Morning all,
cold and crisp here today but not raining so :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
At last I will be able to get some washing on the line.
Mo last night was even worse than the 2 previous nights, fireworks didn't stop until the small hours, Gypsy wouldn't go out so this morning there was a puddle on the floor :-( Hopefully all will be quiet tonight.
Going to work for 8 this morning so better get my skates on, hope all are well,
((((((((hugs)))))))) for Rita and Jean,

Hi there friendlies,
Good to see Yvonne and Cath posting again.
Cath, it's such a shame how many animals suffer when fireworks night comes around.
It's not as if it is confined to one night is it, like years ago when we used to celebrate with just a few small fireworks, and sparklers.
Not like the great big bangs that accompany todays fireworks. And the cost of the blessed things is astronomical.

Yvonne how does your horse cope at this time of year? Do you have to get a sedative from the vet to calm it down?

Linda, I need my carpets cleaned, in readiness for christmas, can you manage to pop down and do them for me whilst you are in the mood for cleaning. LOL

Freezing conditions here at the moment folks, my feet are like two blocks of ice,even though they are in fur lined slippers brrr.

No news from Marilyn yet, I hope they are enjoying themselves.

Love to all. Mo

Rita hope you are ok after your stay in hospital sending <3 <3 <3 to you

Jean I hope you are ok now too, this time of year is not a happy time for you, thinking of you <3 <3 <3

I've been busy on Ancestry while their 1911 census was free resurching OH's family, next weekend the WW1 records are free so I'll be on there for that

Love to all

Morning folks,
another wet and miserable day.
Stephen glad you enjoyed your sons birthday dinner, family is so important. We all love a get together in our house.
Spent last night trying to get one of our dogs out from under the table, poor thing is terrified of fireworks, starts shaking and her heart was racing, I expect it will be the same tonight :-( :-(
Lots of positive thoughts to Jean and Rita,
<3 <3 <3 to all,

A Wee Chuckle for the day

One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Johnny was standing and
staring up at the large plaque that hung in the foyer of the church.

The young man of seven had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the
pastor walked up and stood beside him.

Gazing up at the plaque, too, he said quietly, "Good morning son."

"Good morning pastor" replied the young man, not taking his eyes off
the plaque.

"Sir, what is this?" Johnny asked.

"Well son, these are all the people who have died in the Services," replied the pastor.

Soberly, they stood together staring up at the large plaque.

Little Johnny's voice barely broke the silence when he asked quietly,

"Which Service sir, the 8:30 or the 10:30 ?"

Oh dear, looks like I have put people off posting, sorry if I have.
Bought the last of Scarlett's Christmas presents yesterday, think I may wrap them tomorrow while she is at nursery, then have to hide them.

Good night, God bless you all.

Hello everyone, hope you are all ok.

Rita and Pauline, hope you are feeling better <3 <3

Sorry I have been absent for a while, I had a very unpleasant experience a couple of weeks ago, so I just stayed away from everything, but have 'pulled myself together' and 'sorted myself out' and 'stopped dwelling on it' and followed all the other pieces of well meaning advice I was given, not that they made much difference, but life has to go on.

Stephen, you must be a 'jack of all trades' how lucky your wife is.

