Hi Folks,
RITA.......
I have tried without success to contact her by phone. Her number is no longer listed..
However I did make contact with the Manager of her Sheltered Housing Complex.
As I expected she could not give me any information for Privacy reasons.
She did take my home phone number and said she would pass it on to Ritas family for them to contact me.
Also she does know that Rita has a lot of friends on GR whom she spoke about.
FINGERS CROSSED ON THIS ONE......... :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(
I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.

Hello Linda, we must have been adding to this thread at the same time.
Hope everything goes well for your Mum with her scan.
My thoughts and prayers will be with your brother, I know it isn't much consolation but he is in the bast place, am sure he will be very well looked after.
How are Sebastian and Joshua, bet you are looking forward to their first Christmas.
Take care when you go out, stay safe and warm. Jean xx <3 <3

Morning Stephen our early bird Hello to others as you wake Saw my brother yesterday He seems fine. All the other tests were good. He is in no pain. Just this blocked artery. He has to stay wired and in hospital until they can do the by-pass. We took my sister in law and nephew too. He is now on Statins, aspirin and stomach protector. His choloestrol was 5.9 and 9 years ago it was 5.7 so a bit high on figures now but fine when he last went to the dr.
Oh I do wish there were checks for us like an MOT it could be a form of preventative medicine instead of fixing things once they have gone wrong. Just my feelings and I have thought this for a long time !!
Of to take Mum for her heart scan this morning. It's the same hospital as my brother. But we haven't told her as with the dementia she will get very upset and might have to be told every time somebody sees her. Oh I hate getting old.
Have a good day everyone

Hi everyone, hope you all managed to keep warm during last night.
Wonder how Rita is, hope she is feeling better, does anyone know if she will spend Christmas with her family?
Marilyn, hope you had a good journey home and enjoyed your holiday. Best wrap up well if you are going out, no doubt you will notice a big difference in temperature here.
Stephen, so sorry about your wife's cousins husband, it must be very sad when someone who has been part of your life for a long time has to go into a care home, poor woman must be feeling that part of her life is being taken away. I am sure your support will help her get through the next few weeks.
~~~~~~~~~ to everyone, if you have to go out today take care and stay safe. Jean xx :-) :-) :-)
A Wee Chuckl e for the day
A little boy came home with his parents from church one Sunday.
He seemed a little depressed, so his mother asked him if something happened in Sunday school class that he would like to talk about.
He told his mother "Well, we were singing songs and the teacher made us sing about a poor bear named Gladly that was cross - eyed.
The mother couldn't understand why the teacher would teach such a song in Sunday school, so she decided to call her.
To the woman’s amazement, the teacher said she only taught hymns that morning.
Then the teacher began laughing out loud and said to the mother,
“I know what Jeffrey’s' talking about!
We learned the hymn................. 'Gladly The Cross I'd Bear'".
Linda, god willing your brother will be fine. It's such a worry for you all I know. My brother had his triple bye pass done nearly three years ago, and he is like a new man now. He did have a year off from work recouperating, and getting back to his normal self. Unfortunately he has just been made redundant from his building work job. At 63 he is finding it hard to get work, especially when much younger men are going for the same jobs as he is. But it is not his capability to work that is holding him back, it's an age thing unfortunately. Stay strong Linda, he is in the very best place for him.
Stephen, there was an alert from air traffic control, saying that a wide beam of light appeared over Scotland earlier today, they had to divert many aircraft. The word is out that a mad Scotsman was mooning from his bedroom window, surely that was not you. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Sorry for the early delivery Pauline, but I wanted to be sure the cards didn't get lost in the post. Better to be early than not arrive at all LOL
Marilyn, I hope your journey home was without problems, and that the snow wasn't to bad when you got home.
A big hello to you all, and it's bye bye for now folks.
Morning Folks,
Looks like another fine day. So far so good. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Word from the Hospital is our relation is going into a Care Home on Friday. Nothing can be done for him so it's a case of letting nature take it's course. His wife and family will need a lot of support to accept what is happening. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(
Not a lot planned for today. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) But then who knows what'll crop up.
Have a good day ya all !
