are normally there for Thanksgiving, and Halloween.