Cath good to see you on here,

~~~~~~~~~~~~~to everyone, have a good day.
Take care and stay safe.
Good morning to all the lovely friendlies :-D :-D :-D
Sorry I've been on the missing list again, don't come on genes much at all now as I work on my tree elsewhere.
Rita sorry you have been so poorly, hope you are starting to feel a little better, take care. Jean you too, take good care of yourself and keep that positive attitude you have.
Marilyn I had to laugh at the thought of your stepmother picking off the mushroom stalks in the supermarket, just like something my mum would do when shopping. I usually end up hiding in another aisle.
Great to see Foggy and George, also Dermot have popped in, loved Dermots tale about the trauma of moving, so very true.
Hope everyone is well and warm, its freezing here today and blowing a gale although at least the sun is out :-)
Stephen thank you for the email
Morning Folks,
Another clear frosty morning here. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Mo and Linda,
Good to see you on the Thread. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Having a Birthday meal for my son today. It's not his birthday until Tuesday but this is the only time we will all manage to be together. Looking forward to that. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
I'm still clearing things to the loft. Problem is once you start going through things you spend too long looking at them. :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P I'll need to be more focussed and a bit more ruthless in what I discard. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Heated discussions going on as to how many bathrooms and showers we really need. I'm the Donkey so I do as I'm told :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S If Lady Stephen was having to pay for a Joiner, Plasterer. Plumber, Tiler and Electrician etc I'm sure she would not be so keen to pile on the work.
Mind you I do get a lot of satisfaction in seeing the finished results.
Have a good day ya all !
Keep well , keep safe , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Evening all
Been a busy bee. Stayed at daughters through Halloween, kept out of the way....... but such awful weather don't think many were out or about.
Keep hearing fireworks going off tonight, guesing more tomorrow and Monday, then a repeat next weekend too.
The dining room is finished, but now we need some new nets and curatins, lampshades and possibly furniture too. What we have is a big display cabinet and too heavy, also I might be persuaded to sort some bits out, who knows?
Sebastian is now 9 months old and adorable. Joshua is already 6 weeks old and another beautiful child. I need to decide what to get for Christmas. I don't want to get 2 of the same things as it would be easy to do that, but they need some different things of their own.
Still knitting for England, just finished a hat and mitts for Sebastian and a hat for my daughters friend, another boy, the Mum can't find a hat that suits him. So me to the rescue.
Well hope to be cleaning carpets tomorrow and then need to get things sorted before we get ready for Christmas.
Have a good weekend everyone. Hi to Mo and Stephen.
(_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? Tea Stephen, just as you requested. The way things are going, it will be tea for two.
We wouldn't like an outside loo, especially when it snows.
The number of times we had to cut news paper into squares, and thread them onto string for Nans outside loo, when we were kids.
Oh lordy, those were the days.
Nan used to heat the water up in the copper, for our bath, and transfer it by the bucket into the old tin bath in front of the blazing fire, oh such lovely memories of childhood.
Thank goodness you have got nice neighbours Huia. Walking the 9km would have completely done you in.
Not long now till your charity hair raising event, (or should I say, the loss of hair charity function).
Still no news from Rita, bless her, hope she is coping.
Byyyyeee from me. Mo
Morning Folks !
Bright and Frosty here......lovely. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Today I'm moving a pile of stuff to the loft.......to be lost forever no doubt.......then I can get moving to add another bathroom upstairs. It's a sixty minute makeover that will probably take me weeks ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Don't know why we need another bathroom.....only dirty folk wash :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S
Whatever happened to just an outside loo at the bottom of the garden ? And a big tin bath in front of the fire with the wife scrubbing your back :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Have good day ya all !
Huia Report 2 Nov 2012 18:54
I am here, just finished breakfast. Yesterday I took my vehicle to the local garage for its warrant of fitness. He found the brake pads were getting thin, and another part needed replacement. He had to order them in so I left the wagon there and got a ride home (9 km). I got a phone call just before 6pm to say it was done so I said I would come in the morning to pay and collect. Then it occurred to me that 9km was a long way to walk, so after dinner I rang some of the neighbours, got answer phone from a few, asked another if she would be going in to town today, which she wasnt. She later rang back to say she could give me a ride to Hunua if I needed one, but by that time I had had an offer from another person in our road. He will come and pick me up at 9.30, that is in 1 and a half hour's time, so I had better get moving and sort myself out: put on a bra and decent clothes, go to loo, clean teeth (no not in the loo), lock up, walk down drive to wait for him.
Dearest Motie, do tell us your problems dear. Doctor Stephen is very good at sorting out ailments and misery.
He is a good chap, and will help when ever he can. And he is very kind in keeping the place clean whilst us mortals get our rest. We know we can leave the thread in his gentle hands, and come back refreshed.
But alas and alack, I fear for his sanity, if he keeps talking to himself like he has done over the last few days, without getting any answers from the friendlies, it's enough to drive a body mad. ;-) ;-) ;-)
O.k, enough of that twaddle, where the hell has everyone got to?
Love to all.
