In our hospice shop the other day a woman was looking for a man's cardigan for her 97 yr old dad who is in care. She says he cant cope with zip-up ones or jumpers. We couldnt find any for men but I found a couple of women's ones, which she bought. She said the carers would do up the buttons.

Linda,

M&S, Debenhams etc do they sell mens jumpers ?.

The ones I get all seem to come from shops called Oxfam , Red Cross, Cancer Care etc ROFL ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Yes, got to agree it's cheaper to buy than to knit mens stuff. And not so sore on the fingers.

Hi Stephen
No my fingers are Ok at present but only little items of clothing so far. Might change as they get bigger and more wool used therefore heavier.
I do know that people do have problems with their hands, it must be hard when it's been something you enjoy.
I haven't knitted anything for hubby for a long time, the wool costs so much now, and unfortunately it can be cheaper to buy in places like M&S. Not quite the same but not bad quality. Funnily enough Lidl have male cardigans on offer from tomorrow for only £12:99 !!

Still tipping here so no garden tidying this afternoon.

Linda,

Does knitting cause problems with your fingers ?

My wife very seldom knits now as she finds her fingers get very sore. I suppose it's a form of athritis.

All my jumpers come ready made now. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

No doubt Santa will have a few for me again :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Morning Stephen and Huia
Hi Shelly, how is all the family. Did you get lots of research done with the 1911, any good results?
Wet and miserable again down south. Thought the rain was forecast for the West !!
Off for a blood test in half an hour, then I can have my breakfast.

Result yesterday with the car fault, a) they found it, b) they fixed it, c) it came under the warranty. So glad we bought from a franchised dealer and it still has 15 months left to run too.

Finished another cardigan last night.

Have a good day everyone

A Wee Chuckle for the day

The judge frowned at the robber and said,

“then you admit breaking into the same store on three successive nights?”

”Yes, your honour.”

“And why was that?”

“Because my wife wanted a dress.”

The judge checks with his records, “But it says here you broke in three nights in a row!”

“Yes sir. She made me exchange it twice.”

Afternoon all

Huia you're very brave having all your hair cut off, I don't know if I could do it, hope you raised loads of money

Jean my son moans at me when I get home from the stables and he says my car smells like a stable too lol. My horse is on box rest at the moment, she came in from the field lame, she's on pain killers and the vet has done nerve blocks, the problem is below the fetlock so the next thing will be xrays

Stephen hope you're not getting too wet
